Sathya Sai Baba

Re: Sathya Sai Baba

Better.
First of all I did not need to apologize as I did nothing wrong, but I just said sorry to be polite. Secondly I do think all other Prophets are common men just like Satya Sai Baba and don't believe in any at all. I have the right to state my opinion, and if you don't like it then there is the ignore button here and you can ignore my posts.
Is that what you really said? let me quote your comments "Well, I think that **Satya Sai Baba is better than all the other prophets like Jesus, Mohammed".

I wouldn't minded at all if you were said 'Prophets' only instead of writing names. I think from now on you needs use of ignore button more then me.
See, it was important for me to mention other Prophets to make people like you realize this.
please read post #1 and post #7. Have any other member draged other's religion in it? Let me quote for you this "And Unos I know you left your religion but pls. don't drag other organized religions into this...Sai Baba claimed he was a god...the others were messengers, so there isn't any comparision."
You called Satya Sai Baba a Nautanki and a common man so maybe you should think twice too before passing such comments about Satya Sai Baba. You are insulting followers of Satya Sai Baba who actually believe in him, or may be you are justs stating the facts but truth hurts to believers so it can be hard to be polite when it comes to religion since it's a really sensitive topic. DOUBLE STANDARDS much?!
Let me quote what you said earlier, maybe it will remind you how you respected Satya Sai Baba "5. See the BBC Documentary video here where some people talk about the sexual abuses he got from Satya Sai Baba.. Guy put Sai Baba's penis in his mouth since he believed he was God "as a healing process" :D :"

Frankly speaking how come you compare him with Prophets of our/others religion after passing such comments? That is why I called Nautanki and i won't regret what I said. Here I will say it was important for me to mention in such way to make people like you realize that we will not tolerate insult of our Prophets/religion/God at any cost.

Re: Sathya Sai Baba

Islam never permits to criticise its propounders/ prophets in any way and this can end up in cruel punishment to anyone who tries to argue. More than Islam, its followers are totally obedient and never 'tolerate' and end up in killings. Perhaps this aspect of this religion has helped it to propagate it throughout the world - I mean with a sword and fear. But still all muslims say that Islam is a peaceful religion. Although I do not criticise its prophets in any way but its followers do not have a good track record and look as brainwashed at times. Muslims hate all non muslims and assign them a status of kafir without ever knowing the tenets of non muslim religions. I have strong opinion that this was not so when this religion originated. In true sense we should respect all religions and prophets.

Re: Sathya Sai Baba

Peace Unos

SubhanAllah! When I see things being said in such layered deceptive circles as you have written above I realise why it is that Islam sent Muhammad (SAW) in the manner he was sent.

First of all Muhammad (SAW) is the noblest man in his tribe. He was born only son to the eldest (Abdullah) son to Abdul Muttalib son of Hashim leader of the tribes in the lineage of Kedar and Ismail son of Abraham (AS) ... There is no magical stuff here just a perfect lineage. Also, he was the most honest man in the whole tribe, he was the most beautiful man in the whole tribe, he was the bravest man in the whole tribe, the strongest and most sweet smelling. He was a successful business man and had as his best friends the best amongst the tribes of Quresh. He was known as Al-Amin by all in the times before his prophethood was announced.

During his life he successfully turned around a whole society from pagan worship to pure worship of One Deity. He instigated a full world order that is contender until today. Modern world has a lot to owe Islam as a result.

He predicted his death precisely ... and furthermore predicted the death of his daughter Fatimah (RA) and he narrated the verses of Allah (SWT) which foretold the defeat of the Romans. He had many miracles that are well documented. He (SAW) can never be compared to the Sathya Sai Baba.

Re: Sathya Sai Baba

I am not sure where you read/heard it, but its not correct.

Infact the Sai organization website clearly says
Sathya Sai Baba is a highly revered spiritual leader and world teacher, whose life and message are inspiring millions of people throughout the world to turn God-ward and to lead more purposeful and moral lives.

