Re: Recomend your fav desi resturants in different cities
lol. Try the Shahnawaz weekend brunch buffet in Edison, NJ.....and yes naan are included in the fixed buffet price.
Re: Recomend your fav desi resturants in different cities
Naan n Curry in Renton, Washington (part of greater Seattle area).
Its tad bit on expensive side but food is amazing.
Re: Recomend your fav desi resturants in different cities
In Chicago...I would say its Khan BBQ right now...
Sabri on Devon (suburban Sabri always disappoints me) is good too, their butter chicken is excellent.
Usmania is over rated...their butter chicken is crappy all the time.
Spinzer has really good chat.
King Sweets has really good snacks/samosas/mithai
Tahoora is great for mithai
Re: Recomend your fav desi resturants in different cities
In Miami, FL we have crappy restaurants...
but Orlando, FL Bismillah, and apna restaurant...

My hubs loves Shahnawaz. I like their homemade "puri" the best

I will have to try that
Re: Recomend your fav desi resturants in different cities
also Tahoora is great for small keemay walay samosay
I heard good things about it but I had the WORST experience ever, it was the corner one (heard theres two of them).
Yep, never had butter chicken better than that of Sabri! :hi5:
But better pallayo!
Will try that out
True, and the paratha rolls are pretty good too.
Re: Recomend your fav desi resturants in different cities
I'd recommend Shahira for any gupsters likely to visit Newcastle upon Tyne in the future. Food is good, not too pricey and for all Gajar Ka Halwa fans (raise your hands), you won't be disappointed.

I love the lassi as well :) And the chicken roast etc.....just a great spread of food there with so much variety. I think it's better than Shezaan.
My all time fav. in Chicago is Usmania: Chicken Biryani, Brain masala, Chicken Boti & their naans are to die for. Usmania's naans are the only naans that don't become "Chamra" like after some time.
Chopal has the best Chili chicken.
I am an anti Sabri person. Hate their customer service. Their Onion Kulchas are good though.
Last time I went to Khan bbq, my brother had to actually call the waiter back & ask him to put some gosht in the Karahi Gosht.
There is restaurant in Villa Park (a subarb 20 miles west of Chicago) named Hot & Spicy formerly known as Amina's. Their Club sandwich & Chicken boti with garlic mayo roll is off the hook.
In Houston I have liked Mezbaan so far.
Are you talking about that big waiter, hes rude. We call him bazooka. Yeah those kulchaz are awesome. The food at Sabri is good, seriously.

Bazooka. Lol. Now That’s funny. Ever noticed the way they treat their Desi customers verses their “Gora Clientele” ? My friend once called to place an order over the phone. Guy who picked up took the order & then goes like your name & number (understandable) Your last name, Last 4 digits of yr ss & then starting cracking on the phone. Girl was like what the hell. Actually picked one of her guy friends when she went to pick up the order. When the friend asked what was that all about. No one had anything to say & that lame guy Junaid. The Sabri son. Ouhhh I hate him with passion was in fact laughing at the whole thing with the staff. Their staff is the chichoraest desi staff I have seen in America.
About the food. I dunno. I think its getting bland day by day.

There is an easy way of dealing with these people. Call the health inspection dept on them, or better business bureau, or local chapter of chamber of commerce.
Re: Recomend your fav desi resturants in different cities
NYC-- Roti boti (or its shaheen damnit i keep forgetting!) in Jackson Heights, and this one resto in Coney Island (forgot again!)..
TOronto-- lahore tikka house on gerrard. forget decor and all that stuff...food and service is awesome and everytime i've goen its been crowded. Not sure whether its cheap or expensive (but everything in Canada is expensive!)
i haven't been to any other city sadly :(
Re: Recomend your fav desi resturants in different cities
Sadly, there is no desi restaurant that i can recommend in London... What a sorry state of affairs. I avoid going to these places now, they r all disappointments. If anyone can recommend one, i will b happy.
lol you know Junaid too? hehe well a few years ago alot of girls used to think hes cute and just went there because of him! He was actually pretty decent a while back. btw, this one time we were outside and bazooka was taking a smoke and my friend yelled ‘oye bazookey’ and he chased us! p.s. the sabri uncle himself (the ganja walley) is also a character
but has a good heart.
