Your post is useless, I’m not talking about Pakistan here. And even in Pakistan they don’t claim to follow shariah as you do.
Respected GS members!
What do you think of these videos? Is this all true?

Lusi he is not saying about true islam existing in saudi, the truth is there is hardly any left. people make up their own beliefs and view points and try to enforce that on others. He meant that he does not want people like hareem with their thoughts to come and live in saudi. Exactly lusi, islam does not mean opression and yet i know somethings in saudi are not right.
However we WOMEN in UAE are not oppressed:smack:
Re: Saudi Arabia
Just wearing a scarf won't make you a better muslim if you have loose charachter.
Re: Saudi Arabia
Oh ofcourse women in UAE are not opressed, there was a reason Benazir was living in Dubai....

Oh please i was never talking to you... i was saying in general and many a times Pakistan has been mentioned in this thread and that Pakistan point was just to compare with UAE because people have been saying UAE and Saudi are muslim countries and yet all this BS is happening here well all that BS happens in Pakistan too ... Plus it is not useless, you have no right to call anyone's post or reply useles..
It is useless to argue with you because you have made up your mind about something and unwilling to look at other people's opinions and perpectives. I am sorry hareem but this is the sad truth.
Oh ofcourse women in UAE are not opressed, there was a reason Benazir was living in Dubai....
Good so the points have been made,
People like designer bags all over the world not just in UAE
Women in UAE are not treated badly and people are not racist
UAE is a muslim country
UAE follows shariah
UAE UAE UAE.......
so please stop attacking UAE thank you ...
Re: Saudi Arabia
UAE follows shariah and is not racist...lol... I don't know about that but like any other muslim country, it is a muslim country with I guess good economy and stuff. :D
Re: Saudi Arabia
come on lusi u know what i meant... i am just tired of everyone pointing fingers at my country. you should look at your country and see what can be done and what is wrong and then go about calling stuff about other people's homes...
and i hate it when people have this pre concieved notions thoughts or ideas and they want to enforce them on everyone else. UAE is my home, i like it. Too bad you cannot.
It is as simple as that, stop attacking my country. England or America is not perfect tooo. And if you are feeling that sympathetic about muslims and muslim countries leave amerika and uk and come back and we will value your opinions more then, Just by sitting in western countries and attacking ours is not good enough.

yes well … you cannot seem to get something in your mind, may allah give you guidance hareem..
all the best for the future:rolleyes:
and btw that reply was for lusi not you… stop interfering in other people’s conversation. thanx
Re: Saudi Arabia
lolz... girl, I am not attacking your home. That was just my opinion based on the different experiences I have heard. Like I said there are good things about UAE and bad things aswell just like any other country. I don't think USA is a perfect country, I don't like many things over here and would like if efforts were made to change them. At the end of the day do I want to live in Canada or UK, not really; I love USA and it is my country. :D
I even sing "this land is your land, this land is my land..." on the independence day though I should try to keep my singing voice in the bathroom :D
Re: Saudi Arabia
exactly i love your post Lusi, everyone has many things to change, efforts to make. UAE is not perfect but it is a pretty good place to live in. I love UAE and it is my country! :) ...
End of story. Really you do? lol i know the UAE national anthem too by heart, and pakistan one and kuwaiti. Too bad i have not learnt the UK anthem .. god save the queen ..
Re: Saudi Arabia
I think I remember pakistan’s national anthem. “This land is your land…” is not national anthem but a patriotic song. I don’t know the national anthem or pledge of allegiance of USA ![]()
Re: Saudi Arabia
so what is the national anthem then of USA? really u do? it is pak sarzameen shaad baad, kishware haseen shaad baad, tunishaan azme ali shaan arz e pakistan markaze yakeen shaad baad! :D . .
i love pakistan! :D and UAE too :) .. lusi are u like an american?
Re: Saudi Arabia
Yeah I kind of remember it :D

People who are jumping up and down and crying ' don't attack my home ' 'don't attack my home' should learn from your post.
I have the same thoughts as yours. The reason why opened this thread because of my recent meeting with a friend from Saudi who were insisting me to move to Saudi because of it's ' islamic' mahol etc.
But some people are being very sensitive here and now they have started new whining threads in Life forum, they really need to grow up, they're not so little anymore.
Heh, no point arguing with kids still being fed by their mamas. Ask these same kids their opinion of Saudia / UAE 10-15 years into their practical life in these countries, that's when you're likely to find some practical and honest opinions about these lands. They're sure naive to the extent of stupidity about the lands they call their 'home'.
TLK, your fears of being held for baseless drug case is quite true and same goes for UAE. If you're held up in any sort of 'made up' or fake trial against you, do not expect any kind of justice. And also, you will not find many people in such government depts. speaking any other language than arabic. Even those who do, do not expect them to pay ANY attention to what you have to say. I know this from a real life case of a girl who was arrested on **fake **charges of 'absconding' from her employer. But because those charges were filed by some jealous but 'influencial' local emaratis against her, she went through the humiliation, physical and mental abuse and torture, sent in prison and alot more all of which I cannot type here in that land which she always called her 'home'.
Serious people will not pay attention to these naive and stupid boasts of how great those lands are because those who have been in there facing the real things, among the real people (not being driven to/from school in a burka) are the ones who can state the pros and cons of living in those places.
So people must make serious analysis before packing their bags to move to places like Saudia / UAE.
Re: Saudi Arabia
SubhanAllah lot's of emotion on this thread ...
The way I view the whole Islamic mahol and Islamic country/shari'ah situation ...
First and foremost the Islami mahol start in a persons heart ... if we do not have Islam in our intentions and no love for Islam then all we have done in a Muslim country is submitted to the law but we have not adopted Islam as a way of life.
There are some people who wear hijab or tote a beard only because of the country but when in a different place or environment such as with friends who are non-mahrams, etc they change for themselves the rules that Islam has clearly established. Such people are not the same as those Muslims who choose to observe Islam even in countries that do not enforce the OUTER (zahreeat) form of Islam in us.
Unfortunately where places like Saudi has managed to maintain a dress code it fails to keep people's hearts Islamic, a part of this is because it forces people in areas where shari'ah has never forced people and partly because it allows a hypocritical dichotomy of behaviour for elite people and for indoor activities outside the public arena.
Satellite television is available in many homes within Makkah even and they are big enough to catch all Western channels. On the other hand people living in the West have chosen not to even keep a TV forget about a satellite dish! In the same respect there are very good people in Saudi who never do bad things and then again there are very evil non-Muslims who always malign Islam and despise the Western Muslims.
I have a half theory that media in Saudi likes to instill fear in people about women going out alone because it suits their agenda. By making people unnaturally fearful about letting their women go outside alone due to the various stories then people through coersive tactics abide by the moral law of travelling with mahram. Logic tells us that if a group of 7 men can take a woman away, then why can they not do the same when only one man is with her. Of course they can but you wont hear about this in the Saudi media because it does not suit their purpose.
So we need to balance ideas here ishaAllah
Our Muslim countries have far too many luxuries to be good for our Islamic inner state, because materialism blinds the hearts. That is major issue in my humble opinion.
Re: Saudi Arabia