Re: Sathya Sai Baba

I've heard it from many folks who are staunch followers. They give him the status of god. This one friend of mine asks Sai Baba for favors before praying to God. She expects the "vibhuti" to show up on the photo frame meaning that her prayers have been heard...

Anyway, a lot of his "miracles" have been labeled as fraud by researchers. I wonder how his death has been handled by his followers. I haven't talked to any of those pals of mine since then and I don't want to say something that'll hurt them either.

Re: Sathya Sai Baba

Niksikji,I do not want to comment on other questions you have asked. But here is (maybe) an answer to your question No-4 It’s taken from a website…

http://www.chakranews.com/sathya-sai-baba%E2%80%99s-physical-death-prediction-comes-true/1247

By Raj Sharma
There has been much confusion in the last few weeks regarding the age of Sathya Sai Baba and the timeline of his presence in physical form, for Baba it is said, had declared that he would leave his physical form when he reached 96 years of age.
This confusion in truth pertains to the modes of computation for most people still adhere to the Roman/Gregorian calendar whereas Sathya Sai Baba always referred to the Hindu Nakshatra Kala Ganana (timescales based on stars) in his own discourses.
Accordingly, the Sidereal Lunar year as per old “Vedic” cycles is not 365 days but 324 days or 27 X 12 (12 sidereal months) because a lunar (sidereal) month extends from Aswathi to Revathi stars — that is 27 days. Hence it is important to note that we are not referring to the solar year 365 days or tropical lunar year from full moon to full moon which is 12 X 29 1/2 days or 354 days. We are speaking of the sidereal lunar year with one month consisting of 27 day moon transit of the zodiac and the 27 nakshatras. Therefore the lunar year in this case would have 324 days and not 365 days as in the Gregorian calendar.
Roughly speaking then, if we consider the prediction of death at 96 years of age then 96 lunar years at 324 = 31104 days, divided by 365 solar years= 85.2 solar years. Hence Sathya Sai Baba is no doubt around 85 ‘solar’ years according to the Roman/Gregorian calendar but he is ’96′ lunar years according to the old Vedic Hindu calculation (of the sidereal months). Moreover this information has been confirmed by many Vedic scholars and astrologists, including the eminent Pandit Vamadeva Shastri (David Frawley)
It is also interesting to note an incident which took place on the 85th birthday celebration of Sathya Sai Baba. Usually, during any festival celebration, especially Baba’s birthday, the entire Prashanti Nilayam would be temporarily decorated with objects made of materials such as cardboards, etc. which could be easily dismantled and dismembered after the celebration ended since the new celebration would require the new birth date, etc. to be hoarded on the banner. However, during this 85th birthday celebration Sathya Sai Baba told his students “Make all the decorations of “PERMANENT” material”. Accordingly a board had been put up at the Ganesh Dwar which read “85 years of Love” and after celebrations the board has remained and not come down, just as Baba wanted and instructed. Moreover this time around instead of temporary gates, permanent gates were made and they are still there. When the students asked Swami whether they could remove and clear the decorations Swami responded by telling them not to remove the banner or decorations and to let it be there, implying that he knew this would be the last celebration.
Furthermore during his 80th birthday celebration, in the discourse that Sathya Sai Baba gave he declared that “Today is MY 90th Birthday”… and the entire crowd started laughing thinking that Swami had made a mistake…no one took it seriously and the publisher of Sathya Sai Baba in that subsequent volume went on to publish it as 80 years. Yet all of the devotees present that day undoubtedly heard Swami say that he was 90 years of age.
It stands to reason however that even if devotees knew that Sathya Sai Baba was indeed 96 years old, it would not make the situation any better but only worse since most devotees were already heartbroken and suffering even when they were convinced that Baba would not leave his body yet. Hence if devotees knew for sure that Baba would be leaving then Prashanti Nilyam would be subject to complete chaos and most devotees who have been so strongly attached to Baba would certainly succumb to emotional breakdowns, especially in the final years of Baba’s life. Instead, Baba, out of care for his devotees, made all circumstances transpire so fast, and out of the range of our conscious awareness of the actual reality of things, so that most of us would not really experience the real magnitude or impact of the situation making it less emotionally painful, which is why till today most people still feel as if it was all a dream.
More importantly, the way that avatars work ultimately always remains a mystery, so it never does matter whether in the end things add up mathematically or not as Baba’s age would still be irrelevant in the grand scheme of life. What will always continue to remain more important is our experience with him, his life, his message and his work, which is what devotees must continue to set their hearts and minds on.

