Re: Question for Mr Lucman / Mubasher Lucman Corner (Merged)
Yes thats right. I was invited by the AJK PM and some of us got awards from him for our contributions to quake victims.
Yep sad news but Nishat will be going down soon and according to my friend Nadeem mandviwalla the owner of the cinema PPP will perhpas be the last movie to be shown in that cinema. What a lovely and beautiful waste. A great tragedy of massive proportions.
Sadee the host got cut from the show after the program. Actually they cut out a lot of our discussions so it may just seem that I was shouting aimlessly but since I mentioned even PTV a lot for its dual policies they simply edited the show. I Told the host when he claimed Robert Di Niro and Al paCino were known to him and he went on blasting the film industry with no clue about the reasons that I blasted him and told him that people like him should be banned for not doing their home work. Guess what he may not have been banned but he was cut off..

Re: Question for Mr Lucman / Mubasher Lucman Corner (Merged)
That's the thing. How many of these new complexes actually feature cinema theatres in them? In Karachi, I have not heard of one.
I think the idea, if played out right, could be a hit. You could show brand new movies in the theatre. But people these days have full flat screen tv's in their homes, and plasmas, etc, and all they need to do is get the DVD from a place like rainbow centre or clifton shops, and they're set.
People don't want to sit next to other Pakistanis who haven't put on a darn deoderant or showered in 2 days when watching any movie, whether its foreign or not.
Re: Question for Mr Lucman / Mubasher Lucman Corner (Merged)
It's really silly lamenting about falling cinema houses when the Lahore industry is making films which do not even deserve a single viewing. The whole problem behind this has been talked about to death, the only end result of the present situation is that the people who're making that stuff are not only cannibalising their own livelihood but also alienating the audiences. So it's only rational for the theatres to close shop when there are no takers! However, a string of successful, decent, well-made films, and the theatres will be back.
Oh while I'm on this, have to say that that deoderant rant is absolute crap.
Re: Question for Mr Lucman / Mubasher Lucman Corner (Merged)
Right, but have their cinemas been totally built in physical? Or are they using the space of other cinema houses? I'm sure if they are, pakistani people would know about it?
