Mixed reports are coming in, but its known for certain that the film's made it BIG in Lahore. Karachi is picking up. Dunno about Isb/'Pindi.

I just hope that PPP is a hit because then Mubasher Luqman can pay back the 46 lakh rupees he owes to Thailand film lab. According to the film lab Mubasher had 16 prints of his film processed by this lab but did a runner and failed to pay.
The film lab in turn has complained to the Pakistani Consulate in Thailand and has threatened to boycott Pakistani films in the future.
The film lab has also contacted the concerned people in the Pakistani film industry regarding the situation.
Luqman has not just given a bad name to the film industry but also to Pakistan.
Mubasher Luqman must came with a pretty good explanation.

My uncle told me that he brought only one print n August and the rest he was suppose to bring at the release. He did not pay his dues to the Bangkok Lab and brought the prints from someplace else. I have asked him to find out the whole story as he has a friend in Lollywood. He will let me know tomorrow.

i think he was only suppose to bring 1 print, the rest were to be copied in pak from that print.

No offense, but anything that is a hit in Lahore, and not immediately in Karachi reeks to me of cheapness. Karachittes have better taste.

All these recriminations make me just wonder that are you guys on the payroll of that supposed "lab" in Bangkok? Why would anyone give a freakin fu** about it? You guys ought to have sense that most corporations have better financial arrangements than to just let people get away with the stuff without paying. This is a multinational film-processing lab, not your corner paan store. Anyway that's that, I'm really mad that its been over a week since it released, and the film's still got NO reviews in the mainstream non-Urdu press, which totally sucks. Apathy is written on the walls.

Cupid’s arrow misfires

Depilex Vision’s Pehla Pehla Pyar is a misdirected attempt at film-making. Mubasher Lucman directs the flick and sadly joins Faheem Burney and Asif Ali Pota in the ever-growing list of directors who migrated from TV to film, but failed to impress in their first attempt. The film seems more like a play on a private TV channel than a feature film, based on the tried and tested and done-to-death love-triangle formula.
