Unfortunately or maybe FORTUNATELY, all the Muslim Politicians were SHIPPED OFF TO PAKISTAN, what Muslims remain are solely people that thought India was their mother land, like you were not born (as you say) during the BD Seperation or should we say Independence and hence you are not accountable, BS!!!. I was not born during the partition period, but that does not mean I agree or commend what happened, yes yes yes it was all wrong, people killing each other in the name of religion was wrong and as of today in my books is still wrong, I honestly would suggest you to please educate yourself about world history before you comment on it, otherwise every single time some smartass like me is gong to walk all over you and away from you.

Did I say I commend the What happend in Bangladesh.. How simple you are! I know more then you think on the partition and it not the topic of this thread… I dont neccesailly support it.
So who represents the Indian Muslims? They are the biggest Minority in India, dont they deserve some representation? Where talking about fifty years after partition, where are the Indian Muslim politicians today? Where in secular India are the parties representing Indian Muslims?

Finee by me… I could care less, but point is, if Muslims in India were asked to choose between their religion and their nation, majority would choose religion.
And dont you feel despicable when you think of what your own army did in Kashmir… Forget Pakistan, we didnt force them to commit attrocities there…

there are tons of political parties, and you vote for the one who promises you a better life. why would secular countries need religious parties?

Queer mera dost, I never even go to Mosque, im secular, and pretty much atheist. My interest in Muslims in India has nothing to do with Islam, only Muslims as a political group in India. I really want to know why they arent more vocal.
They dont need to aggitate, but if the Indian army commits attrocities in their name, arent they even a little upset. Specially when those attrocities are against their own fellow Muslims?

Yaar, the fact is that a community cant be represented prperly by someone who isnt a memebr of that community. Who would know more about issues effecting Muslims? a Muslim or a Hindu. A strong Muslim party, which can also stand for secularism like the BJP could ensure better representation. It would have been handy in light of say the Ahmedabad riots etc.. People are welcome to vote for whoever they want, but if there is no mainstream Muslims party, then your not going to get the representation you deserve. Plus as diverse as the Muslim population is in India, a Muslims party would be unifying force..

well there are muslim parties - the IUML, the PDP.. i dont think they get much support even in muslim majority areas coz even other political parties field muslim candidates there. usually these parties ally with the congress or CPI and co. and end up fielding joint candidates in muslim majority areas, and none elsewhere.

It IS about hating America becuase it’s rich ad powerful. No one likes rich people, they want to pull them down. Otherwise pakistanis would be protesting stronger on Darful and Indonesian ethnic killings.
So what you’re saying is that indian muslims should not align themselves with majority (hindus) but with muslims? ok, leaving aside this whole pan-islamic identity thing, what would protesting/rioting give them apart form a few minutes of solidarity with some other muslims who are burning kfc’s in pakistan? if you can promise them a better life they might consider doing it, but otherwise maybe it’s wiser for them to continue being Indian, watch bollywood, copy American dressing and work in call centres?

dont forget that muslims are in minorities and they dont have even sepereated quota / seats booked for them,
and as far as president is concerned, he just have very few major powers out of which is declaring emergency , THATS ALLA, AND HE IS THE HEAD OF CIVIL DEFENCE,
he is not enough powerful to over throw any govet but except with the votes of rajya sabha members(that is the vote of confidence)…
its very easy to yell sitting in a muslim country, live and work as per the other relegions rule and with other relegion people like india and america, then u wil come to know the truth.

the mian party which recieves most of the votes from muslims are either congress or rjd,

India must be the only country in the world that allowed a party - the Muslim League - seen as responsible for the division of the country (at least from the Indian point of view) to continue to exist in what remained.
A lot of other parties have muslim MPs (heck, even the BJP has them) primarily from the areas where muslims are in substantial numbers. Muslims rarely vote for the BJP, but all others, including the communists (with whom they have a love-hate relationship for religious and other reasons) get muslim votes. The communists are a strange lot. After having allied with the Muslim League in the past, they suddenly realised that the Muslim League was communal, but then, have been aligning with them directly or indirectly in the recent past.
As for 'muslim protests', I haven't heard of protests on the Kashmir issue, but they definitely protest against the US support to Kuwait against Iraq or the attack on Afgahnistan or Iraq now. But then a lot of smaller parties, and many times the communists protest against these things. Of the lot, a communist protest may get a bit more newspaper space and the others would be happy if their protests get mentioned in passing.

on the other hand,
india is not as small as pak that each and evry news will come on papers or on tv,(if a protest is going on in a village , nop one cares to show it in papers or on screen, they have other issues also)
and as the media is neutral they dont care about the minor relegious issue’s only major issues are shown,
hence, if a group of people protests against the issue of quran except the local newspapers no one else would know.

No one cares about the rich.. America unlike Sudan, has a direct or indirect impact on the entire world. So when America does something, people take notice. When America sides with Israel, the world takes notice. When they invaded Iraq, the world took notice. No one would jate America if American policy were more balanced. Its a perception problem.
And Indian Muslims shouldnt riot, but they should protest when they see and injustice. You cant leave out their Islamic identity. India may want to be homogenous, thats fine, but Muslims will always be Muslims and Hindus Hindus. So
the Muslims of India must make their presence known, they must take control of their political future and stand up for their own concerns. This may be a good thing for India, because it would make it a more politically balanced, and representative nation.

Pakpat has been little trivial in his question. But knowingly or un-knowingly he asked you guys a very sensitive question, that touched you right where it hurts, didn't he?
But you Indians have few things to learn and fast. :D
1- Stop dreaming !
2- Best mutual prosperity is achievable with distance and respect for each other (You Indians are not interested in either - A fact)
3- we are quite familiar with human rights and protest rallies. (at home & abroad - Tariq Aziz - UK 1960 ++)
4- Your BS opinions and credibility is fast diminishing on the street level apart from few glamour struck mentions. Otherwise it is still very re-active and hostile towards hindians in Pakistan.
5- last but the least, USA is our problem in our back yard - We will deal with it our way in our time.
Remember! The power of 200 million Muslims in India if are ordered through a fatwa, will walk all over the 800 million odd Hindus in conversion. Such is the power of fatwa. (the reason has been long given and still in wait)
A proof! Islam is a religion of peace and prosperity, not violence.
Its too confusing a religion for you hindians to understand. Peace out!
