Re: Second Marriage?
Read the verses on polygamy and then talk. You're not supposed to marry out of lust.
hmmm from what I have read on GS, that's exactly the reason men can have multiple wives.

Re: Second Marriage?
When Monk mentions his “brother,” it refers to Nutwer.
Re: Second Marriage?
I have never, NEVER seen a woman happy in polygamy, and I have come across many of them. They are utterly miserable. its not really sharing, it's imposed upon them.
Re: Second Marriage?
I wonder if he’d even miss his wife…IF …she were to find ANOTHER man…someone who values her more. Often times we don’t realize what we had until it’s gone.
Re: Second Marriage?
... just like how you have the right to marry again, she has the right to walk out of a loveless marriage and refuse to be taken as a commodity. A woman's life is not jsut about raising kids but about being loved as well ...
Who knows , once she moves away from you, she might find someone who will truely value her for who she is and love her in a much better way as compared to you
He wants to have his cake and eat it too.
Re: Second Marriage?
Yeah, cuz a woman like her would even be able to get remarried. No job, prolly no education, a kid in tow, an ex-husband who married WHILE she was still married to him..do you know that she'll be seen as someone who couldn't satisfy her husband, and someone who is damaged goods.
Her future is GONE.
Re: Second Marriage?
She probably never had a future PyariC. What a horrendous situation for her. I hate spineless people
Re: Second Marriage?
What? This is a joke right? Of course. You saw that we were missing a juicy thread in Life1, so you opened this one. That can be the only logical explanation for this. Otherwise, you are quite an anus!
Re: Second Marriage?
he can assure her all he like, it's not gna b the same. He is already so patronising towards her and he hasn't even married this other girl yet.
How is he patronizing towards her? He's stated repeatedly that she's a great wife, and has never complained about anything despite there being a strain in their relationship.
I know it's really hard to imagine sharing your husband with another woman, but honestly, it's doable. =/ My family is friends with a few Arab (Saudi and Bahrain) families and these men have married more than once, and their wives live together...happily. My mom has expressed disbelief to them on numerous occasions and they laugh it off...they find comfort in each other, "like having a sister" - their words. I can't believe how women are reacting to this...just because we've lived in a society that teaches us monogamy is the only way, doesn't mean polygamy is wrong/not doable. Sure it may be tough on the girl, but that's if he approaches the situation really harshly. Rather than calling him names and saying he's a beghairat insaan for wanting to marry twice, offer constructive advice. Our religion does allow for this - there's nothing wrong with it.
PCG - I thought the reason for marrying more than once was bcos of lust...to avoid adultery. =/

Thats bcuz they have been brainwashed for generations. Why acceptable then?

So wen women feel for another man outside their marriage, wat are their options? And again a lot of women are in loveless marriages.

Ok, then i offer a rebuttal of we've been brainwashed for generations to believe monogamy is the best solution. Doesn't make sense, right?
I don't know if you're Muslim or not, but I'm using my religious background heavily here. If a woman feels for a man outside of her marriage, she has the option of divorce. In Islam, women aren't allowed to marry multiple times for simple reasons...who's the parent of the kid that would be born of those relationships? Sure, DNA testing is great, but it can be forged. Also, men are VERY possessive. We see this in nature, we see this in our daily lives. Women are more emotionally attached to one person, whereas men do wander. I'm not trying to simplfiy this down to like..animal insticts..but it's true in a lot of cases. Men are slightly higher cheaters.
Re: Second Marriage?
**Also, men are VERY possessive. We see this in nature, we see this in our daily lives. Women are more emotionally attached to one person, whereas men do wander.
**Thats a huge generalisation. Women are also possessive. It's just that their spirits and sometimes bodies are crushed from birth so men can do anything and people wil be like aww boys will b boys. And who says women are emotionally attached to one person? Its cz they are dependent and kept that way by first parents and then spouses that they are attached.
And the parental thing it can be confirmed by DNA testing, do it from a reputable lab and it wont b forged.
Re: Second Marriage?
......... I told her about my family in London and that I would like to marry her, she said yes........
How do I break it to her?
how much did you told her? did you told her you have a kid?
Re: Second Marriage?
**If a woman feels for a man outside of her marriage, she has the option of divorce.
**How many women do you know with children who will remarry? It's really a non option.
Re: Second Marriage?
