removal of hair

I used to wax for my legs only. Then I bought an epilator. It's like a razor/shaver that pulls each hair out. I got tired of waxing and the mess, so I use that now and just take out every hair that way.

For "down there" :) I use a bikini shaver by Phillips. It works really well. I can't do the waxing and stuff like that down there. I'm just too scared and plus I couldn't expose myself like that to anyone else as I probably wouldn't have the guts to do it myself. Shaving is my way!! It cuts it down real low and neat.

You know some people think that only women do this and not men. A sister I know (muslim) who is a midwife had a fellow midwife (not Muslim) ask her why women shave down there. The sister proceeded to tell her for sanitary reasons and such and that MEN DO IT TOO!! The non-muslim thought only we women did that and not the men. Because she presumed that only women did it, as of course she only saw the private area of women not of men. So she thought Muslim men must be pedophiles and want to see young, clean women!! You see sometimes the things people think and we don't realize it!!

whats the name electrolysis . u r using for u chin ,,, i need good one plz tell me name

I've sent u a message.....:)

Lol! I can't stop laughing. It keeps on cracking me up every time I think of it. Thanks for the detailed answer though :)

I hope for some people the awrah concept is more cleared now.

By the way if we get the Brazilian wax done from another woman, is it Haraam or just a minor gunnah? (I know I know I might sound like a stuck up, but dude I really wanna make sure) Too embarrassed to go to the Shariah Board in Chicago & ask them :o

Have no idea on what to do:(

Re: removal of hair

what have u been doing uptil now adeeba??

Re: removal of hair

grls plz try to ask basic question to your mother& sister instead to someone else ...some questions seems really stupid like trim , or all hair remove , seems nobody gave you basic knowladge about important things,, lake of knowladge,, or ignorance

There is no 'gunah' that has no mafi for first of all, and secondly no you shouldn't just belive it if 2 people are saying it, there is a reason why there is no Clergy in Islam, no Pope or Priest, every muslim should do research on the religion, study it like a subject at school and figure out what's wrong and what's right. I am sure laziness with your deen is a sin in itself. Personally having read the quran in 3 different languages, I doubt that God is particularly concerned with your eye brows.

Re: removal of hair

I get everything waxed professionally, its so much easier, but if your looking for a cheaper method i would not use CREAMS! Please dont harm your body with creams, they do more harm then good. Shaving i would NEVER do because its a quick soultion but long time hassle, plus skin can get irritated. You can try waxing yourself but rememeber try to keep things as clean as possible. You have to understand there is hair in the pubic region for a reason, Infections are more likely to happen. Thats why i everything done professionally, i have amazingly smooth skin everywhere, it last me about a month and a half becuase i've been doing it for soo long, on top of that, the hair that grows back is much thinner! Let me know if you have any more questions!:)

Re: removal of hair

Is shaping the eyebrows haram in islam or not? many people says that u can do it but only if u're not showing them to other men but ur husband. So is it true? cuz ive seen these women wearing burqa nd all nd giving a prgrm abt islam, but still showing their face+ eyebrows. im confuzed..

Re: removal of hair

Some of the posts made me laugh out loud for sure!

I am going to have to endorse wax, as well. It is the bestest feeling - it thins and softens the hair a LOT. I just randomly decided that shaving was not doing it for me anymore so went to a salon and got it done. Because this isn't something you really discuss with a lot of people, for some time, I had no idea it was haraam. Once I found out that it isn't permissible, I started doing it at home - the first time I did it, it was a huge mess, but it's definitely doable. :)

i use epilator for "downstairs".. at the beginning it was quite painful.. but now i get used to it! and my hairs take about 2-3 weeks when the grow again...

Re: removal of hair

WAIT... Getting waxing done at the salon is not allowed in Islam?
