My MIL asked me if I wanted a dress that was slightly off the shoulders i’m not too sure :S help?
She wants a deep maroon and pale gold..

BTW, Gina, you have a lovely MIL! No MIL I know would even think about it let alone suggest it to her bahu-to-be. And, I seriously don’t like the look for a bride.
She prolly suggested it since my Eid dress was off the shoulder and she liked it.. I didn't like it too much either for a bridal outfit.
Oh i got her an LV bag and a swarovski rose bracelet.. =)

off the shoulder dresses are beautiful but i dont think it will be a good idea for a bridal dress because with the dupatta over ur head and falling to the sides of ur shoulders, the shirt will actually make u look like uve got very broad shoulders. i think the only way u can make an off the shoulder bridal dress work is if the part that goes around the shoulders has thin embroidery on it or if you put the dupatta behind your back from atleast one side.

^ Ya I agree with sumorani, having the dupatta set on the head makes the off-shoulder shirts look odd

yeah, cos didn't whatsherface's daughter have an off the shoulder neckline too? she was a fairly fit girl, but it just made her look really broad - you know, the one with the yellow and red HSY outfit and a lot of jewellery, and HSY was at her wedding too? helping her up on stage? does anyone remember?

^ Yeah, one was Kiran and the other was a daughter of some busines tycoon. She looked plain hoochi mama..ish...becasue the neckline was sooo broad!

strapless is more flattering than off-shoulder, unless your off-shoulder will have merely a hint of a strap for a sleeve. but off-the-shoulder with an actual sleeve, completely unflattering.

Let me get this straight...everyone is in consensus over an off the shoulder neckline being too vulgar for a bride (and I agree when it comes to Sara Hashwani's dress)...but when I imply that a completely backless blouse is too risque, practically everyone acts like I'm being a prude? :p
