If the option of instituting Shariah does get entertained by the present regime, tonight, what would your stances be on the following issues?
Should the Hudood Ordinance - the law that a rape victim must present 4 witnesses for her words to hold true in court - be kept? (I’m not sure if this was recently ammended, but this law is considered to be part of Shariat by many people in Pakistan).
What would be a woman’s dress code? Be specific. (i.e. Burqa, eyes showing/not showing, face showing/not showing, hijab, dupatta, etc).
What would the education system look like - who would get educated? What subjects would be taught and what subjects would be banned? Will girls get educated? What level of education would be mandatory?
What would be the treatment towards imams who say we should strap up bombs and do suicide bombings in Pakistan and Afghanistan, and Iraq?
Would art museums stay or go?
Would people be allowed to publish fiction literature?
What importance would the sciences get? (ex. medicine, engineering, basic sciences, research).
Would women be able to hold jobs?
How would the state handle the problem of orphans and widows - be specific.
What would happen to the poppy fields in NWFP?
Will the cinema houses stay or go?
How will the face of Pakistani television change?
Would Roxen be allowed to perform? (Roxen is a band)
^ These are questions asking you what you'd prefer. So, what country have I described that you're saying "that's not the country for me".
Seriously, people...notice the question marks.
I am simply playing along with the make-believe considering all these questions are answered in ways such as "all music banned? yes"...
Will men be allowed to not keep beared?
Will people be allowed to wear western cloths (pant, shirt etc.)?
Will women be allowed to get education and work?
Will people be forced to learn Arabic?
What will happen to Shia? Will they be treated the same way Qadianis are today?
What will happen to Ahle Hadith?
What will happen to Brailvis?
Who will become Khlaifa and how will he get selected (democracy is not allowed in Sharia Law)?
Will Pakistan exist as a separate state or invade other muslim countries to create a single muslim state under a single Khalifa (selected for life)?
Will this single muslim state be in a state of war with the rest of the world until they surrender and convert?
Good thread but obviosly by nature of questions, none of the religiious morons who jump up and down about "is it permissible to shave armpits or is it haraam" will have the balls to respond. Under Sharia, most of these morons will have had their members cut off and backsides whipped for preaching falsehoods. Now let ME tell you what would happen:1. Truer religion wiull prevail2m misconceptions such as subordination of women will be cleared3. An islam suitable to modern civilisation will emerge4. Musharf will be caliph (but no harem for him though)
If you have done your research before, you wouldnt even pose this question.
There is something called hadd punishments and tazeri punishments.
Hadd can only be carried if their are 4 witnesses.
If there are no 4 witnesses, then tazeri punishment is carried.
So what ever you have said is rubbish and lie.
Read this link, and will answer your question about this. Its the other way around, and not what you have been led belief by secularist and enemies of ISLAM.
Sir, I ask you to keep your tone controlled and check your words. Another example of a great muslim you are.
I was asking a question, not making a statement, so there is no way I could have told a lie. That is the Hudood Ordinance that has been present in Pakistan for a very long time. What the actual Islamic stance is, was not even mentioned in the question. My question is - would that particular law stay or go?
Here is another question for you - For a rape, does the rapist get a Hadd punishment or a Tazeri punishment?
I am not going to debate the contents of your link with you, because you're going to love side-tracking this conversation. (You're more than welcome to trouble yourself to open a new thread).
Would that Hudood Ordinance stay or would it go (pre 2006 Bill)?
The Shariah Bill has to been seen in a wider pespective and a holistic apporach has to be adopted. The questions asked in this thread...are trivial and sort of misguiding....lts like I say that we are going to move in a house next year.....and then kids start asking
Will we have blue paint or yellow paint? Will we have a cherry tree or....plum tree...
What would be a woman's dress code? Be specific. (i.e. Burqa, eyes showing/not showing, face showing/not showing, hijab, dupatta, etc).

How will people of other faiths and their places of worship be treated?
they are to respected and guarenteed right of existence and worship on the payment of a tax by which they will be exempted from military service [conscription]
For hadd to be implemented, there has be to 4 witnesses, otherwise tazeri punishment is implemented. You can refer to the link I have posted above. Mufti Taqi Usmani was judge of the Supreme Court for few decades and have heard many cases related to these issues, so if you really want to learn more, atleast read that article with an open mind.
Khanbabax, most rapes don't occur in the middle of public, so getting 4 witnesses would be difficult. Given that, your publication reference asks for undeniable reason to believe the victim for the rapist to get the tazeri punishment, what recourse does a woman have under these "Islamic laws" if she has been raped, and only she and her rapist know it?
Das Reich, this forum has given us the ability to put forth differing views and come to a point that we can disagree over something and walk away unharmed and with no consequence.
What about in the world of Shariah - what level of disagreement is tolerated there?
I guess that means every one will be forced to fight in war.
This is what Dr. Israr Ahmed has to say to this question:
“Non-muslims will not be allowed to preach or publicly practice their religion. They will not be allowed to hold any high office in civil or military service. They will have to live like little brother under big brother.”
THe biggest question is whose Sharia is going to be used to determine who is muslim and who is not. Deobandis, Bralvis, Shias, Ahle Hadees consider each other non-muslims. Al of them except one is going to have to suffer.
