Re: Role of women in world's major religions and why?
Deedawar….do you understand the theory of evolution? Your problem is that you want to look at other religions thru an Islamic goggle….that there must be a Prophet giving his rulings in all matters of life and it must become ‘dogma’ for all coming centuries and generations.
Today Hindu religion does not support polygamy, it does not support child marriage and it does not support the idea that the woman is inferior. And it does not support to beat your woman.
And if a Hindu wants to do something like that, he may have no support from any sector and may end in jail.
Can you say the same for Islam?
Do you know how the Hindu religion is glorified by women?........Ever hear of the epos Mahabharata? The main character of Mahabharata Lord Krishna was trying to appease the opponents to avoid war, but it was a woman, Draupadi, who argued with him and convinced him that a war must take place.
In Ramayana Sita argued with Ravana and convinced him that he could not touch her without her permission.
For centuries we can give examples of thousands of women who had shown enough courage in the society.
What you have to show? Nothing……only words.
If a man can beat his woman for her refusal to satisfy him, why she cannot beat her man for the same?............But in Islam the satisfaction is a copyright of man only. Is it wrong?
Veil is very much Islamic; because for Islam only woman is considered to be a source for encouragement for sex…..you forget that in any case she has her eyes open to look at men.
(If it is not Islamic….go and tell Muslim women to remove all kind of Hijabs and enjoy the sun, I mean vitamin D.)
Anyhow I can agree to all your allegations only if you tell me…….
'Can any one count at least fourteen Muslim women out of last fourteen centuries who achieved some goals in public life without any opposition from the religious sector?'
