Re: One shouldered Bridal
I don't think paki brides would like to bare either shoulders at their wedding.

Re: One shouldered Bridal
There was a Bunto Bride recently who wore an offshoulder bridal. If it was done a bit more tastefully, it could have looked nice. But the entire look was not all that appealing.

I saw that one...didn't like it much either.
To all others..it was just a question....
^ It can never be done tastefully, no matter how much appealing u try to make it, it will always look DISGUSTING, cheap and wahayat!
What's next, a bride wearing one of those bollywood dresses showing her bare belly???
Re: One shouldered Bridal
^ actually i knw which bride pareezay is talking abt and its looked really nice on her.
regarding ur second comments...well thats happening already.
i personally would not recommend going for a one-shouldered bridal outfit...cause i think it wuld just look odd.
Re: One shouldered Bridal
on a pakistani bride in a pakistani dress, it wouldn't work at all with the whole look.
on a pakistani bride in a white dress, maybe at a registry ceremony, it would probably depend on her figure and how nice her shoulders were! ;)
Re: One shouldered Bridal
I don’t think its been done in Pakistan…our bridalwear tends to be on the conservative side, but it’s definitely been done in India.
Even on western dresses, I don’t like the one shoulder look in general…just about any other neckline looks more sophisticated. As for South Asian bridal attire…I just don’t think it works, as the above example illustrates. It’s too much of an Indian/Bollywood look.
Re: One shouldered Bridal
pakistani brides ki khuubsurati hi is maximized by the modesty of their trousseaus one shouldered would not be able to bring that kind of beauty out unless the dupatta were set in a way that it hid the naked shoulder
I don't know about anyone else but NOTHING will ever convince me that such dresses can look good. wahayat wahayat wahayat! Not just the dresses but even those who support this!
Have fun explaining these fashion styles to Allah on the day of judgement!
Anyways, I'm not trying to start a debate here... whatever.
Re: One shouldered Bridal
call me old fashioned or narrowminded but i so totally agree with huma
By tastefully, I meant having a deep neckline/ boat neck (Bunto does it for alot of her brides, and no, they do not look vulgar or omg wahayat), if the bride really wanted her shoulders to show. Nothing out there like baring it all the way but something minimal done in a nice way could have looked really good.
Re: One shouldered Bridal
ooh boat neck yaar can anyone post pix i wud love to see
Pareezay, as I said before, nothing will ever convince me on this matter! Not even a sleeveless dress goes down my throat..
llxxll, thank you!
Re: One shouldered Bridal
^To each their own =)
I wasn't convincing you anyway, I was sharing in the thread what I think would have looked better.
Re: One shouldered Bridal
actually my cousin had a small choli on her wedding day…cos her bridal was indian she didnt have time to go to pakistan and jst got stuff made by an indian designer in uk…neway her duppatta was so amazingly draped not an inch of skin was shown…she got the best of both…u cud wear a one shoulder and not show ur shoulder (but still feel awsome abt wearing it) to keep the elder “HAWW Haye OMG” aunties happy…the shirt/choli is mainly what ur husband will probably see anyway… ![]()
p.s. I love u mahi
hahaha wanted to see that pic ![]()
Ofcourse it has been done and very tastefully too....
Recently two of my friends wore it in different colors on their wedding day and now a third one is considering one from Amina Ajmal....I don't think either one wud like me to post their pictures but i'll try to post the Amina Ajmal's original creation....
Secondly,
if u have never done this before and are not comfortable with showing skin....don't do it on ur wedding day, coz if ur not comfortable, other people will sene it too...go with something that's tried and tested :)
Re: One shouldered Bridal
it would have definitely looked more beautiful if she had not gone for off shoulder shirt....why do people feel the need of showing skin?....
