Re: Salons
don't be! call them, be polite but firm... tell them you feel they did a bad job on your hair and you would either like a refund or would like their top stylist to fix it for free. its the least they can do! why should you have to live with their mistake/incompetence??
At this point, ill only want my $$ back cz there's just no repair for it :(
Re: Salons
^call them and throw a fit. seriously, sara!
Re: Salons

Re: Salons
I recently went to a lady to get side swept bangs… I had them not too long ago with layers, and instead of giving my side swept bangs she basically just cut another layer into my hair, and tehn charged $25 for it, and I gave a $5 tip. It looked fine in the store, like side swept bangs, only when I washed it the next day, they didnt fall into place like bangs should, I had to pull them out myself and tehy were seriously the size of my layers. I was htinking of going to her to get it fixed, but didnt think she would help so I went ot another place and payed AGAIN, it sucked ![]()
I have the saem problem as you sara, I hate being *****y, even though they say the customer is always right, I dont always act that way ![]()
Re: Salons
I am very picky about choosing a salon. Whenever I enter a new salon, I observe what and how they are working. If that looks appealing then I would go forwards and ask for service. Once I got a haircut from some Chinese lady on my mom's recommendation. When I got home I didn't like it, both sides looked different, I went back the next day and pointed her everything out. She argued at first and then made a very bad face while she was re-cutting my hairs...lol... After that I didn’t get a hair cut for an year till I had found the right place. Now it is almost 4-5 years I have been visiting that salon and never had any issues. I don’t visit any other place.
Re: Salons
This reminds me of a time in Pakistan when my cousins went to the local salon because one of them wanted red streaks in her hair. When the woman had finished everything it turned out she hadn't done red streaks but blonde and her excuse was I thought blonde would complement you better. My cousin was so upset that they left without paying, came back home and told my older cousin about it who basically went to the salon and spoke to the manager about the whole situation, bought black hair dye and had to come home and redye her hair black herself to cover up the blonde bits, because the manager was convinced it wasn't her responsibility.
I think if the hair dresser or beautician does something wrong then they should should fix it or you shouldn't have to pay because it is their responsibility and their reputation on the line.
Re: Salons
Any hair cut that you get, one should be able to maintian the style (Practice on blowdry) even some time a bad hair cut can lood great when you style them (of course unless they're really bad) you may look good coming out from the salon after get hair cut with style, but when you wash your hair and not able to style them then of course it will look awful.
In my opinion its only hair it will grow back (what's the big deal) provided you're able to do the style (its hard blow-dry your own hair)
Re: Salons
I don't know about other people but for me it is a "BIG DEAL", when I am paying the stylist then I want a job that satisfies me. And I don't think any hair cut can do, people should make sure they get a cut that would go with their face cut and will bring a spark in their personality. Of course it is on the person how well they can maintain their style but when you get off that cutting chair, you should feel good about yourself.
Re: Salons
I have a real problem with poor service…and I almost always complain if I’m not happy…! Heck I’ve worked in the service industry too and I always made sure I gave 100% to customers, why should I settle for less if I’m a paying customer too…?!
The most recent incident was when I got my hair cut after a looong time because I had been growing it. I booked an appointment at my regular salon, but during my long absence, my usual stylist had gone away on Maternity leave…I urgently needed to get the cut done and didn’t want to compromise on quality, so I booked it with their Style Director - ie. top top level stylist…
In short she bodged the whole thing up…she got scissor-happy and cut off waaay more than I asked…the entire thing was uneven…at the time I thought ‘okay maybe she hasn’t blowdried it properly’…so I checked it out properly when I got home…once I saw the extent of the damage she’d inflicted I actually cried…
sad I know, but it looked blinking awful!
So the next day I went back and asked to see the manager…she looked at it and was appalled by the rubbish job the woman had done…I refused to have it fixed…like ‘heyall no! I’m not letting you people go near my hair again!’ Apparently they don’t do refunds as a general rule so I contacted their Head Office…gave them what for and got a cheque in the post a week later ![]()
I went back again when my usual stylist came back and was given a huge discount too by way of apology…so really it does pay off to make it clear you’re not happy…if you’re paying your hard earned money for something, why you should you settle for anything below quality…?
Re: Salons
I had my eyebrows done last month and the girl really bugged them up, I mean my eyebrows are just fine- just go with the shape! But no she gave me the typical asian thin crap and changed the shape altogether
I noticed it there and cos my mum knows them couldnt even say anything! But I know for sure that I'm never going back to her! So I'm trying to grow them now
Re: Salons

Re: Salons
Saraaa.. I finally, FINALLY got a haircut that has made me happy in the last 2 years!! After going to practically every salon possible when my fav stylist moved to california :(, someone told me about this other stylist at that salon and how amazing she is. So I finally booked an appointment and omg, I was so happy by the end of it that I gave her a 30 dollar tip. It's such a blessing when you get a haircut that you have been wanting for such a longggggg time. Now I can grow out my hair in peace knowing it's not a mess anymore. By the way Sara, you should come to ct and I will take you to her :)
Re: Salons

Re: Salons
I've had some not-so-nice experiences, but I'm too nice to say anything. :-\
This one time, while getting a manicure, the lady accidentally made my cuticles bleed. She actually looked scared, so I told her it was alright.
A week ago, I went for a haircut. I'd been growing my hair, and only wanted a little trim. But the stupid lady started doing her own thing. It looks nice, but it was just not what I wanted. I was so mad cuz I was trying to grow my hair!
Re: Salons
I am not a girl and i also don't hve very interesting experiences about hair cut. But when i came here to america, i went to supercuts and they SUX. Being blond, tall and pretty doesn't really means that she can cut hair, and i being desi, FOB and first time a gori cutting my hair, couldn't said a thing :(

Re: Salons
I have the most envious and desireable fingernails, they are white and pink, they dont chip, they dont break and they grow very very long in a very natural shape.
I duno what I was thinking that I decided to get a manicure, the stupid asian filed them in such a way that I had to chop them off because they became weak and brittle.
I know you donot file both ways but she just sait there like my nails were a piece of wood and her file was sandpaper ![]()
