Question about Indian Muslims..

Re: Question about Indian Muslims..

BTW, Im pretty much an atheist. Just interested in Indian Muslims from a social perspective.

Re: Question about Indian Muslims..

lack of protests? haha.. thought we had that covered already.

kashmir - you folks think kashmir is all about hindus raping muslim women, thanks to the khutbas on kashmir your friendly neighbourhood mullah dishes out when you simple folk go to mosques.

i can only pity you people, living in an army dictatorship, with a citibank hotshot reeking american coroporacy as a figurehead, ready to lecture indian muslims on how politically active they should be. maybe some indian muslims can teach their brothers across the border the elusive idea of elections and voting.

Re: Question about Indian Muslims..

Im not dictating terms, just asking.
When the whole uprising in IOK started, the Indians were going on a rampage, we werent involved at that point. Most of the freedom fighters then were also local Kashmiris. Indian Muslims betrayed themselvs as Indian citizens and their faith by not standing up against this.
Pity us all you want, but you still havent to answered the question. Why arent Indian Muslims more involved in the policies of their govt? If the Indian union is so united, shouldnt they voice their oppinion? Shouldnt they be organized?
And you should read what the guy up there wrote about being arrested by Indian police for protesting:)
Stop getting so upset, answer the question or dont…

Re: Question about Indian Muslims..

the guy who wrote about indian police knows jack on india. watching a bollywood sleaze flick doesnt make you an expert on indian police's ways.

it is well known that the kashmir struggle, even in its initial indigenous days, was almost entirely supported monetarily as well as trained and armed by pakistan across the LoC. if you have trouble swallowing this, listen to what yaseen malik, the stalwart of the indigenous kashmiri liberation movement, said only a couple of days ago in pakistani kashmir.

also, indian muslims are not one uniform cabalistic entity. a bhopali muslim has stronger ties with his hindu neighbour politically and socially than some madrassa-trained mattoo in muzaffarabad who listened to some mullahs khutba in a mosque and cant wait to blow himself up. a malayali muslim would spit at any kashmiri militant muslim who tried to gain sympathy playing the islam card and ruined his happy islamic way of life in secular india.

Re: Question about Indian Muslims..

Well, I dont know, but I think an Indian muslim would know alot more about Indian police then you would. Sometimes Bollywood is accurate, I mean its based on something right?
The Kashmir struggle was supprted by Pakistan but those fighting were your own Kashmiris from INDIAN OCCUPIED KASHMIR! If you dont believe me ask Yasin Malik.
And Indian Muslims may not be Uniform but they are still Muslim. You might not know this, but the concept of “ummah” the Muslim brotherhood is indoctrined in the Koran. Even I have a bias, I support Muslims in general. Any Muslim you meet will have some bias. A muslim may be closer to his Hindu neighbor, but that does not excuse him from raising his voice when his fellow Muslims, and countrymen are being abused by their own nation. I dont know if the Kshmiri militant could win over the Malay, but even the Malay Muslim must have jad a soft spot for Kashmiris if when he heard about the crimes commited against his fellow country men and Fellow Muslim in Kashmir at the hand OF HIS OWN NATION AND ITS ARMY!
So why dont Indian muslims have a voice?
For not prtesting their nations actions, Indian Muslims should be as accountable as the Indian govt…

Re: Question about Indian Muslims..

Queer, you are Hindu arent you? If you are, how are you an authority on Indian Muslims?

Re: Question about Indian Muslims..

yeah yeah muslim ummah.. the one which didnt even burp when the islamic republic of pakistan butchered 300,000 muslims in bengal. indian muslims should have faith in that and ignore common sense. such morons hey..

Re: Question about Indian Muslims..

I wasnt born then.. Many Pakistanis were kept in the dark about what was happening in East Pakistan. And were NOT a Democracy, our generals do as they please. They dont represent us. Most Pakistanis are very upset about what happend there. But, for the most Part we are very supportive of Muslims around the world. Pakistani Muslims are very passionate (to our detriment) about political issues especially when it concerns other Muslims. Indian Muslims never speak up, they have no voice.
Indian Muslims knew about what was happening in Kashmir, the know now, and still they dont speak up. Its a democracy in which they are mute. This is why Pakistan was created , atleast we have a voice in our country as flawed as it is. Why dont Indians stand up and denounce their govt policies? Its an elected govt after all, how can they allow such attrocities to occur? Indian Muslims btrayed themselves..

Re: Question about Indian Muslims..

And trust me, anywhere you go, Indian Muslims like any other Muslims, for the most part would put their Religion before thir country.. In this case India. Islam unlike Hinduism, isnt synonmous with Hindustan...

Re: Question about Indian Muslims..

PP, u should have posted this in WA…

Re: Question about Indian Muslims..

Oh, sorry, Mods can move it if they want...

Re: Question about Indian Muslims..

if you have a country to yourself, but are ruled by generals who dont represent you (your own words above), what purpose does it serve?

indian muslims do speak up on kashmir. on numerous ocassions they have cussed out pak for financing and keeping alive militancy in the valley and ruining a generation of muslims.

What Queer is saying is true. Your question about agitating of Indian Muslims seemed to be absurd. Agitation in other countries regarding this incident has produced ‘Dick’ change in Uncle Sam’s attitude. I wonder this question is more appropriately addressed to SA or leaders of the Muslim countries rather than India which is a Hindu dominated country.

Re: Question about Indian Muslims..

a lot of what mainstream indians think does influence muslims? the educated indian, hindu or muslim, likes america very much. it is shown in a good light in news, plus no one stands on street corner and shouts ‘down with america’, so thre is no ‘hate atmosphere’.

Re: Question about Indian Muslims..

Pakistans purpose is still open for debate. Open another thread if you want..
Oh ofcourse “cus” out Pakistan but ignore the problem when its Indian Army causing the Problem. I knew you would say that! Thats where the Indian muslims failed though. When it was their own army commiting the attrocities, and probably still are, they failed their fellow country men and fellow Muslims.

Re: Question about Indian Muslims..

Fair enough. But I dont mean to aggitate, im simply wondering why Muslims in India dont speak up for crimes commited atleast in place like Kashmir by their own army. Simple question.. But you can close the thread if you want. Im bored with this subject anyways, Queer is to busy foaming at the mouth to give any real answer.

Re: Question about Indian Muslims..

Its not about loving or hating America, its about stnding up for what you believe in when America or any other country does something wrong. None of the media is spreading a hate atmosphere in Pakistan either, but a hate atmosphere begins to develop when people see for themselves what America does and how its effects people…

Re: Question about Indian Muslims..

So are there any real Muslim Political Parties in India?

Re: Question about Indian Muslims..

yeah man one day you wake up and decide indian muslims arent agitating enough on kashmir. kashmir isnt even an issue to non pakistani muslims. but then again, they dont attend khutba sessions at your mosque..

Re: Question about Indian Muslims..

Unfortunately the above statement from you, in itself describes your mentality towards Indians, and in my opinion (not that it matters) does not even deserve a reply.
