Neglecting all the scientific basics and facts, Saudi had accepted claim of sighting on Sunday 09 December 2007, and announced the beginning of Thul Hijjah to be on Monday 10 December 2007, and hence Eid will be on Wednesday 19 December 2007.
Arafat Day on Dec. 18
Arab News JEDDAH, 11 December 2007 — The Arafat Day, when pilgrims will stand in prayer in the plain of Arafat at the peak of Haj this year, will be on Dec. 18, the Supreme Judiciary Council announced yesterday. Eid Al-Adha will be on Dec. 19.
When in entire world, crescent could only be seen and that too with only optical aid in SouthWest Pacific, the Saudies claimed to have seen it in KSA on December 9, Sunday!
^ bhai meray the eid-ul-adha is 10 days after the new moon....
the moon has been spotted and i think even a first grade student can count 10 days after that to tell u when the eid is coming....
But it still does seem that Allah (SWT) has bestowed the Saudis with the best eyesight in the world ... MashaAllah! They always seem to be the first to announce?

You are in Bahrain! Did you see the moon on Sunday?
Or even did you see it on Monday? Being the 2nd day moon as per Saudies's claims, would have been seen by everyone there!
are you in the middle east? bhai...apne alaake mein chand dekho aur eid karo and for heaven's sake....Stop Whinging!
You are right! But people in the west who want to follow the saudies will create rift again among people over there! Two or three eids again this year!
You can never have one eid for everyone in the world, unless you follow the one opinion that one moon sighting is enough for everyone all over the world.
And expecting others to doctor moon sightings for people's comfort is a bit unrealistic.

Some can't count.
Saudis are responsible for split communities of Muslims all over the world. Nothing new.
^ saudis dont force others to follow their dates....
if the communities elsewhere can't find solutions for their problems u cant blame saudis for it....
i dont see why everyone always cries about this issue....
every eid u hear that saudis r wrong....
for God's sake tell me one good reason why anyone wud want to have eid/hajj/ramadan on the wrong day????
what possible benefit cud the saudis get out of this????
