Re: Shia / Sunni Marriages
Why do Shias and Sunnis have vastly different opinion about Hazrat Umar RA, Hazrat Abu Bakar RA and Hazrat Usman RA???? Sunnis give them so much respect whereas shias have nothing but hate for them, can anybody please explain the difference?????
Re: Shia / Sunni Marriages
argh - go to religion forum and do a search - we had some real good discussions on it a few months/weeks ago.
Re: Shia / Sunni Marriages
Thanks buddy
. Since you are so open hearted about regular Maatam, why don’t you give Miss Destinee a little lecture about dealing with it, because she has a Maatam phobia or something. Really.
Re: Shia / Sunni Marriages
Has she seen it done?
Re: Shia / Sunni Marriages
There are lot of examples of these marriages in Pakistan and outside, but success depends on
How religious both parties are
Can you respect opinions of other person
I personally feel there are very tiny difference in rituals, I don't even care about them.
The first and last objection, which I can not tolerate is that, if some one abuses sacred personalities of any religion, particularly Islam.
Disagreement is fine, but calling names and abuse is beyond limit. I hope that most educated shias don't indulge in this disgraceful act.
Re: Shia / Sunni Marriages
2 - see my previous response in the thread. the sunni ruling on it is that the Prophet is reported to have combined the prayers in this way atleast 3 times in sahih muslim/bukhari, and the stated reason for doing that was not inability to pray because of travel waghera, but in order to avoid hardship for his Ummah. while most sunnis dont combine prayers, it is wrong to say that they are considered qaza in the sunni version of the religion.
3 - the difference comes in the definition of dusk and dawn. in sunni mazhab, dusk for example is when the first signs of night appear i.e. the appearance of shafaq. In shia, its when all signs of the day disappear i.e. the disapperance of shafaq.
4 - the reason for that is that in Islam, both shia and sunni, syeds are not allowed to recieve zakat, i believe it is tied to a verse from the Quran. anyway, there is no disagreement about that. since shias are also often syeds, they cannot take zakat from anyone, shia or sunni.
Re: Shia / Sunni Marriages
Who is the recipient of Zakat in Shia community? A tiny number of non-syed shias should be awefully rich!
Re: Shia / Sunni Marriages
^ Obviously, it goes to the needy. Shias also have to pay khums on top of zakaat, a % of which goes to needy seyeds and the rest to the Mujtahids.
Re: Shia / Sunni Marriages
I would like to know more about it dear. If majority of Shias is Syed who do not qualify to be recipients of Zakat, there should be very tiny minority of Shias receiving it. What I guess is that they would no more be needy! I am a bit confused on this. Please enlighten me. Thank you.
Re: Shia / Sunni Marriages
this has turned into one of those shia bashing threads and should be moved straight to the religious forum where they can deal with such matters
my twopence worth on the original subject
I feel that if a Sunni and Shia chap and chappette wish to marry they are likely to have worked out or (will work out) a way for the kids to worship.
every shia and every sunni are not the same, I suspect that the more dominant one will "win" although its likely that if their partners religious customs dont really bother them theyll not be too worried about how their children worship.
I say the above because I have a few friends who are in Shia/sunni relationships, the same is true for Roman catholic/protestant and muslim and Christian pairings.
If they had huge issues with the way to bring up children its unlikely that wouldve got married.
Re: Shia / Sunni Marriages
wadera: shia community isnt as small as you percieve. There are plenty of eligible people, and those who arent eligible anymore, well they're struck off next years Eid list. simple logic really. Its not easy to get rich on charity, once you've become stable enough, you start paying zakaat. The cycle continues.
Re: Shia / Sunni Marriages
Orginally iam suni.. but my family is not every strick in these shia and sunni concept.. .. my family members do marry shia and my own chachi is shia.. :)
about kids.. so for me it will make no difference if the father wanted the kids to be shia.. or sunni.. for me both of them are muslims :)
Re: Shia / Sunni Marriages
She thinks hitting the chest with your palms can kill you. Really.