My personal view about him:-

Many of my relativers are/were aredent/mild followers of him just ike many of the dignataries and laymen across the world.

But to me the most striking thing he hasdone is that he helped many villages in his home state Andhra to develop and get rid off the Naxal menance and he helped people progress in their materialistic and spiritual life. He brought many Naxal activists back to normal life leaving their erstwhile trail of blood path and He constituted a super speciality hi tech hospital in his place that provides** an absolute free medical aid** to poor people. I believe it was in June or july 2010 I ,while carrying out a Retailer meet in y place, accidentally came across with a Muslim man who had his son treated at Baba’s hospital for absolutely free off charges. he said though he is a Muslim he has his high regards for Baba and his services and he showed his gratitude towards Baba for saving his son’s life.he said he did not have to spend a single penny for the treatment of his son.He said the above mentioned hospital was a great experience for him and the kind of service ,hygenic conditions and the approach by the staffs were all overwhelming.

I believe this makes Baba greater than anything else.I do not know or not sure of his so called `magical abilities’ but I am sure a great lot of people were mesmerized by him and were or still are his followers.

As regards to the sexual molestation charges,I believe ,you can have all these stories centering around people who are in limelight. They may not be true also.

Re: Sathya Sai Baba

I am not a follower of Sathya Sai Baba, so can't comment on why his followers gave him the status of God. :) But I do know one thing for sure that he never portrayed himself as God.

God or not, one can't deny the social work thats been done by his foundation and he should be given due credit for that.

Re: Sathya Sai Baba

If a human allows himself to be worshipped or says he is God whilst he does lots of charity work that is like comparing London full of neutron star stellar remnant to the mass of Jupiter. Although London is several millions of times smaller than Jupiter the weight of that amount of stellar remnant is about a million times more than Jupiter. We see the volume of acts in this world - but it is the mass of the act that counts in the scales of good and bad.

Re: Sathya Sai Baba

Arly, regarding the article about his age...well somehow I guessed that someone is going to come up with some calculations to get that sorted out. When his date of birth has been established by the redgular calendar, then shouldn't his death be also?

Anyway, no disregard to the social work he's done, and I do realize that people like these are subject to criticism...you know that famous saying- "no one kicks a sleeping dog."

Perhaps he did not claim he is a god but he did act and behave in a way where people worshipped him.

Re: Sathya Sai Baba

I would approach this through another angle. Service is God'.So he best suits in that lot.Yes that Godly one. But the fact is that he had disciples from almost all the religions in this world.Niksikji, what I am saying is that, his godly stature has not done anything detrimental to anybody but it has served good to alot of people and the society.I would have opposed him for hisgodly claims' had he acted like cult leaders like Jim Jones and others who sent their disciples to death. Instead Baba turned barren lands in to cultivating green lands, reformed communities, made people forgetting their past sins and helped them come back to their normal life.

Ofcourse service is god...

Re: Sathya Sai Baba

Hmmmm.

I'd rather say that service is an act that is loved by God.

Re: Sathya Sai Baba

^Yes.

May be this is why Baba is also seen through different angles. Just like we differ in our perspectives ....

Re: Sathya Sai Baba

Psyah - how would you define worship ?
