Re: ...Ramadan Pet Peeves...

Being a non muslim, I tried fasting trying to impress a muslim girl who lived next door - the first 2 days were barely manageable, but the 3rd day was torture, I felt wobbly & weak.

But in those youthful days, it was worth it - atleast she and her family thought I was an 'idiot' for not eating anything for 3 days!!.

Re: ...Ramadan Pet Peeves...

awww

Re: …Ramadan Pet Peeves…

yeah i’ve read that in a book too.

and about pet peeves.. am too hungry to think of one :bummer:

Re: …Ramadan Pet Peeves…

I have another one

Ok, when we stand up for the prayer and the Imam says make sure your lines are straights, the dude (mostly uncle) on my right/left would ask me to move to align myself with him but he WON’T move. In most cases, lets say the line on my right is straight but the uncle on my left it a little ahead, he would ask me to move ahead to align with him rather than HIM moving BACK to align himself with the row. If I listen to him, then uncle on my right would want me to move ahead to align myself with him :aj: They wouldn’t move because they think they are standing at a perfect spot.

Maheen It’s almost iftaari time there, here I just woke up and it’s only 10:35 :bummer:

Re: ...Ramadan Pet Peeves...

^ lol thats so true. and i esp hate it when your meant to join feet and women don't do that.. they want their own little space, stay at home then! and those somalian big aunties, they step ON your feet.. your supposed to join feet, not hurt ppl!

still got more than 2 hrs till iftar.

Re: …Ramadan Pet Peeves…

Exactly! Ignore that little spoiled brat AE, let’s go have fun :shikra:

So women have problems too :hmmm: It’ll be interesting to know what kind of problems/issues they have.

Re: …Ramadan Pet Peeves…

Ok this is not a pet peeve, but rather something interesting.

So I left Masjid last night and while walking out to the parking lot, 3 girls (must be in 20s) were walking in front of me. 2 were dressed in skirts & hijab and the 3rd one was in abaya and hijab. Everything was okay until I looked to my right at the cars passing by on the road and then looked back. When I looked back in front of me, the one in abaya and hijab was fine. However, the scarfs for the other 2 had come and they were fixing their hair. 1 had almost sleeveless shirt (she wasn’t holding the abaya in her hand like the other one) and the other one had taken her abaya off and was holding it in her hand. ALSO, the one who was holding the abaya, she was walking while holding her skirt above her knees  but she had jeans underneath but STILL! Ther former one was also walking while holding her skirt up and she had a pink pajama underneath. I was like whoa! :mudhosh:

Re: …Ramadan Pet Peeves…

shikra…sometimes girls were hijab and abaya when they go to the masjid to out of respect. It doesnt mean that they do it outside of the masjid. I wear a hijab when I enter the masjid as well…and I keep it on til I leave.

…and if she has jeans underneath of her skirt and she lifted the skirt up to her knees…then what’s the  all about? :hehe: she’s not showing her legs!!

Re: …Ramadan Pet Peeves…

screaming bratty kids and lazy annoying women who are’t even praying…faida kya anay ka, i can understand if its social event, but why come during prayer time when ur not even going to pray :naraz:

Re: …Ramadan Pet Peeves…

:smack: now you’re really gonna make her wonder!!

Re: …Ramadan Pet Peeves…

I knowwwwwww!!..I hate women that come just to socialize and show off their makeup and clothes.

Re: ...Ramadan Pet Peeves...

tell me abt it . they bring little kids along that practically start climbing on people when the prayers start. women keep on discussin what they cooked , whos getting married to who and how they are so ill whilst the imam is talking and dont evemn get me started on somali aunties they want to trample they think to join shoulders means to squash a poor human being between them.

Re: …Ramadan Pet Peeves…

I didn’t mean it in a bad way. was in a good way and when I originally typed that post, I had written “I was like whoa baby” but then edited that part  I don’t mean to imply that they should be in abaya at all times but it was just weird to see them walking with their skirts (long skirts) lifted up. I mean even if you have jeans underneath, what’s the point of lifting your skirts and walking holding them :-/ I still found it amusing

Speaking of those kids, one guy had to come in and announce that there were a couple of little kids who were playing on the ROAD! The masjid is at an intersection and there is a lot of traffic there at all times. It’s hard to see little kids on the road at night. Regardless of Imam requesting everyday that please make sure you know where your kids are, people just don’t give a damn! When we were leaving, I saw myself 2 kids (8-10) trying to cross the roads and one car barely stopped by them and he/she honked at them. I felt like slaping those kids, seriously.

Who cares about her, lemme go reply to your PM :whistling and if she asks you something, tell her that it’s NONE OF HER BUSINESS!!!
