Rajputs II

Re: Rajputs II

80% of Nishan-e Haiders in Pakistan are held by Rajput Martyers. Now that is something positive and to be proud of, nothing wrong with that. I have also heard (not confirmed) that at army recruitment centres they prefer jawans from Rajput backgrounds. Rajputs and Marhatta were the only challenges faced by Mongols (Moghuls) when they invaded India. Marhattas were defeated but Rajputs continued to fight and eventually the Moghuls started establishing family relationships and marrying in Rajputs. Akbar's wife and Jajhangir's mother was a rajput named Joda rani. So much for the next pure Moghul lineage which was compromised long time ago. My point at the end is that be proud of who you are, be humble and compassionate to others and always remember that from Islamic point of view the only superiority you have on others is based on your islamic deeds and islamic actions and not your heritage.

Re: Rajputs II

Agreed! me in the same order of Proud Muslim, Pakistani, Punjabi and Rajput.

Re: Rajputs II

I think Pride in any form is a sin, as the one who has even little pride in him/her will not enter in Jannah.

Re: Rajputs II

Yes they did under the command of Yahya Khan and Niazi the so called brave Pathans. How can you forget that Mr. Fraudia??

Re: Rajputs II

There are different definitions of pride unless you are sure what kind is being discussed one should refrain from giving fatwas. In Quran God says to Muslims you are among the best of the ummahs, now that is something to be proud of.

Re: Rajputs II

^Have you ever heard from the Prophet(SAW) or a Sahabi(ra) or a scholar.......that they are proud muslims. ' Proud muslim ' sounds so unislamic. What would a non muslim think if you say in front of him ' I'm a proud muslim '?

The right way to show your love towards being a muslim is to say ' Alhamdulilah I'm a muslim '..............as a muslim remembers Allah everytime.

Also Prophet Muhammad(SAW) never said that he is a proud Mekkan or proud Qureshi.

And its not about giving fatawa..............there is something called ' Islamic Manners '.

Re: Rajputs II

No..................we should say Alhamdulilah for that. And as long as I remember the ayah is adressing also to the non muslims that are include in Prophet Muhammad(SAW)'s Ummah.

May be someone can confirm it. As I dont remember the surah or ayah.

Alhamdollilah I am proud to be a Muslim so bite me.

Re: Rajputs II

oh so the brave never surrender pathans were involved in it too.
How can I forget that? hmmmm because I did not know it to begin with :D

Re: Rajputs II

once upon a time being a rajput was considered equivalent to nationalism.

Re: Rajputs II

We are a race and ethnicity first and Muslim later. As for Pakistaniyath, a constructed and artificail identity can never replace an evolved identity.

Re: Rajputs II

how come no one ever bothers to answer my questions

Re: Rajputs II

you are saying this because you have a seperate country...so now you are flying in high air....

go and ask this question to palestians..or gujrati muslims of india..then you will know..what is nationalism..and where the boundaries of halal...and haram.... are seperated !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

you do not consider you as pakistani ...and i challenge you....

in pakistan....

our shoes and clothes are not taken down on the Pakistan Airport as on **Heatrow or on JF Canady Airport.....*

*neither after 7 7 2006...in pakistan...we are seen as suspicious whoever has a beard or taking hijaab.....

neither in Pakistan debates go on Niqaab as in **Black Burn ....*by former Foriegn Minister....

*neither in Pakistan..we heard the voices of Go Paki Go....to your land....

  • Neither in restaurants and in public places we Pakistanis are treated as third class citizen of our country...as you people are treated in restaurants of Bloomsburry or Chelsea.....

*neither our self ego and dignity is ruined by a common britisher as you have.....

*niether in Pakistan ..our connection is pasted with Al Qaeda and terrorists....

i challenfge you hareem....

just you have seperate country...you are not realizing this thing...if you have not...then you yourself..what false and baseless claims you are making..about your own country.....

where my self dignity and ego is not kept...i give 1000 times lanat on that land.....

have you not heard the Theory of Khudi of Iqbal...i also indicated in the Iqbal thread.....khudi..is the most precious thing of a living nation or individual ....go and read this ......

and i have already told you that nationalism is ..which you are taliking ..into totally wroong angle.....Prophet(pbuh) himself left makkah with tears in eyes ..and with the worsds..that makkah ..you is dearest to me...but your sons do not allow me to live here safely....

