^^ So just because BBC got the WMD wrong, we are now going to discredit everything they report? That makes sense!

Southie, the problem here isnt of denial. We all know about the Pandits, and we all sympathize.
Firstly, the issue here is simply that Indian blow the Pandit issue way out of proportion. I dont doubt that there were many unfortunate Pandits who were killed and expelled, but their plight is not what the Indians make it out to be. And regardless, this in way justifies Indias ongoing occupation.
Secondly, they use the Pandit tragedy to deflect criticism for ONGOING atrocities being inflicted on the current residents of Kashmir.
Sadly, the Pandits have become nothing more then a cliche at this point. The Indians often cite the Pandits, whoever or where ever they are, as soon as someone critisizes India over its role in Human rights violations. Infact this is a common Indian narrative that they often employ in debates on Kashmir. This along with othr gems such as "when will Pakistans Army leave Azad KAshmri?" or "The Kashmiris participated in elections so they must have accepted India!"
Personally I think its disgusting that these people would use the Pandits to justify their own atrocities. It also exposes the prejudice of these people, who will scream at the top of their lungs in support of the Hindu Pandits, but will never raise a voice in support of Kashmri Muslims who continue to live in the Valley, despite also being Indian, in the estimation of most actual Indians.

You really are amazingly ignorant and self deluded.
This is why you dont deserve respect…

Med, no arguments from me on any of your points. Also, I had corrected some factual error I made in one of my earlier posts re: the portions occupied by India, Pakistan and China.
I agree that there needs to be more honesty regarding this issue.

Why don't you google "Shopian" and you will get numerous independent news stories corroborating what I said in my post ?

Comprehension must be in short supply in your part of the world…
Re: Raytheon offers ‘radiation gun’ to India to quell protests in Kashmir
Med,
A while ago, pak-one had suggested an independent Kashmir. Pakistan to give up its portion, India ditto, and form an independent nation that pledges neutrality. The other solution that also appears reasonable is to have ratio of Pakistan: India occupied Kashmir the same as muslim:non-muslim ratio in 1947 (77:23).
Would you say these two are reasonable compromises? The problem I see with plebiscide is neither country would want to cede Kashmir to the other entirely.
Look forward to your response.
PS - thanks for your nice response re: the Pandits "We all know about the Pandits, and we all sympathize." Words matter, and I am encouraged by this sentiment.

There are many solutions Southie. We have discussed many such situations, as im sure the back room negotiators from both countries have aswell.
Ultimately im certain there is one over riding theme that everyone is fully aware off. That the current situation has to change.
But for anything substantive to occur, there must be movement on the ground. The sides must meet. And I hope the Kashmiris continue their protest, and pressure the involved sides to come to the table and find a resolution.

^ Ameen, Amen, Thathasthu!
{Hopefully protests will be in the style of Gandhi (Indian and Frontier Gandhi}

Lets take baby steps here :) You can start off by googling the "Shopian" investigation.

The investigation you refer to was done by Indian investigators, the CBI to be exact. Not exactly and unbiased investigator.
You may believe your security forces are saints, but no one else does.
There is a long established history of such crimes committed by your security forces, so cases like the one in Shopian are not an exception, and are certainly not surprising, EXCEPT to ultra Nationalist Indians who would somehow find justification for every crime committed by their country.
"As in most conflict zones, Kashmiri women have been subjected to violence. According to a study by Medecins Sans Frontieres, Kashmiri women suffer some of the highest rates of sexual violence in the world.
"Sexual violence has been routinely perpetrated on Kashmiri women, with 11.6 per cent of respondents saying they were victims of sexual abuse," a 2005 study reported."
There is a long established history of such crimes being commited by your Army.
Re: Raytheon offers ‘radiation gun’ to India to quell protests in Kashmir
the protest is in only five districts in the valley, Jammu and Laddakh are peaceful and will stay with india even if plebiscite takes place. people should have right to self determination, in that case kashmir will go far azadi (as per my experience with the people of that region) kashmiris don’t like Pakistani either, operation Gibraltar is another proof of it. kashmiris are of Dardic ethnicity, there are gujjars, bakarwals and nearly 60000 sikhs in the valley. final solution should fulfill aspiration of Kashmiri pundits too.
Kashmir matter is international, otherwise Indian government does not care about disturbance in 4-5 districts when 40-50 are disturbed by Maoist:blush:

Any investigation done in India will be done by Indian investigation agencies only. As proven by the Samjhauta Express & Malegaon blast investigation, CBI is not biased. Moreover, claims of being biased can be leveled against any investigating agency looking into this. So the two options are either to accept the investigation results or keep crying till eternity about the investigations being biased. Take your pick !

Kashmir isnt India, and any investigation done by India in occupied Kashmir is suspicious simply because all Indians are biased in the case of Kashmir.
The truth of the matter is that there is a long established history of such crimes being committed by your army, regardless of whether you accept it or not.
We dont have to cry to anyone. We all know the truth. Your countries incompetence in such cases, the level of corruption and long established tradition of bias in not just this case, but many others simply shows how uninformed and ignorant you are.
Now you can continue to bark endlesly in support of your Occupation army based solely on one biased investigation, but there are many other resources documenting your Armies crimes. You can choose to ignore the facts, and that may soothe your conscience, but it just simply reestablishes the fact that your and ignorant mouth piece for your govt.
Re: Raytheon offers ‘radiation gun’ to India to quell protests in Kashmir
Let them decide.. Tahst the best solution. If those that want to stay with India, actually want to stay with India, then let them do so. Those that want their freedom, let them have it.
If we could brak up the Punjab because the Majority wanted to go with Pakistan, so can we have a the same solution with Kashmir.

Okay agreed, they should decide. So where to conduct plebiscite in that case? Be specific,
Pray, don’t tell Punjab as an example, my ancestor came with ghutteries on their head. And same is true for people who migrated from this side. Partition of India is worst example of humanity in the history of sub continent. Imagine the plight of those Sikhs and hindu OBC who would come to India in that case Kashmir goes to independence or Pakistan. At least these people should be given some sort of monetary compensation to start new life in an unknown land by kashmiri people and vice versa. Personally, I don’t want partition to be repeated.
Whatever happens to Kashmir, rights of kashmiri pundits to their land is as much as that of muslims, they are living in the valley even before prophet(pbuh) was born
