Mubasher Lucman, please don't get dishearted by the stupid e-mails quite frankly you are wasting your time and energy listening to them. You are a kind of director who has a formal education and is very educated, I don't think we have that kind of directors in Pakistan film industry.
Artists really don't care about what people think you know, do you think Ghalib did? Or let me give you some latest example, Michael Moore, Mel Gibson etc. If I were you...

Wow. All this information about lollywood and I just noticed this thread today!
Mr. Lucman don't bother over the hate mails just ignore them if you must.
Many people raised the point of using Indian playback singers for movies when we have talent in our own nation. I remember some time back that ARY held auditions in Pakistan and Dubai looking for playback singers who would sing for an Indian movie and I must say that some of them were very good. Why don't we have this happening for our Pakistani movies? This could also be done when searching for new actresses and actors. Not only will this introduce new talent into the media but also save the producers some bucks. Why go through the hassle of waiting for some arrogant actor who comes late 8 hours when a newcommer will be on time and you will get more done?

So now, only 2 weeks till Pehla Pehla Pyaar...you must be feeling jittery Mr Lucman!What is the pre-release feedback from the distributors like? Do you plan to hold any advance screenings and/or premieres in Karachi/Lahore?

Yes I am getting some feedback both positive and otherwise. Actually my distributors are getting a heart attack as I am still here they want in Pakistan where I can promote my film more aggresively by taking all cast etc and television interviews and that stuff. But I have almsot finished my work and inshallah shal be going back with my print the day after tommorow. The only problem in front of us is the chairman censor eboard who ahs made a statement a week back that he will nto allow any films to be censored if any of their work is done in India. This is purely personal as you know the same gentleman ahs censored almot 30 films that had Indian singers etc and also actors (Bullet). Its really mindblowing the kind of pressures one has to withstand in our country just to make an effort you ahve to be able to g----- palms all the way or one gets stuck........Anyway I shall find out the latest in two days time when I get back.
Yes we are having two premiers in Karachi and tehn in lahore and a live shop on ARY digital. Thats when I can also talk about the Gup Shup foruma nd hence yuor members will know if its an imposter or not???
I agree the amount of talent is wasted in pakistan but the important thing is to be able to develop a platform so its not just once or twice but on a regularl absis that we can hunt good talent. Also that paltform must go beyond the major cities and expand into the rural areas as well.
Thanks for telling me to ignore suchmail, and one does but there are moments when you sit back and say...God, I take out time specially perhaps 20 minutes or so just about everyday simlpy to get on this forum and there are people who think I have the time and the energy to respond back witht eh same venom or negativity..frankly I dont have that energy. I am trying my best to ignore them some of them haev been put on a blocked list as well.

I am really terrible with my spellings....I must be forcing you all to really concentrate very hard to read each mail..I am truly sorry for that. Actually its no excuse but seriously I have so little time for instance I am in the lab right now and in Thailand and this is the lunch hour that I have devoted to your forum. I shall only be here for 15 minutes or so then get my lunch and back to work. Hence the desire to be fast and speedy that results in so many mistakes.
By the way news from Lahore is that Mr Umer Shareef is out of danger and is on the way to recovery but his doctors have advised him an immediate bypass surgery. I hope we all can pray for his health and speedy recovery.

hey...well...i juzz recently joined this forum for the sole purpose of defending and advocating Mr.Lucman.No one here needs to doubt the fact that he is THE Mubasher Lucman.Why am I this affirmitive?well...I've had the honour of meeting Mr.Lucman in person.(Twice...and,just the thought of it makes me feel special)He is a true genius at work and his mental outreach and skills ought to be appreciated here.Just the fact that he's contributing to our cine industry deserves kudos.Plus...yessss...he is blunt but very very honest.Without intentionally attempting to hurt anyone, he says what he feels like.And finally i guess we can only support him by going to the best cinemas in our cities to watch and enjoy Pehla Pehla Pyar, his brainchild, and then use this platform to discuss that masterpiece...

Mr Lucman, with the relaease date just around the corner, and possibly all the promotional preoccupations you have, not to mention the tons of other stuff which comes along with releasing a film, we are all really glad that you continue to post here! The spellings are fine...don't worry about it! It would be interesting so this forum being mentioned on ARY! We hope you get around the censor problems, and everything comes into place for you to release this film as planned on 12th August!

First things first. Reema's film is being released with 15 prints and not all in DTS cinemas.
Mine are all DTS we booked much in advance.
Thanks a lot Bollybuster I promise I shall mention your forum nto only on ARY but also otehr channels that are lined up to interview me. I think you can perhaps see it on ARY as that comes to both UK and the US.
Mysterious Guy, thanks for your words of support. Maybe next time around I will try out all local singers but I still do not promise all local behind the scenes crew like cameraman etc. You have to give me that many margins please. Atleast for some time till we can have ours trained adequately. Or maybe if the budgets allow then I would rather hire a European or an American!!!!!!!!!
By The way Shoaib Mansur did hire one American and apparently his results so far have been awesome of whatever shoot that he has done. A very young school fellow of mine Shanshah Rizvi (Owner of Shahnoor Studios) has made some good investments into new equipment and has recently imported new cameras, steady cams. lenses etc. Shoaib's film has been shot on his equipment and the results are awesome, brilliant. So slowly but yes we have begun to get the good equipment into Pakistan and there are youngsters like yourselves who believe in their own county and have started to invest in its infrastructure.
But you know the sad part, most of us producers do not wish to hire that equipment or pay him an increased rental?? They would rather pay him the same rentals that they have been paying for years for ARRI 2 C 33 year old cameras!!!!This is despite the fact that he is still renting out his equipment much cheaper than what you would get out of India. So I guess whilst we keep on complaining about lack of facilities when we get them we are not ready to pay for them. So at this time my friend is mostly occupied by the Karachi advertising industry mainly and the odd videos shot on the film format.
News for you is that tommorow Shahzad Rafique gets back from India to Pakistan after completing the screenplay of his upcoming film (Still to be titled). It is being written by a very prominent Indian screen play writer. I am sworn not to let out the name of the producer at this point in time but very soon you shall get to know it and trust me most of you would already be great fans of that guy.....One hint..He is from karachi...
Bollybuster yesterday while chatting with Suhaib on msn it struck me that we should develop a web page or a site about all kinds of news flashes and reports and interviews from the lahore film industry and also Karachi television and modelling industries.
Immediately after the release of my film I plan to initiate that. Any ideas how should we go about it???Please also try and give some very easy ones as I cant design and regularlly upload it unless I hire a person specifically for that job and then we have to do it commercially...
please advise and all my other friends on the forum please you too can give your inputs after all we have the same passion and love in common and specially for the betterment of our country. I feel there is virtually no news about us outside and that whatever little there is it is all negative. There has to be a way for developing an online archive of the glory years, compilation of all music, and so many other details that we can give, does nt have to be all gossip...
