Call me shallow.. call me whatever but I have a big problem with Tabinda's character. This would never ever happen in real life, (not that dramas always portray all real things). A man like Salman in real life would never fall in love with a factory worker like Tabinda. Use her yes, and then move on with his life, but NOT FALL IN LOVE the way they have shown Salman to be.
I knew someone in my extended family who was super rich,business/factory owner, very successful, had a mansion as a home (wasn’t good looking at all though..!),was married and had three teenaged kids…The first wife was from a really nice family too..
He fell in love with a girl who was a worker at his factory..he got married to her secretly…that girl was not from an affluent background like himself..
When the news came out (that was when he had a baby with the new wife),the man’s mom does of a sudden heart attack..
There was enough drama associated with it…or so I heard…
Today he has luxurious homes for both wives each and all the kids are on pretty good terms (not sure about the wives).
Yehi tou sarri baat hai, uss ka Tabinda ki kis ada pe dil aaya hai?
she isn’t good looking
speaks like an illeterate person when talking to him on the phone
doesn’t seem humble or sincere to him
Let’s say he is bored of his wife or never was in love with her, but what does Tabinda have to offer that wife can’t/isn’t?!?! I don’t have a problem with the factory worker part, I have a problem with a factory worker LIKE Tabinda.
Perhaps they’ll reveal more in the coming episodes but at this point I don’t agree with the turn this drama has taken.
Oh I know someone in my family too who is very good looking, fell in love with a factory worker who probably half as good as his wife. He and his wife had two children. The guy was disown from his own family after he divorced his wife to marry the factory worker. His own wife stayed with his parents, got his share of properties from his parents and started working to be on her own to support her kids. Its kinda like Shehr e Zaat and Yahan Pyar nahi hai story mix :D
I wonder if the character in the novel is like the on screen Tabinda as well...??..I am sure must be close..
The way she was maybe chewing a gum and talked to Salman on the phone when he called her was so jaahil and such a turn off...

I completely agree. The only way i could have seen this working ( I am beginning to sound like a broken record now) is if tabinda was the opposite of all the women in Salman's life: opposite of shallow, self-centered and materialistic.
For all of you are questioning Tabinda character, yeah I wondered the same thing. But isn't the point of the drama to show Falak what she really is....like her zaat. She thinks she has it all, but her husband, who she literally worships, falls for someone completely different, to kinda show her its not an ideal life. I mean you can tell the disappointment on Falaks own face too when Tabinda walks in on the scene, and she is sorta surprised at how she looks.
The article above, in 2nd paragraph, summarizes the point well.
And I actually liked Mahira Khan in the last episode.
they should have shown tabinda as an ordinary looking girl instead of ugly!...if they want to show that only looks doesnt matter in a good relationship and you cant get whatever you want if you are rich....

Errr..why would you call Nadia Afghan or indeed any other human being ugly??? I think she IS befitting in the role of an 'ordinary looking' girl. Although I have to say, If she was shown as a down to earth humble woman that would have made more sense. These attributes would have made the fact more believable that Salman couldn't help fall in love with her.
I am well impressed with Mahira in this. She has improved her performance immensely since Humsafar. You can tell she totally gets into the character and everything from her dialogue delivery to her expressions to her dresses has just been WOW! Loved her monologue near the pond. The analogy of a woman being a 'bail' and the man being the 'deewar' was so beautiful. Hats off to Umera Ahmed for bringing tears in the eyes of some of the wives here! :)
Loved the last episode! Mahira Khan was FANTASTIC esp in those last few scenes by the pond and sitting on the bench when Naani comes. Fabulous dialogues by Umera Ahmed. I've watched the pond scene numerous times and I get emotional every time I hear Falak describe a woman. WOW!
As far as Tabinda and Salman are concerned, Falak will say in the next episode "woh tow wohi dekh raha hai jo Allah ussay dekhana chahta hai". So now Salman has turned into what Falak used to be when we all were going "why would you go for a guy like Salman??"
Dil ajeeb shay hai naani :) a perfect real life example that we all heard about in showbiz was the Azfar-Salma-Naveen triangle. We all went really? what did Naveen see in Azfar didn't we? What was Azfar thinking?
From my perspective we cannot just say it is unimaginable that a guy like Salman would fall for someone like Tabinda.

no doubt i loved mahira's acting in last episode!!!
she's improving!
Today's episode made me think why did they have to show the Tabinada character to be a jaahil ganwar ...??..and then have a khaufnaak past history as well...
She could have been lesser in looks than Falak...and be after Salman's money but why does she have to chew like a cow...and whats the stuff she keeps on eating...??
How can a man shown like Salman fall in love, crazy crazy mad mad love with a character like her...!?!??!
i have known so many posh girls and way too well off ladies around but trust me they do not become so religious after and just about any mis hap. heck they just cant stop roaming around and going for shopping n stuff
ok i understand the morale of the story is very good but, in reality i have not at all come across anyone as such who after so much glitz n glam turns religious… especially in this age level!!!
Just because we dont know what happens in everyone lives , doesnt mean it doesnt happen. and anyways i think the story is more about Falak then Salman or Tabinda...how Falak comes to realize that there is more to life.
Read an awesome review for episode 14. puts a lot of things in perspective!
