I wanted to write about this Rajput topic, I knew this would become a hot topic here.
Well from own personal experience and I have a lot of experience with rajputs as my whole fathers family are true rajputs (Bhattis), my grandfather was in the army and his cousin was Sarwar shaheed who got the first nashain e haider in Pakistan, our village is very famous in the region because of this and other features.
Rajputs are very proud of their heiratage, they are not white or fair as moin noted, at least not the ones from my fathers family that I have seen, BUT they are tall and well build. Almost everyone from my father’s family have good health and good strong body.
My mom’s family also calls themself rajputs, they are Rajas but their ancestors immigrated from Kashmir, thats why in my moms family they are fairly fair (but not as tall) and quite a few have green eyes. My husband’s family Rajas from the next district as my father’s have the same features as my father’s family
So a true Rajput in my opinion are dark and tall. (This is not a racist point, but my reasearch of the Rajputs from the Pothwar Area.
our identity is muslims and Pakistanis...thats all...these tribal..racial...names..originally from Hindu muslim 1000 years inter-mixing do nothing...simple !!!!!
Oh really identity is nothing, then why do u have a name, just call yourself muslim 1024454878787 of this world.
If I am not wrong then tribe concept was allways present in this world.
Its not a fact that one tribe is better than the other, but the fact that we belong to some “group of people”, thats all.
Yes I know we’re muslims pakistani (not that all of us feel pakistani) Oh well … :halo:
So you are rajput bhatti…same here. Our lineage goes back to Hindu King ’ Prithvi Raj '. There is nothing to be proud of or ashamed of your cast as everyone is equal but its interesting to know about your ancestors.

I still don’t get the fascination people have with their castes but I guess as long as they’re not the types that will make others feel like crap for being of a lower caste, or have the whole “you cannot marry out of the zaat/family to keep the bloodline pure” paindu mentality…then theres nothng wrong with simply knowing abt it :k:

How come the tribal spirits and tribalism is alive and well all over the middle east then, where this whole idea was challenged? The reason is that You are a muslim first ofcourse but you do have some identity, affiliation, blood lines and traits related to some tribe or group which God made so that you can identify and affiliate yourself.

i agree also and its not only in places like pakistan its all over europe as well there are so many different types of ancient cultures and traditions and the people like to keep note of their history and lineage. For example in the UK the scots and the welsh and the english are all quite different and have different traditions. The scots even have a whole clan system. And the italians are also similar ( venetians have different cultural traditions and festivals from sicilians etc etc)
So its ok for us pakistanis to also be proud of whatever tribe or caste or ethinicity we are ( pathan sindhi punjabi whatever) as long as we're not racist and derogatory to the others
