Re: Scandalous or Shameless?
I am actually a huge fan of his. WHY? Because he's an intelligent, witty, well-read, and well-educated and knowledgeable individual. And yeah, so what if he's gay/bi/"try"/whatsoever? So many in the fashion industry are disgustingly and filthly gay and our Pakistani people, who are condemning BNA's here, are so proud of their involvement with that filth that they'd kiss those arses if need be. Talk about hypocrisy!
What I fail to understand is why he has to hide all these qualities of his behind a raunchy and sleazy facade. I would so much more rather see and hear him than those brainless, worthless, self-acclaimed, self-appraised, gay idiots that are being seen everywhere these days.
Re: Scandalous or Shameless?
^That's what I'm wondering!
If he's intelligent and capable of so much more, why resort to such cheap things to make a name for yourself? It's just so unnecessary.
^ Some questions are never answered even when asked a million times. For example, why did Hitler decide to kill the jews?
Some people are just born with a messed up brain!
By the way, has anyone seen this indian gay guy? His name is Rahul (i think) and he appeared in the big boss show. I don't watch that show but I saw him on youtube.... which reminds me... anyone seen CHRIS CROCKER?
And the weird thing is... all of them are soo famous!
Re: Scandalous or Shameless?
^Rahul Mahajan? He's the son of a very famous politician who was murdered by his brother few years back.
Or wait, are you talking about Rohit, the gay fashion designer? lol.

lolzz yeah sorry.. Rohit Verma.. not rahul
I just saw a short clip of him on youtube so I don't really know him or how scandalous he is. He was at some award ceremony and he was giving interview to the media, being grateful for how people have accepted him...
Re: Scandalous or Shameless?
i remember watching this when it was aired on the bbc... me and my mum were like O M G
He's said on numerous interviews he's neither gay nor bi nor tri or any other "I".
What's sickening is his flirtatuous gestures and suggestive talks with his guests.. most of them seem so uncomfortable. Sad bit is that he's an educated individual..
LOL
sorry but that made me laff
The girl in the white top and long curly hair looks like Sarwat Gillani.
Re: Scandalous or Shameless?
I think that since the image of Pakistan in the west has been painted so bad that the so called educated show biz celebrities have taken it to heart and a lot of them have become psychos and are on the roll to show people that Pakistan is not as bad as they think it is...hence they've become shameless and have lost their top slots thus such stunts are pulled by them...Not even the Indians do such crass things be it celebrities even the real Tranny Bobby darlings talks within limits of shame...our celebrities just think its cool and they are portraying a different image of the country in peoples minds yet are unaware that they look cheap, crass and vulgar! just like this THING! i really think people should really stop trying so hard now...
Re: Scandalous or Shameless?
this is a very pertinent saying that I heard in class: " fml. girl's a dude".
Re: Scandalous or Shameless?
it is disgusting to see him like that....he is very educated...i mean the way he speaks it does show that he belongs to a parhi likhi filmi...but he shouldnot be doing stuff like this

ya i agree, in order to portray a more liberal, educated and 'normal' side of Pakistan some have taken the wrong approach to do so. intention might be good but the msg coming across is very contradicting actually, he is coming across as someone very desperately repressed.
even though his show isn't my cup of tea, I don't understand the outrage. to each his own. I'd still rather see him on TV than maulana Aamir Bakwaasi Liaqat Munafiq Hussain... jackass was a Muttahida Qaatil Movement's badmaash and now he dispenses one-way tickets to heaven? oh please give me a break... these MQM terrorist thugs aren't worthy of being called human beings... and now they're on TV and preach Islam to me. well, fk you. Ali Saleem deserves to be on TV more than maulana Junaid Jamshed (what a sad loss), Shahid Mossad, Najam Sethi, Mubashar Luqman, etc. if he's going to be kicked out of Pakistan/banned, so should Aamir Munafiq Liaqat, Shahid Mossad, etc.
and I'm pretty positive that if Ali Saleem was an Indian, we'd be lapping up his show as if it were mann salva descended straight from heaven. on the same note, how are Ali Saleem and his show disgusting and Indian filams not? don't understand why do people who lap up all kind of Bollywood softcore have a problem with Ali Saleem's show.
not a fan of his show but he is a smart individual. saw his interview with Farah on ATV and he came across as a pretty sensible person. and also got a shock when he mentioned that he actually went to the same high school as moi. must have been there before my time.
I really agree with you!
Re: Scandalous or Shameless?

Re: Scandalous or Shameless?
He is ridiculously amazing. I love how he challenges the status quo.

PCG it takes a brave person to do all what he/she does.
KARACHI JOURNAL; When She Speaks, He’s Breaking All of Islam’s Taboos - New York Times
Ok, I don’t watch Pakistani television and I would be surprised if his show is still around but I am not sure how Ali Saleem can be included amongst those who are “ruining image of their country worldwide”. People leading bi, tri or whatever lifestyles are obviously not unique to Pakistan although there is a popular perception in the west at least that treatment of such people in an Islamic society like Pakistan is hostile at best. If we are so concerned about Pakistan’s image- which, to be honest, is more of a caricature of a land brimming with bearded fundos and chador clad women- then it should be some consolation to us that popularity of the begum bears testament to our acceptance of diversity. Interestingly BNA herself has pointed out the lack of “death threats” she has received and the disconnect between how Pakistan is perceived by outsiders and the reality within the country.
There is no dearth of maulanas and people masquerading as religious scholars ala Amir Liaquat Hussein dispensing advice on Pakistani channels so I don’t think a show like BNA’s, however outrageous, is something very ominous to national identity of the country.
Maybe because I am first and foremost an American, I am not uncomfortable with the idea of people who are different, and that includes their sexual orientation. It is unfortunate that Pakistan is one of the few countries where people are killed while dining in an Italian restaurant in Islamabad (their fault: too westernized?) and while marching in ashura processions (their fault: too heretical?) That is why I am heartened by a show like BNA; there is so much intolerance in Pakistani society that we need all the expressions of pluralism-cultural and otherwise.