so how can you declare nationalism haram...which prophet(pbuh) have not declared it...are you above the saying of prophet(pbuh) !!!!!!

one man came to prophet(pbuh) and asked that ..is loving your rtribe and city is sin...prophet(pbuh) replied..no...but you should not help your city people in zulm...just for your love.....

we live in pakistan as resectable citizen of our country...we have a respect as the only...atomic power of 56 of muslims country and 7 of the world.....

and i challenge you....

just recognize yourself as a britisher muslim...not pakistani....

then which respect you get.....then you will tell me !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

and i have quoted the examples above ....of airport and restaurants etc....

self ego is the most biggest asset of one's life and nation's life also...where this thing is mudslingered.....i prefer death over it !!!!!!!!!!!!

Re: Rajputs II

you cant be...........................you cant be a muslim and cant be proud at the same time.

Re: Rajputs II

Acha...............how?

I didn't choose to be born in a rajput family nor i choose to be born in pakistan...........but i choose to be a muslim and Alhamdulilah for that.

Re: Rajputs II

of course i do consider myself a pakistani but nationalism is not identity ....nationalism is a life style based around the supremacy of one's nation over other nations.

For Palestinians its different bcoz their home has been taken away from them so they have to continue calling themselves palestinians bcoz they live in other countries as refugee status not out of choice.

  • They take shoes off anyone they choose ...not just pakistani passport holders. they even let most pakistanis go without checking.

  • Suspisions of beard and hijab are partly due to our own paranoia and also due to propaganda from media.

  • As if in Pakistan people wear niqaab........and those who wear it are called ninjas and jahil by fellow pakistani guppies.

  • why dont you hear ' go paki go to your land '......because you are already in pakistan. However, when whites(westerners) comeover to pakistan we worship them bcoz of their money and their colour. But when we go to west we never consider it our home ....we never do community activities....we avoid paying tax.......we date their girls........So are you surprised they say this?

*as for being treated in restaurants ...this is the fault of racial prejudice in the elite west bcoz their social circles despise difference.....centuries ago when muslims were leaders of the world then some muslims used to look upon the europeans despisingly. Both are unIslamic.

  • Dignity for a muslimah is known by her hijab, I wear hijab. And ego in the sense of pride is haram. You have said I am ruined and I say nothing like that to you ... which is better?

  • Actually ... in recent films and documentaries people are saying the biggest training camps for (mujahideen) that the west call 'terrorists' are or were based in Pakistan.

I only chose to live in the West but I haven't given up my identity ....if Pakistan's government or any other government chooses to take this away from me then I have a right to fight for my birth place. This is what Islam has made acceptable for me not what pakistan or UK have made acceptable for me.

No I haven't....please explain it to me.

The Prophet(SAW)'s love for his birth place and house of Allah is not nationalism............and besides that Makkah and Madinah are spritual home for all the muslims.

Nationalism is when somebody puts their country and its current government above their religion.

Good hadith .... Islam is love your land and people when they are good but do not support when bad, but nationalism is love them and support them regardless of when the people and land are good or bad. Do you understand now?

This is nationalistic.................we should not love our country for having an atomic bomb.....Atom bomb is a bad thing it causes only destruction.
And Pakistanis got the technology plans to build it from the West.

Britisher is a wrong term....anyway.......I'm not a british muslim.......i'm a pakistani living in the UK......and do not want british passport.

My husband and children are british though bcoz of their birth right.

If by ego you mean religious identity then I agree............but if you mean being proud of my birth place purely bcoz i was born there or being from my race means that this is special or superior in any way then i disagree.

Peace to you.

Re: Rajputs II

To be a good Muslim, one accepts the heritage and customs
of the ancestors. When you die, its your near circle and the people
you have something in common, they will give you your last "ghusl"
and pray for your "jinnazah". They are the first to be there for your family and to assist any possible way.
"Insaan apni shinaacht sey apne ko kaat nahin sakta."

Whomever keeps a strong identity living abroad, are more successful
than other confused desis. We dont need to separate the two fundamental
ids each of us possesses. A balance out look is more called for. Various types of research confirms whatever Ive tried to come across with.
I think, its very typical we as Muslims cant take two steps without making it to crime or unislamic...even better....haram/sinful etc. Its the dark ages mentality. Why not keep things simple and uncomplicated?
