^Same thing just happened to one of my relatives just a couple of weeks ago. She's divorced and went back home to marry some rich guy in Pakistan, but neglected to tell them she's been married before AND there's some (confirmed!) history of mental illness with her.
Not least to say, her MIL is not happy, as they all found out the truth the day after the wedding :/

**i agree with you 100%, they did make a very grave mistake which is horrible but the cruel way he divorced his wife is also equally horrible!. ...

...it's quite common in rural India to hide medical conditions from perspective rishtas hoping that after the marriage the bride would say that this is the first time it happened and that the husband and the in-laws will accept it...and, it usually happens that way.**

The same thing happened to a distant cousin recently. His wife told him on wedding night that the doctor had strictly forbidden her relatives from her marriage considering her illness. The boy, however, kept himself composed and asked her that he will do anything for her treatment. When the inlaws of the girl knew the situation, they had lots of arguments with the bride’s parents and they forced the guy to divorce. But the guy refused to do so. Eventually his mother left the home and came back on the condition that the bride will leave the home. Now the girl is at her Mayeka and on her parent’s request boy’s relative agree to the extent that there will be no divorce. They have been heard saying ’ Shareefon main talaq nahin hoti’ :smack:

Heard that boy’s relative have started looking for new Bahoo.

Yes its not, but facing ppl after divorce and starting a new life especially girls (in desi society) is not an easy task.

It is sad indeed how there is such stigma attached to divorced and widowed men and women, Islamically speaking and in terms of humanity as well theres no real justification for such stigma unless there has been a deliberate transgression. However majority are not deliberate transgressions merely peoples attitudes and egos getting the better of them... Oh and society is also such that no matter what route you travel you will always face critics who really dont know anything, but in society they make themselves the "masters" of all affairs.

Seen so many divorces for I THINK
the quicker the better.The timing for marriage and divorce is written in destiny.Means no one has control over it.

The quickest divorce xtron has seen was for 3 days. Divorced happen because DIL snapped at fella's mom pretty bad swore at her or something. So ya!..she was sent home by this guy.

Personally mine was six months, I hate people that say shaadi kar ke teek ho jaye gai shaadi isn't some medicine that makes people better from moral corruption or mental illness

Erm. Well I'm single again and on the look, its pretty heartbreaking but life isn't perfect.

One of the guys I knew ditched his wife literally on the alter. It turned out he got scared when he saw her in the bridezella mode and realized that the girl was more in to the wedding then marriage itself. He had to take a loan for the reception ceremony as she has specific ideas about the wedding dress, decor and catering. That was ok, until she started screaming on smaller issues like avocados not ripe enough in salad and lilies not being available.
It was like a scene out of a movie when the pastor asked "do you take ________ as your wedded wife etc." and the guy said "No" after a looooooong pause, it was such a shock for the bride that she started hitting the groom on the alter.
We the guests didn't even knew how to respond, it was so awkward.

1 week.....and it was all his fault...he was extremely kanjoos despite the fact that he was a well-off man. its funny the type of kanjoos things he used to do with his wife. LOL

No offense but makes no sense. Although different state laws vary....generally community property starts on the day the legal marriage paper is signed. So if they were married for 1 week...legally she would be entitled to his "earnings" for that 1 week (although most judges wouldnt even approve that). She would not be able to claim any properties, assets, income etc. from BEFORE the marriage. If this really is how the whole thing happened....then I'd LOVE to find out what idiot represented him.
