Why are you guys so worried about? We beat SA which I feared most we will beat Aus as well , our team has to make sure that they take all catches and Aus will be history!

Issi liye, I try to write putting down everything, else misunderstanding happens. … but then some complain that post is too long.

I think you misunderstood my post. I did not wrote that Pakistan should play Yasir Shah in place of Wahab Riaz … or even that Yasir Shah should play or not.

The players I would like to play, I put down in colour (blue), and Yasir Shah is not even in there. My choice of players to play in bowling line-upis Wahab Riaz, Sohail khan, Rahat Ali and Ehsan Adil. I gave their batting order in my opinion, that you can see from my said post’s first line … ‘order would be’:

I only included the name Yasir Shah if he would play (if I was giving names of players who should play, I would have only given 11 names).

I wrote that if Yasir shah plays than Yasir Shah should come at number 9 (without mentioning who would be left out).

Anyhow, I could not understand how you picked Wahab Riaz name as in my list his batting order is at number 8. Obviously, if I wrote that Yasir Shah would come at number 9 than why you think I am excluding number 8 from team? …

Well, even though I did not wrote in my earlier post, as I was not writing down the name of team I would like to play, rather giving batting order of the team I think may play, I am putting down here, that if Yasir Shah would come in the team (what I think would not be right), than I believe Ehsan Adil would be left out.

Here is what I think should be batting order of Pakistani team: If Yasir Shah plays than he comes at number 9. Who should be left out, I did not mentioned (and I did that, because after injury of M Irfan, names coming in media is either Ehsan Adil or Yasir Shah).

Sarfraz
U Akmal
S Maqsood
H Sohail
Misbah
Afridi
Wahab R*

(If Yasir Shah plays than he should come at number 9 after Wahab Riaz. Whom he would replace if he plays … ask Misbah :))*

If Younis is not playing, Misbah must come at No. 3 and lead from the front. Exposing Akmal early on will cost us. If all went well Akmal can be sent on No. 5 before Maqsood.

We know that a player can get out first ball or may make runs before getting out. Misbah wastes 20 to 30 balls before he start making runs. Misbah could still get out after wasting 20 to 30 balls without making much runs (fould be 5 to 10 runs in 20 to 30 balls). That means, even if Pakistan had good start (maybe making 80 runs in 100 balls), than wasting 30 balls would make that start bad and that means posting low score. If start was bad than situation could become much worse. That is the reason Pakistan randomly make 300 runs or chases 300 runs.

Anyhow, if first 4 batsmen are fast scorer than we can expect any one of them may score good runs fast and in that case Pakistan would be sitting with good score and plenty of balls.

That is why I think, after first 4 players, if Pakistan is in trouble than Misbah can come to stabilize the inning, else there is no need for Misbah to bat even at number 5 or 6.

Example: Pakistan against SA was 92 in 16.2 overs when Pakistan lost second wicket. Misbah came in and made first 9 runs in 29 balls. Since Misbah feel reluctant in running between wickets, he slowed down Younis too.

Result: Pakistan run rate became so low that it started effecting performance of other players who followed, and they lost their wickets trying to increase run rate.

End result: Pakistan was all out making 222 runs in last overs, that was just 130 runs more than what Pakistan was in 16.2 overs. Ideally, with such start, Pakistan should have made at least 300 runs .. if Maqsood and U Akmal would have followed before Misbah and before Younis (provided they had not lost their wickets early).

Sometimes its annoying and defensive unnecessarily. But most of the time it makes sense. If you have players coming who can do SR 200 then blocking and waiting for the loose ball works for the middle order. It all depends if the top order got out early or the bowling attack is still charged up after 15 overs.

It is Misbah and not Miandad. Miandad will remain our top 3 (if not top) batsman ever because of his versatility and ability to shift gear in batting according to the situation. Even Inzi used to take time in last 7 years of his career, but he would cover the blocking with explosive hitting later on to bring up the overall SR. Misbah is limited, but is doing a decent job at the moment. Wish we had another sensible batsman in the line up.
