Sangakkara and ego!

Re: Sangakkara and ego!

Dude wants to emulate Aussies of Mcgrath, Warne, Hayden, langer, Gilchrist era

the only problem is that apart from Himself, Jayawerdene and Murli the rest of the lot r either newbies or past their sell-date (Jayasuriya) and u may win at home with this combo but i don't see this bowling line-up taking 20 wickets on a "phatta" wicket or the batting power to survive on bouncy pitches against good pace bowling

So somehow he needs a reality check ..... NZ are surely the wrong opposition for this

So the next time any captain wins any matches against Pakistan, they should just speak about how beautifully Pakistan played and how unlucky it was for Pakistan to loose. If Pakistan wins any matches by chance the captain should praise Pakistan for the wonderful way it played.

The world revolves around the sun sir.. Please I expected better from you.

Re: Sangakkara and ego!

Pls pardon him................

Read my post again and than reply. The question is that once you lose yes you can point to your weaknesses but you also appreciate your opponenets and that is what I would expect from a Pakistani captain as well. My comment was about how a captain should behave not about Paksitan, so dont try and give it a wrong interpertation. I expected you to read the posts better.

Re: Sangakkara and ego!

^^

Why is that we dont see similar threads being opened against Pakistani Captains as well. Inzy for that matter could just say "Insha Allah we played well" and nothing more..

First it was Dhoni who was supposed to be rude, now Sanga and where will this end...

simplyme Sri Lanka did not just lose but they got destroyed in the last three games (2 ODIs and T20) - you might say the two ODIs were dead games but they were still international games, not friendlies - so it's only right that Sanga (some people are giving him too much credit here) should have said something

Thats all

Re: Sangakkara and ego!

^^ Point taken ...

Re: Sangakkara and ego!

I think he just wants to encourage his team mates .....

Asif,
They lost so miserably. They can do better than that. They did play well in the first three matches. But in the last two they played poorly. And this is what I guess he was saying.
Please dont make judgment on Sangakkaras character based on what he did not say.

Re: Sangakkara and ego!

Had Mr.Dilshan played, the series results would have been 5-0 instead of 3-2

Re: Sangakkara and ego!

^ yeah after his devastating 0 in the 20twenty finals, you are quite right.

Re: Sangakkara and ego!

^ So you can rate a player with just one match? What abt the other matches played by him?

Re: Sangakkara and ego!

The point is that you have made a sweeping statement, just want to bring you down to reality that it is not always the case. Yes he is a good player but your statement is just a sweeping statement.

Even your test defeat would have been more souring one.

Dilshan’s injuries prompted draw - Sangakkara | Cricket News | Sri Lanka v Pakistan 2009 | Cricinfo.com

It is not.Because S.L had won three matches straightaway without Dilshan. So you can imagine how much damage to Pak team his presence could have done. Moreover his test match performances were quite good.

Re: Sangakkara and ego!

This is all if's and buts, you cannot say that. He could have fired or he could have got out on modest scores. To say that SL would have won 5/0 if he had been playing is just not true. Would Pakistan had won 5/0 if Asif and Shoaib been playing. These is all just speculation.

Let's not overhype Dilshan. He is no Viv Richards. Dishan is a decent rather than outrightly great batsman

Dont know about that but certainly understand your sourness and soreness. Seems like someone has recently converted his nationality from Indian to Srilankan (for the time being) following the events of June 14th. Likin bhai Pakistan pay kyon ghusa nikal rhay ho?

I bet had Australia won Ashes, you would have opted for their nationality since England played the key role in the royal exit.

Most disgusting quality of a sportsman is not to acknowledge the opposition.....even Ricky pointing brags about how tuff their opposition was from time to time. Sanga is a great batsman but diffinatly not on my favourites.

Re: Sangakkara and ego!

P.S: Indians are crap at hospitality, now Srilankans joined teh list
