No certainly not on the first day! But the on the 2nd day whoever goes for Maghrib prayers can easily look the 2nd day crescent. Nobody can deny it!

But as there was no crescent even on Monday Dec 10 on the western horizon of the KSA and Gulf, the Saudi claim of sighting it on Sunday Dec 9 is by all means false!

I am not saying that you saw it on the first claime Saudi day of Dec 9.

I am asking about on Monday Dec 10, when the moon could be seen each and everybody (who can see) by just having a glance over the western horizon.

saudis have always been hesitant about holding eid-ul-azha on a friday - moon or no moon.
while theres an old legend which says that the house of saud will fall if the big eid is held on a friday, i just think the sheikhs are lazy to go for two congregations on the same day.

even if they had let ail-qaada complete 30 days, the eid wud have fallen on thursday instead of the wednesday that it falls on now....
it still wont be on friday....

Nobody acutally saw it over there! They follow the astronomical birth of the moon but they do not acknowledge it openly!

whoever saw the moon on the 14th of zul-hijja wud witness for u that the night had a full moon, hence removing all doubts about the correctness of the date of hajj (and eid)....

so once again, we see all this hue and cry for nothing, and silly ppl continuing their usless (and baseless) practice of accusing saudis to be wrong always....

The moon almost becomes full on 13th night and it begins to wan from 15th night!
