OK so I have my issues with him but now that he’s passed, without disrespecting any of his followers, I’d like to ask a few questions:

  1. WHo was he?
  2. How did he elevate himself to the status of god?
  3. Why did 50 million people around the world believe in him and his so called powers?
  4. He prophesized that he would die at 96 but died at 84. Shouldn’t that plant a doubt in his investors and followers?
  5. He was accused of sexual abuse and even some murders. How did he get away with all of that?

Well, I think that Satya Sai Baba is better than all the other prophets like Jesus, Mohammed, etc. Because he actually helped a lot of people with his money and promoted peace between all religions rather than promoting division and started hospitals and stuff but he is also a fraud so I don’t support him because he is a deceiver.

Yes, he did do a lot of good deeds like building colleges, schools for orphanages, and hospitals, and his water projects which provided water to 1.2 million people. He also promoted non-violence and unity between Hinduism and Islam. But how did he get the money? By being a fraud and charlatan.

  1. He claimed to be a reincarnation of Shirdi Sai Baba, and many people thought he was a “God Man”, meaning God in the form of a man. He did “magic tricks” to prove that he is a God and people believed him.

  2. Well, so many people believed in him for the same reason that so many people believe in Prophet Mohammed, Jesus, or other people who claim to be prophets of a God.

  3. Nope, nothing will plant a doubt. Any religious person whether it is this religion or Islam, or Christianity won’t be able to see the flaws and will write everything off because their religion makes them “feel good”. I guess it’s a weakness of humans, we are gullible. One day I believe religion won’t exist .. people will look back at all religions as myths and feel sorry for people of our generation. Too bad we won’t be alive to see this. :frowning:

And Unos I know you left your religion but pls. don't drag other organized religions into this...Sai Baba claimed he was a god...the others were messengers, so there isn't any comparision.

Sorry Niksik, I didn't mean any disrespect to any of these prophets. Just stating my opinions, and it is relevant to this topic and the questions you asked.

Didn't this Baba say that he wont die before the age of 90 something but he died at the age of 8o something? how can he be a God if he was wrong about this and couldn't stop his own death? - was he that same curly hair guy or someone else?

people are such sheep. this guy seems to have done some charity and promotes communal harmony etc, but clearly has been taking everyone for a ride. but then again, they probably deserve it if they are that gullible.

he's basically ridden the coat-tails of shirdi sai baba, who was a sufi saint, and someone who was pretty genuine given the context of his life.

i'm sure there'll be more sai babas coming soon.. there is a nation full of suckers waiting, and this gravy train is just too lucrative to end.

Unos, you can state your opinion even without mentioning the names of Prophets from our religion or from any other religion. First you compared our Prophets with a common man who is nothing more than just a Nautanki who is playing with the minds of illiterates and then you say sorry. What if I compare it to those whom you follow or believe in it or with some worse and then apologize to you. Will you accept my apology?

Better you think twice before you passing such comments about our Prophets related to our religion. Go find another place where you can state your pathetic opinions.

Ok, fine I won't state the names next time.

First of all I did not need to apologize as I did nothing wrong, but I just said sorry to be polite. Secondly I do think all other Prophets are common men just like Satya Sai Baba and don't believe in any at all. I have the right to state my opinion, and if you don't like it then there is the ignore button here and you can ignore my posts.

See, it was important for me to mention other Prophets to make people like you realize this. You called Satya Sai Baba a Nautanki and a common man so maybe you should think twice too before passing such comments about Satya Sai Baba. You are insulting followers of Satya Sai Baba who actually believe in him, or may be you are justs stating the facts but truth hurts to believers so it can be hard to be polite when it comes to religion since it's a really sensitive topic. DOUBLE STANDARDS much?!

hareem01, I'm not debating this or telling you to believe it. I didn't want to even post this here since it is off-topic, but I was just replying to FairysAngel's question. And no facts are needed for this, the people claiming that their religion is true need the proofs and facts which they don't have since it's all based on "belief".

I was only interested in knowing what makes you think that Isa(AS) and Muhammad(SAW) were like this guy in the question but since you're not interested in debate but interested in "stating your opinions here and there only, I'll leave you to it. Hence I'll give no weight or heed to your opinions.

He was a scammer... like all babas and prophets are.. but he did do good deeds.. lots of charity work.. orphanages.. etc etc etc..

Simply the fact that they are all human beings who make extraordinary claims and don't have any actual evidence. I would debate this, but really just a waste of time and would offend majority of people here and I don't want to do that.
