Re: Question for Mr Lucman / Mubasher Lucman Corner (Merged)

Re: Question for Mr Lucman / Mubasher Lucman Corner (Merged)

Hey guys...i just wanted to share sumthing with u ppl...my cousins living in Glasgow, happened to watch Reema's new movie and they told me the other day how awful it was for them. They said it was sooo 'good-for-nothing'.Its showy and shiny but not slick.THE MUSIC IS A HUGE MINUS POINT, they said.Only one song works...that babrik-simran one. They said they had heard Saroj Khan was gonna choreograph it n literally nothing proved to be her typical oomph in this movie.Only Nadeem was a saving grace. They said Reema was bak at where she started...wearing skimpy blouses under shining saris and sporting blank expressions. The mommy part was badly written and Veena malik lacked the vampish bit rather provided a comic relief...I definitely guess it was all xpected...but i still m keeping my fingers crossed for u MR.Lucman...we know ursz wud b a masterpiece!!!
Re: Question for Mr Lucman / Mubasher Lucman Corner (Merged)
^ lol!
They haven’t seen the typical Pakistani movie then. Believe it or not - what you’ve described is a lot better than what one can say for a typical pakistani movie.
They need to make a documentary on the progression of cinema in Pakistan so people can appreciate efforts…
but thanks for the laugh though. ![]()

Re: Question for Mr Lucman / Mubasher Lucman Corner (Merged)
hmmn...i guess earlier...indian flick WAQT was releezd there in UK and came no.9 on UK top ten chart...it had that good a reception there...and automatically thoz ppl started comparing this 'idiotic tribute to karan johar' movie made by reema ji...to WAQT...with all my apologies and regards to late mr'smjad bobby, that theme song koi tujh sa...duz leave ur mouth sour n bitter...it's sort of crude...very raw...
Re: Question for Mr Lucman / Mubasher Lucman Corner (Merged)
oh i c - so it was directly hit by an Indian movie. Well, the bright side is hopefully that Pakistani directors and producers will understand that even with the best movies they are coming up with, they're still doing something wrong.
I mean is it so hard to give the name Amna or Aisha or something just plain muslim to a muslim character in a Pakistani movie? What is up with these Pinki's and crappy made-up artificial names like that?
Gah. Reema might have had a blockbuster script in her hand, but when you have THOSE kinds of names for your actors/actresses, then forget it - no one is going to take it seriously.
And Veena Malik, really cannot act at all. She should just leave and do something else with her life.
Re: Question for Mr Lucman / Mubasher Lucman Corner (Merged)
well saadee jee you are just full of ****, because the music of ktsk is the usp of the film, it was a masterpiece. Maybe you need a mental check up.
Re: Question for Mr Lucman / Mubasher Lucman Corner (Merged)
evrybuddy perceives evrything very differently...a masterpiece to sumone mite end up being a flat bread for another...
Re: Question for Mr Lucman / Mubasher Lucman Corner (Merged)
A film may and will move different people in different ways. There is no reason for anyone to get annoyed if another has a conflicting opinion. Whats the latest on Reema's film in UK? Anyone has an idea how much did it gross? Suhaib maybe you can let us know.
Its sad and amazing that after the greatest publicity in the recent history Reema has failed to draw huge numbers to the box office. Unfortunately many rejected the movie without even going to see it and thats unfair. How else do you suppose films will get better if people do not even make an attempt to see them???
Re: Question for Mr Lucman / Mubasher Lucman Corner (Merged)
well it grossed 10 lacks in its first weekend, in the second weekend it didnt even make it to the charts so the whole figures arnt availble but i doubt it made more then 20 lacks.
and reemas publicity wasnt up 2 mark, the print quality of the trailors and songs was really bad, and she was claiming she used the lastest technology and cameras for them and the only place her traliors were running were on b4u, geo wernt even promoting it properly, the last time i saw the trailor on geo was at the begining of august. Another bad thing she did was she gave her interviews and promotion campaigns on cheap channels what no one watches like vectone and dm and no advertisments at all on radio. But the main thing which kept people away from the film was the badly made trailors, they looked like indian films from the 80's, plus she gave her whole songs, 5 minutes long to b4u, no one shows you a whole song of there film before its release and i dont think anyones interested in watching it either plus one of the songs which comes on is a sad song which lasts 6 minutes and all it does is shows reema crying.
Re: Question for Mr Lucman / Mubasher Lucman Corner (Merged)
if you would want to release your film here i would suggest you make 4 trailors around 30/40 seconds long of your songs and include a dialogue trailor around 2 minutes long and promote them aggresivly on b4u, ary, zee tv, geo tv also you should promote your film on 2 radio stations here, sunrise radio and club asia. and dont forget to do a premier here in a top cinema and invite all the stars there and show it on ary or geo, thats one thing reema didnt do is well.
Re: Question for Mr Lucman / Mubasher Lucman Corner (Merged)
I agree but honestly my main concern is the Pakistan market for I truly believe that unless a film draws big locally it will never do well Internationally and I think most of us get carried by the lure of UK and USa whilst they should concentrate more on local market the international sales will always come if the film does well locally.
Re: Question for Mr Lucman / Mubasher Lucman Corner (Merged)
I think you've already mentioned it - one of the reasons people don't go out to see these movies is because of the quality of theatres...
They prefer to wait for a dvd to come out, and even then, because of piracy issues, the film-makers wont make money off the dvd much anyway...
Maybe the tactic the film industry should use...is to fix up theatres first - show American films - you'll get plenty of a crowd - pple will dish out money on that sort of entertainment...
Then you can show your pakistani movies in those theatres...later on, once its pulled a crowd in...
At least, if I was in the business that is what I would do...a theatre showing american flicks will gross in more profit than making a movie, no matter how many Indians you get to help you out on it.
Re: Question for Mr Lucman / Mubasher Lucman Corner (Merged)
well PCG a minimum investment to make a multiplex is about 15 crores...thats a lot of investment for a film maker. Besides, hollywood flicks are the ones that took a major beating at the box office for when it is pirated and available for free ten times a day why would you go to a theare to spend money......I refer to cable operators here and not only the pirated DVDs thatis a marginal cause compared to these cable guys....one reason why Lollywood has increasing competition is because India makes films in a similar language with bigger stars and budgets that hurts, but thats the only reason Punjabi and Pushto films are doing better because India does not make Pushto movies at all and their Punjabi flicks simply suck...
