Shariat in Pakistan

Re: Shariat in Pakistan

FYI, this method of elections is borrowed from the Ancient Greeks...

Re: Shariat in Pakistan

ancient Greeks had PHD degrees?

Re: Shariat in Pakistan

in the shariat based pakistan, would restaurants be serving lobsters and crabs?

Re: Shariat in Pakistan

hahah … chalo at least they won’t be consumed to extinction in a “shari’at” based society lol

Re: Shariat in Pakistan

most likely yes. A shariat based Pakistan should be according to the common grounds of all school of thoughts. It will be individual’s own choice to follow whichever school of thought he chooses to follow…

back in the time of Ottoman Empire (Khilaafat-e-Usmaaniya), there used to be common meetings of scholars of all schools in the veranda of Jamia Masjid Bahgdad… Shariat and Khilaafat (though some of its period consists of Monarchy) survived back then, why can’t it now?

Re: Shariat in Pakistan

Mocking owns you... the idea is that the more learned people of society were given prevelance in politics and rule...

Re: Shariat in Pakistan

isn't it common sense anyway?

Re: Shariat in Pakistan

I give up :)

Re: Shariat in Pakistan

yaani keh maloom hua keh mut'aa ki qanooni haisyat bhi shariah mein qabil e qabool ho gi janaab?

Re: Shariat in Pakistan

In my understanding, Athna Asha'ri/Fiqh Jafriya followers can practice it, but then, how many of them practially practice these days in Pakistan or elsewhere?

Re: Shariat in Pakistan

In my understanding , implementing Shariyat in a country like Pakistan is very hard, almost impossible, may many people here don’t like me saying it but I am just calling a spade a spade . As one of our poster , Code Red , stated that so far we have seen three different versions or models of self proclaimed or imposed Islamic Shariah, where he described Iran as progressive and Saudi Arabia Static , let us just forget tablianic version for a mo because it wasn’t as gradual and persistent as other two are.
The only sole reason, in my humble opinion , made KSA and Iran successful in implementing their own version of Islamic sharia is , dominance of one fiqa or sect in their countries , as Iran has 90% Shia population where KSA is estimated to have 90 % or more population following salafi or whahbi version of Islam. ( Source wikipedia) .But if you consider Pakistan for this experiment , it’s a different ball game as by one estimate, in Pakistan, Muslims are divided into different schools: the Barelvis 38%, Deobandis 55%, Ithna Ashari 5% ( I think it must be over 10 %) , Ahle Hadith 1%, Ismailis 1%, Bohras 0.25%, and other smaller sects.( source wikipedia).

So if u want to implement sharia in pakistan , it has to be done step by step , here I mean, at first it should be implemented on a small group or area and the best way to do it , start from your own home as charity should begin at home and you will get more birds of same feathers willing to flock together. But it should all be done on the right time, for the right purpose and in the right way because in this time and era , one can’t just simply go out and star dictating things to people .

Re: Shariat in Pakistan

I really want people to answer these questions. It is imperative people know the answers to these questions if they are in the camp that desires Shariat to be implemented in Pakistan and worldwide.

So far, I've had 2 guppies try to answer the questions.

Really, people. I can guarantee you that "following directions" is an integral part of Shariah, what with how one poster has discussed having a group of muslims enforcing Shariah in a Shariah state. And yet, only 2 people here actually followed directions.

Re: Shariat in Pakistan

You sound it like those questions are all which make up shariat. Interestingly, Shariat does not depend on the questions raised.

IMO, meherealone has answered it quite closely... there might be only minor difference of opinions with him but of course negligible. Answering them again is redundant and waste of time.

The important thing is that Sharia requires an Islamic Welfare state first and top most. Most of the questions will not even arise once a just system of welfare is imposed and a need of many professions which arises due to poverty will be gone.

An ideal Islamic state with proper shariah will not even have to face many of the issues let alone answering them.

Re: Shariat in Pakistan

Do you view the career of a museum guide and a guitar player and any career that a woman takes as careers that have risen out of poverty?

Re: Shariat in Pakistan

and where did I mention those are haram? To declare things like these haraam or halal is not my jurisdiction; however, the obvious like cultivating poppy field for the purpose of getting intoxic drugs is haram nonetheless.

I stronlgly think that such trick questions required Scholarly debate; if you think you are an scholar, keep doing that.

oh and for women career etc. I never saw known scholars declaring that haram... can you provide a link where you got that info?

Re: Shariat in Pakistan

Well there's a pretty vocal poster here who holds that women shouldn't work. I forget his name - he lives in some Arab country. He's got a wife and a kid.

I'm braindead right now. Can't remember the screenname.

Anyway, I never said poppy fields are halaal or haraam. If you notice, not all the questions are in the format of "Would X be allowed?, given that X = great, in my book".

Regardless, please other people answer those questions. I'm really interested in seeing people's interpretation of Shariat.

Re: Shariat in Pakistan

Sure, let others answer for you.

Enjoy :)

Re: Shariat in Pakistan

a guiter player and a museum guide can find better jobs in an islamic welfare state, furthermore by this logic we shouldnt shut down casinos either because we will make all the poor waiters there jobless

Re: Shariat in Pakistan

oh go further down and talk about red light areas as well :)

Re: Shariat in Pakistan

Well, then we're getting down to the nittry gritty - the Quran talks against gambling and prostitutes, so its a no brainer to shut down those institutions, but it certainly doesn't mention shutting down museums. If it does, please PM me the verse (I'd be personally interested in reading it).

Again, lets get back to the topic. I just need the questions answered. I don't really care to debate them - you can open a separate thread on museums if you like.
