I have been noticing during post-match interviews lately that Sanga does not give any credit to Pakistan if they win. Is he friends with Dhoni?
It is always about him and his team. He always seems to have an excuse for every loss.
Yesterday’s T20 was an example
“We gave them (Pakistan) about 20-25 runs too many on this track”
buddy you didnt gave away any runs. Pakistan scored those runs…
Then in the 5th ODI when Rameez asked Sanga “Uncle (Rana) bowled those slow balls really well”, Sanga completely ignored that comment saying something like “We made mistakes and played cheap shots”…WTH!!!
Same happened in the T20 Final at Lords “My team is the best in the world. I’ve got world-class bowlers blah blah blah…” not a single word of praise for Pakistan.
A classy batsman he surely is but that does not excuse his strange behaviour against Younis Khan in the 5th ODI game. Everyone saw Sanga whining like a baby out there in the middle when he thought Younis had nicked the ball (replays showed otherwise). It was almost like he felt Younis was cheating and did not trust his word. Younis was clearly unhappy with his antics.
Although Ajmal’s crazy gesture pointing Sanga to the dressing room after dismissing him yesterday was unnecessary, it was probably more out of frustration and anger at Sanga’s recent arrogant behaviour

I dont think he has an ego. I admire him and seems to be a very good gentleman. More like he is a perfectionist and like to be the best in the job. He gives his 100%. In a professional sport people compete very hard and finding excuse that the other team played better hence won is just like conceding that you did not play good. He believes in the second interpretation. There is always scope for improvement. Rather than this attitude that if Pakistan plays good then they are screwed, it is always better to have an attitude like we did not play well and hence Pakistan won.

no he is just confident and educated. Unlike the dehati paindoos in Pakistan team
Nothing wrong with what you both are saying
By all means have pride in your team but I think it is only proper to say a few words in praise of the opposing team esp. if they play better than you on a given day

GA.. Sanga has a reputation of a gentleman. However I have been noticing a change in his attitude since the T20 Final. Those who have not followed Srilankan cricket post T20 final might not understand it. He is generally not like that.
My understanding is that Srilankan epseically Sanga badly wanted to win the T20 Cup however their dream was shattered in the final by Pakistan and since then you notice a change in the attitude. It is also possible that they wanted to win the cup after what happened with their team in Pakistan in March. Nevertheless things didn't go according to the plan for them which has resulted in this cocky behavior. It was funny to see the way how Mahela, a generally cool headed person, reacted towards Afridi during yesterday's game. All this is interrelated and root of the problem is T20 final.

Pakistanis resort to match fixing nonsense everytime they lose somehow they are never bad they only get bibed to lose.. and you expect others too praise you masala match victory..
Sangkara's team has shwon his class by thrashing you in test and one day why wud he care abotu a one off masala 20/20 match
Totally agree with GA, I also noticed it specially after their worldT20 loss. But I don't agree that Ajmal deserved a fine. Throughout the series Srilankans bowlers have been pointing Pakistanis towards the pavillion but no actions taken. Mathews pointed to Umar Akmal, even Afridi didn't like the way Murli pointed to him in one match. Murli even repeated it with another player in the same match. What about Sangas behavior with yunus and Jayawardane's behavior with afridi after he took a run when he was hit while taking a run.
The only time a Pakistani behaved like them, he was fined. Not fair!

You guys are too critical.
He wants to drive home the point that his team was in the match and they just gave it away. It has been happening in the last three matches. He wants his young batsmen to do better.
Here are his quotes from cricinfo:
"It was a chaseable target and we didn't do well to get there. We've got to accept that responsibility and say that it was a match we should have won but we weren't good enough. At 100 for 3 with seven overs to go it was a very gettable total but we fell away and lost too many wickets too quickly. Partnerships are key in any form of the game and we didn't have too many of them either."
Sangakkara said the turning point of the match was the way Afridi batted. "We made early inroads but that little captain's innings of his really took the game away from us. That's the way he bats he comes up the order and enjoys that responsibility in Twenty20 cricket. We were ready for that but he just batted us out of the game."
He did praise Afridi didnt he.!

lagta hai kissi ney kissi kee dukhti rag par haath rakh diya...
good observation and right on. sanga is hardly a class act. not only is he a sore loser. time and again he bitc*es on the field over petty stuff. he should have been fined for arguing with younis khan in the first place.
good on saeed to show him the way to the pavillion.

So being educated teaches you not to appreciate others just keep harping about yourself. That is what I call educated jahils. Better to be dehati paindoos than educated jahil.
I noticed that thing after World T20 final that he did not give any credit to Pakistani team. But I was too high on victory then hence didnt post. But he has continued the trend in recent series as well.
He is a classy gentleman but who says gentleman are perfect? :)
As usual, accepting anything against Pakistan without any logical reasoning. Brother why don't you join Indian forums if you have so much of prejudice that you want to vent out against Pakistan.

*R.A.W. bhai, main pichlay do saal se jaanta hoon ke the guy is a closet Indian; aap log ab realize karrahay ho yeh.
Sangakkara, I feel, is a fierce competitor and hence in the heat of the moment, he tends to say things that could lead to the perception of him being an arrogant individual. I have seen him giving credit to the Pakistani team in all the interviews after the post-match conferences, however. It's not like the Pakistani side did great on the tour anyway! *
