“myth” sure thing to say. Did we not see games against WI and Aus in VB series? or was it a one time flash in the pan, did we not see them fighting like a unit in Tests and ODIs against India or was that the continuance of the flash?
Anyway, I agree that we 've spent too much time discussing Shoaib Akhtar, had we talked about correcting ourselves in religion we might have made a reservation in Jannat for ourselves
He’s not quitting.
He will simply not take the kind of B-ll$hit he’s been getting. And I don’t think he should consider playing for the ad-hoc setup with no bearings.
Almost ‘Every single person’ on this thread has suggested that 'He can play as long as he changes his attitude. LOL
I say to this, who the hell is going to judge a good attitude from a bad one?
I’m sure you wern’t born yesterday to think that he’s ‘New’ to the county setup, were you?
We have been through this on these pages many a times, so lets rest it.
You have to give credit where and to whom its due. Bob Woolmer is doing things with the team which was thought not possible before. He’s the man behind the On going progress with the team unity and discipline.
Which player and which team steps out on the green with these kind of pre determined negative minds? make mockery of the cap10 and the discipline, other players or the oppsoition?
What Inzi got to do with the team Unity? They are suppose to play well and as a team. Probably the only person who knew the philosphy of ‘Unity’ was coach Woolmer. And empahised on it by various means I’m sure.
Otherwise after loosing to India in the home series the awaam called for Bobs ‘Blood’ too and Shoaibs and Naveeds and Shabir’s
Inzimam’s only job is to bat and score runs, and he’s the great man for it too.
His Capt10-C was a joke as per my expectations, and I don’t give a crap about what the commentators said about his cap10-C in india ,
The so called unity you saw was a myth in a sense that players are suppose to be united to play ANY match not only the crunch games.
Why is that when the things starts to work the was they should we call it a Miracle , subhan Allah.
Do you think Salman Butt or Sami unkil get up in the morning chanting “I am unity, I will remain united, unity meray khoon mai hai” ?
If thats the case ,then can we make it mandatory for the players to chant / repaet these phrases after every over bowled ? May be little animation might work too, :elmo:
Inzi got nothing to do with “unity”? for God’s sake he is captain, if he doesn’t then who will? Shoaib Akhtar?
I agree that Bob def has played big part in team’s unity and he is also behind Akhtar’s exclusion. You don’t have to play kid about “unity”. Players are supposed to stay united thru out the matches and were unable to do it in Akhtar’s presence and now with him gone most (if not all) matches they played like a unit. No one wakes up to chang unity unity, its the captain/coach which mould you into one and if someone wants to be treated differently/princely then he invites divisions.
Let the players chant fitness/committment before they chant anything else
PS: This so called Unity you qoute, was indeed new to the Pakistan side, despite Inzi being in the same team for yonks, probabley never before saw the all sections of the team clicked together like clock work. Errr, well most of the time.
I repeat! Please do not give this credit or even slice it for some one else then the coach Woolmer.
Prior to the home series this team was playing in the Newzealand under coach ‘Miandad’ with all kind of ‘blunders’ taht went down in the history of the game,
It was the same captain then,
Or you rather blame Shoaib for being in the team that time,
Captain,
Players were unable to stay united because of Shoaib Akhter’s presence? Comeon, first of all, dude you giving the guy to much credit. Secondly, other players are dudh peetha bachay (milk drinking kids) they do not know where the Qibla (Captaincy) is? Your argument against Shoaib actually proves Inzi’s incompetence and weak captaincy that he needs to chuck out players who can threaten his weak position…
Miandad was never good at peronnel skills, he failed (or was consipred against) several times as captain and then as coach to prove that… he had his own thought process which he wanted to “install” in everyone else.
Anyway, I think I have wasted too much of my time already on this topic :insha: no more about it.
Bhai jaan,Miandad was the coach of the team in the ‘best of the PCB scenerio’ Great Tauqeer zia - Rameez Raja. The conspiracy card you’r trying to stack is a non issue.
Same Tauqeer Zia knew exactley how to hand the speedster. That means to say that Tauqeer zia ‘stood up to the challanges’ did not find escape routes like Inzimam is suggesting that Shoaib was dropped from the side was a disciplinery correction ??? Hellooo, Abbay tum Capt10 ho,yeh tumhara kaam hai,kay handle kero, don’t look for excuses to lighten your work load,
Sir this discussion can not be concluded if you keep on disputing the facts of the current situations or what was there in the past. Atleast the Capt10 has come forward in saying what he said. It was Inzi’s personal grudge,???
Ps: I’m sure the interview or the statment must have been in Urdu beyond any shadow of the doubt.
This thread should be closed and all should wait till Lara starts our pitayee. This thread should then be opened again and everyone should comment on how much we need Shoaib Akhtar. Charhtay Suraj ke pujarion, Allah tumhe dekhay gaa.
Why do you think Shoaib Akhtar need to be managed in the first place? The three well paid, experienced knowledgable sure ARE managing him… by keeping him out of the team. This is the surest form of maintaining discipline. When a child acts up, the principal disciplines him/her by sending him home. The same thing has happened with Akhtar… what did you expect? That Woolmer, Inzimam, etc will have a stick and beat Akhtar with it for each of his violations?
You say Inzi is cannot/does not want to manage a player who can challenge his authority? Why would a player challenge a captain’s authority? Have you seen McGrath or Warne challenge Ponting’s authority? A player has to yield to the captain’s authority otherwise the team can’t function.
Well, how can you call Inzimam a weak captain when you feel that he put his foot down and got Shoaib excluded from the squad because he wanted to? That’s a forceful captain in my opinion.
