Re: Secularism vs Islam - Something to think about...
AK, ignorance is not an excuse. In secular societies people have at least recognized the problems and tried to find a solution to anti social activities in an human way, whereas Islamic society is blind towards its own evils.
By the way Ak, why you are always abusive.
Re: Secularism vs Islam - Something to think about...
forget it
Re: Secularism vs Islam - Something to think about…
Secualrism never solved any problems they just multiply, thats the whole point!
As for islamic society a society cannot solve problems on its own it needs an islamic system applied on it to function, applying secular systems as per today on islamic society just aint gonna work for obvious reasons.
Re: Secularism vs Islam - Something to think about...
Many people don't consider lashings, stonings and mutilations as "solutions" or anything to do with religion, rule of law or civilized society.
Re: Secularism vs Islam - Something to think about...
And many people do. so whats your point?
ps- i take it capital punishment is a good 'solution' too?
Re: Secularism vs Islam - Something to think about...
The point is that it scriptural dictated punishments are no more a solution to societal woes than if those laws were inacted by a non-Islamic state.
Re: Secularism vs Islam - Something to think about...
well they work bloody well as a deterrent. prevention is better than cure no?
Re: Secularism vs Islam - Something to think about...
So what you are saying is it does not solve the problems, only disguises them. If an Islamic state can only offer bigger and better ways to torture and execute people ,then I request that you or Caliph akkk47 please enlighten me to the enlightened way of life.
Re: Secularism vs Islam - Something to think about...
And the islamaphobic comments continue if your minute knowlwdge of islam is restricted to execution and torture justs shows you have no clue about islam whatsoever if you really want to study torture and execution join the Pervert amerikkkan army in Iraq!
Re: Secularism vs Islam - Something to think about…
Thanks AK, for a non abusive reply. And also enlighten us how many hundered years you require to create an Islamic system, hence its already 1400 years gone.
Re: Secularism vs Islam - Something to think about…
No. i said its a prevention. pray tell, whats the dentist chair in the US for if it aint execution?
well thats what im here for. j/k
Actually, the justice system that your advocating aint too apealing either. Take the example of the Guilford 4 and Maguire 7, whats an apology gonna do after 15 yrs in jail for summat you didnt do? It happened to them, it can happen to anyone.
Re: Secularism vs Islam - Something to think about...
AKKK47, please enlighten me as to how an Islamic State sovles societal problems outside of physical punishments. And BTW, any perceived Islamaphobia I may have is overshadowed by your insulting secularphobic, western-hating disdain for everything non-Islamic
Re: Secularism vs Islam - Something to think about…
Actually i dont personally require it the entire billions of muslims require it.
And you are about 1300 years out its 81 year since the previous islamic state!
Re: Secularism vs Islam - Something to think about…
anti western ummm i think you should change that to anti amerikkkan government and military.
As for secualrism its failed idea
As for your lack of information regarding islam, If you want to know about islam here is a link http://www.google.com type islam in the search box and filter through the junk then you should get a few sites to enlighten you on islam.
Re: Secularism vs Islam - Something to think about...
Secularism has been around and flourishing for hundreds of years as oppposed to the religous state which was failing for hundreds of years and is now non-existent. What you call Islamic state from the early 20th century was hardly a thriving, functioning and improving society. It was a skeleton of what is was in its heydey. It outlived its usefulness and went the way of other failed governments of the past.
Instead of pointing to me to google, what can't you tell me how an Islamic state will solve societal problems outside of servere punishments, especially for non Muslims within the state. I've been reading and posting here for over 3 years. How long have you been reading and interacting on secular, American bulletin board? Who is the one with lack of information?
Re: Secularism vs Islam - Something to think about...
Let's keep this simple and with the strict definitions.
Secularism = The doubt of religious tenets.
This I would suppose without much reasoning would be in direct conflict with Islamic ideology personal or state imposed.
Is there such a thing as a secular Muslim? Can there be?
Re: Secularism vs Islam - Something to think about...
This thread is based on idiotic understanding of language and concepts.
Secular does not mean Godless or anti-religion. It is simply lack of a preferred one.
Islam is not the only religion that secularism is, well, secular about. Take a number.
Finally, nobody is attacking Islam. Osama and the like attacked us in the name of Islam.
Go to grammar school or something.
Re: Secularism vs Islam - Something to think about...
Secularism anf faith (in religion) are not contradictory. Muslims must know that secularism does not mean athiesm.
Secularism as an ideology gives equal rights to all members of the societiy.
If Muslims reject all Islamic States of being Islamic, Islam itself becomes a failed ideology.
AK, anything not according to your choice that happened just 5 or 6 years back, you reject as anti Islamic propaganda, and here you stick to beleive in some utopia 81 years old state.
Re: Secularism vs Islam - Something to think about...
I suggest you two visit with a dictionary and do a little deeper thinking.