Re: Shia / Sunni Marriages
Who hasn’t seen it specially those who’ve lived in Pakistan? Everyone has. I’ve seen it on tv and also with my own eyes. I don’t care if its like hitting yourself with swords or just a slight pat on your chest coz whatever they do it’s still called beating your chest which i think is inappropriate at someone’s death and Mr. Game knows how much I’m against it (no offense). Oh well my kids are not doing that. They can just go to the majlis if their dad wants them to. If he doesn’t care then I won’t make them go.
Re: Shia / Sunni Marriages
2- well i’m not saying it’s wrong to combine prayers. I know that Islam has a lot of exceptions for you. As about combining them well when we do that the niyat has to be that you’re making a kaza and you can only combine zuhar with asar (not asar with zohar) and maghrib with isha (not isha with maghrib). My point was more towards praying BEFORE the right time. I hope no one does that.
3 - still pretty weird to me. but oh well i dont want to know why it’s different.
4 - and i thought all muslims were supposed to help other muslim brothers and sisters but oh well. i heard that prophet’s (saww) generation/family are not allowed to get zakat. i just “heard” it not read it anywhere. and is it right that shia believe they’re somehow related to prophet’s family?
Re: Shia / Sunni Marriages
You guys are cute.
Re: Shia / Sunni Marriages
no doubt shia guls are much cuter then sunniz in general but i'd rather marry any other sect of muslims then shiaz just to be on safe side.
yar not a sane person wud ever want their kids to get confused in religion atleast, i always look up to my dad for it .. he always kept us out of sunni,shia,ahle-hadith crap .. now even if u ask my brothers wat sect of muslims u belong? they wud say ** WE DONT KNOW ** becos the only diff they know is between shiita and rest of the muslims
its just hard ... i saw a part of that show and trust me there were so many points left untouched. for me personaly its hard because
****some of the SHIITAz NAOZUBILLAH believe that when Jibrael the angel was sent to Prophet Mohammad *pbuh it was suppoz to be sent to HAZRET ALI rta
*SHIItA KALMA IS CHANGE FROM THE REST
**THEY GOT LESS KALMAz THEN REST
**THEY PRAY THE DIFFERENT WAY
**DURING PRAY WAT THEY READ IS DIFF TOO
**THEY SAY * yaa Ali Madad ** instead of saying SALAM
*THEY TORTURE THEMSELVES even after islam forbids to
**in one SHIITA LIVE SPEECH I HEARD THE MOLVI SAYING .. Naaozubillah .. Prophet Mohammad's *pbuh first wife was virgin .. she was never married to anybody b4 Mohammad pbuh
*SHIITA PPL CURSE ON 4 IMAAMs
**THEY HAVE THEIR OWN 12 IMAAMs
* THEY PRAY 2 PRAYERS AT A TIME when the rest of the muslimz are only allowed when its a real emergency
** THEY BELIEVE THAT *** SYEDs *** GOT THE UPPER HAND OVER REST OF MUSLIMS even when prophet pbuh said it clear on last HAJJ KHUTBA
i think its worth-it to sacrifice my **LOVE** to abstain from all above and keep my kids away from it.
how do i know this all ?
coz my best ever friend is *a and we have shared every single thing .. we were friend above this religion arguement .. ive praid in *A MESJID .. ive heard ****A lectures .. Ive been to their MAJLISes so many times .. Ive been there while they were doing matham
and yall know wat ....
*** my friend never hurt himself of thos knives and chains just cos i hatred it and i logically made it clear to him .. they use to DONATE their blood instead of draining it down the gutter.
p/s: have u ever seen a gora turning ****ta ? atleast ive never seen it or may be it do happen once in a blue moon.
Re: Shia / Sunni Marriages
man you guys are so ignorant... lol...
Re: Shia / Sunni Marriages
fayz
i would have never married a sunni girl..my wife has to share the same beliefs..i agree with ma mooli..if you are just naam ka shia/sunni then you wouldnt care how your kids are raised
