^yeh big boss nai, tv drama hai ! :halo:
Re: Shehr e Zaat by HUM TV
when did I say it is a bad thing ? I just compared the script and the play because someone said they might change the ending :halo:
Re: Shehr e Zaat by HUM TV
^^ I think the words and icon you chose implied that maybe...but anyway my bad if you didn't mean it. :)
I absolutely loved the latest episode. Only one little niggling thing though. The scene with the boy outside Falak's car was very poignant but I wish Falak had gone out of the car to attend the boy's injuries. The kind of changes we have seen in her as a person, you would have expected her to put the injured boy in her car and take him to the hospital. Her reluctance seemed odd.
But apart from that, there were so many scenes which I just loved. The scene where Mahira is listening to the boy's sister and then gives her a gentle hug. Her expressions were priceless. And when she confronts her mother near her closet, the dialogues were enough to give me goosebumps and the whole scene was flawless to say the least. I didn't know she had so much talent in her! The credit also goes to Sarmad for executing the story so beautifully and extracting such talent out of Mahira. I don't normally watch any drama twice but I think this one will be an exception.
Re: Shehr e Zaat by HUM TV
So I started following this play a bit late, and have caught up on all the episodes in about a week. I had to forward thru samina peerzada’s preachy scenes. I’m kind of tired of seeing her in these preachy OTT roles.
However, Mahira has totally outdone herself in the last few episodes. She befits the role perfectly. Some powerful dialogues by Umera Ahmad, well executed by Sarmad. Tabinda’s character remains a mystery to me, I don’t know why she had to be so unrefined/crass, her character could’ve been more grey since this was about Falak’s self introspection, and less about other people. And why is Mahira so pretty?
She’s gorgeous in that green sari.
And can anyone tell me which episode had that deewar and bail dialogue?
Re: Shehr e Zaat by HUM TV
^^^ the bail and deewar scene is another one of my favourites. I believe it is in episode 13, but maybe someone else can also confirm. I agree about Tabinda's portrayal too. I haven't read the novel, so not sure if Umera described her as such or if it is purely Sarmad's own interpretation of Tabinda's role.
Re: Shehr e Zaat by HUM TV
I never watched it from the beginning. It seemed too preachy and Falak’s character was boring for me.
I started watching it a few weeks ago (after they got married onwards) and the last 3-4 episodes have been really nice.I am actually enjoying it now.
I agree with you about the Nani’s character and the weird character Tabinda has been shown to be.I have loved Mahira’s acting as Falak and the dialogues have been really thought provoking and powerful (esp the ones from the last episode in front of her closet with her mother).I have not read the novel and I am looking forward to the end.
The bail & dewaar scene is in episode 13.

She only mentioned clothes and expensvie cars as asraaf, nail polish ka zikar kahin nahi tha. Wo mehangi cheezon main nahi aati na. :D
Re: Shehr e Zaat by HUM TV
haan ye to hai, yahan per to 3 aed ki b nail polish mil jati hai ![]()
Re: Shehr e Zaat by HUM TV
without nani's character you cant justify the change to Mahira's innerself, as transition has somewhat link to nani's preaching.
Re: Shehr e Zaat by HUM TV
yup true
Re: Shehr e Zaat by HUM TV
lol @ falak's mom telling her about clothes designs n cuts :Dn she was like "mom accident nai dekha kya"
and yes nani's character is very important....she wants them to follow Allah's path instead of clothes n jewellery.....and has experience of life...
n they wanted to show that falak was(regularly!) adviced about following religion but she didnt care....
Re: Shehr e Zaat by HUM TV
I'm a drama junky , watch around 12 /14 ish a week so basically I don't have high standard - watch just about everything on tele lol farigh baandey ka kaam :P yet I have not been able to get into sher e zaat even until now !!!! I'm never like " oh can't wait to the next eipsode." The suspense element hasn't been there for me at least ... anyone else feel the same way ? or am I the odd one ? lolz
Re: Shehr e Zaat by HUM TV
^ the first few episodes kept me guessing and anxious for the upcoming episode. However ever since Tabinda was disclosed, I don't seem to watch it with the same eagerness. So, you're not alone. :)
Re: Shehr e Zaat by HUM TV
^ the story is not supposed to be about surprises and a-ha moments. It is not really a "drama" in what is termed as drama these days thanks to A&B productions and all.
To me SeZ is like reading a really good book which makes me do some self-introspection. It is meant to make you think and evaluate what you might be doing in your life that is similar to these characters and how you can improve yourself and become closer to your Creator.
If you are watching this drama for just finding out what will happen to salman, falak, and Tabinda then it is definitely not your cup of tea.
Re: Shehr e Zaat by HUM TV
^ thats really sad..we went to our neighbours in ramzan(iftar party)....so i asked for qibla (for maghrib namaz ofcourse)n they didnt know...then i figured the directions from my home as it was located opposite to theirs....
carry the Azaan app on your smart phone. It helps out when you are out and it is salah time and you need to pray and need the qibla direction. :)

yes I have watched a few scenes a couple of times just because the dialogues and acting are so powerful that you need a 2nd listen to digest it all and HOPEFULLY implement some of it in my own life.
Re: Shehr e Zaat by HUM TV
I dont know but something is missing in this drama. its not a gripping one so far. Just my opinion obviously.
Re: Shehr e Zaat by HUM TV
Why does every drama have to be about entertainment only? There is hardly anything on Pakistani TV which forces us to reflect on our lives in a thoughtful manner. We only have the two extremes depicted in shows on TV. It is either the Taliban way or the vomit inducing ultra modern and liberal way! You only have to browse the 'celebrity pics' thread to see what is being shoved down our throats forcefully! There is not much on TV which strikes the chord with us ordinary Pakistanis, majority of whom are muslims.
This is where Shehr e Zaat is successful. It is taking the balanced approach very well and more importantly, it touches the nerve with many of us. I understand that not everyone has to like it, but by calling it preachy or uninteresting some of you are missing the point altogether.
