For the last couple opf years a few religious bigots were making noise over Salaman’s participation in this,saying it is un-Islamic, but Salman and his father do neglect and contempt their protests every year. Last year Salman’s father gave them a mouth of full of words.
Technically, Salman is only 50% Muslim since his mother is a Hindu
Ofcourse, I agree with the religious harmony part. Growing up in India, I have visited mosques/dargahs, churches & gurudwaras numerous times with the same level of devotion. This is probably a difficult concept for someone who hasn’t lived in India, to grasp.

If you don't like don't marry a hindu women...who are you to be concerned if Salman is a hindu or a muslim ???
I think one should not comment on any one's actions as long as they are not harming the others in the society and generally fall within the preview of morally acceptable things in the society. As long as he is not hurting anyone I think you should keep your mouth shut and refrain from showing your true colours as a chela of Zia ul haq the hypocrite...
or perhaps he does so coz i have never a practicing muslim successful in bollywood. and cross marraiages are also rampant so that u they can survive and remain socially acceptable.

Well there is no doubt that whatever he is doing is unislamic, and there are another and better ways of showing religious harmony. But thats his personal matter and no one else but he will be answerable to this. So why should U or any other muslim use this kind of language for him?
U know India's beauty lies in its religious harmony and unity in diversity only. U come to India in this holy month of Ramzaan and U will see that daily there are lots of Iftar parties hosted by hindus in each and every city. And its real pleasure seeing hosts sporting Islamic caps and scarves serving to their muslim guests. Sometimes even offering Namaz with them afterwards. Idea behind this is only creating religious harmony between two communities. And that works.
Still there are hindus who dont like this practise and muslims who dont go to such iftar parties fearing that their Islam can be forfieted. But thankfully such ppls are very few.

i appreciate u have realised that what he is doing is un islamic. its his personal matter to practice a certain relegion. but if he declares himself a muslim than he cant go the against prime injuction of shariah. and i think his such kind of acts creates controversy and confusion. i remember few months back a fatwa was issued against him from braily (?) that he was no more muslim due to this act of idol worship.
i think he makes fun of the sharaiah injuction every now and then. probably he is lukeworm or confused.
relgious harmony should be appreciated as u mentioned. the things here in pakistan are not much different. many of friends are non muslims. we exchange greetings and gifts on each others festival. Even one of my mother friend who is hindu and when her family was in severe financail crises my family helped her substaintly in monetary terms ....
the points is if u follow certain relegion then follow it properly. dont make it like "Adha teeter Aadha Batair".
