Aab e Zam Zam muqaddas hain Hazrat Ismail Alehi salam ki nisbatse!
Sindhu ka pani kis nisbatse muqaddas hai?
Infact if today Sindh is called 'Bab ul Islam', then its due to the prosperity of the area because of River Sindh which attracted Arab invaders. Without River Sindh, there is no existence of Sindh.
And it is most difficult source to divide, Punjab and haryana were divided in 65 but there is no proper settlement of dispute among Punjab, Haryana and Rajsthan, no settlement of water between India and Pakistan, this is the only reason I oppose of partitioning any state further as dividing water is always a political quagmire.
Aab E Zam Zam, I heard about it before from most reliable source:D, that its water never get polluted naturally like Ganga.

This reminds me my Dadi's words 'Pani pe lathi marne se pani alag nahin hota'

Yes its religiously sacred as it is believed that it came in to being when the little Ismail (son of Abraham AS) hit his feet the scorching land of Makkah, while her mother Hajira (AS) was running between the hills of Saffa and Marwa in search of water. I read that Zam Zam lost its existence and the well was re-discovered just before the birth of the Prophet (SAW)
But there are many rivers in West Pakistan’s area besides Sindh including five rivers of Punjab. They are as important culturally and for survival of the people live nearby as River Sindh for people of Sindh. Same goes for India which got many important rivers like Jamna, etc besides Ganga.
Rivers/water is important for the existence of mankind, thats the reason why the civilizations developed around them. Rivers were natural barriers between different areas, hence mostly the people living on one side of the river had similar culture as compared to the people living on the other side.
However Daryai Sindh has the Unique distinction of being the only River in this World of ours to have named a Religion “Hindu” after it plus a sub continent after it “Hind”

Which other River does that?
Name One????
You got a valid point, but there are countries which were named behind rivers.
Like Brunei on the name of Brunei river, Congo got its name from Congo river, Gambia (Gambia river), Jordan (River Jordan)

Exactly.... So how the culture of Lahrois living near Ravi is different from Faisalabadis / Chinyotis living near Chenab?
^ there a great big difference between A Sub Continent and a leetle bitty Country!.............:-)
But each culture got importance for the people to whom it belonged. If Egypt didn't get name from Nile, it doesn't mean that its less important for Egyptians. My point is yes River Sindh is important for people of Sindh. Its Sindh on whose banks old Indus civilisation (Moen Jo Daro) prospered, but again we can't denounce the importance of other rivers of the area and impact on the culture of people.
