Putting the Noble Quran on the floor of a mosque

Re: Putting the Noble Quran on the floor of a mosque

so u r comparing a physical being such as a woman to a book?

I am sorry but I really don't understand what's so difficult to understand. Haven't you guys heard of 'touching someone' in a context other than the actual physical contact? Don't you get 'touched' by massive scale catastrophies such as the recent earthquake in Pakistan?

Re: Putting the Noble Quran on the floor of a mosque

no, I’m taking the definition of “touch” and applying to one of the verses.

Re: Putting the Noble Quran on the floor of a mosque

Okay let me tell you about the ayaahs of surah waqiah as I understood after studying them.

those ayaahs refer to Kitaabum Maknoon which is also called Ummul Kitaab and **Lawhim Mahfooz **in Quran itself. That Ummul Kitaab is up in the heavens and Quran is written in that well guarded book (Lahwhim Mahfooz)

056.077That this is indeed a qur’an Most Honourable,
**
056.078
In Book well-guarded,**

056.079Which none shall touch but those who are clean:

Look at ayah 77 which declares Quran as the honourable book but the very next ayah tells us that Quran is from the Book well guarded (Al-Maknoon)

and the next ayah refers to those who touch that Kitaabum Maknoon.. It does not talk about Quran. It talks about Kitaabum Maknoon itself. and **those who are clean **refers to Angels.

That is the correct and agreed upon and mostly understood explanation of those ayahs.

I asked for the arabic because I wanted to tell what it actually is.

May Allah:swt: forgive me for any mistakes I made. Aameen.

Re: Putting the Noble Quran on the floor of a mosque

Thats the same guy Dr. Shabir Ahmed. I used to read his column Dastak in Family magzine. But they discontinued his column for God knows what reason.

He is very learned guy and I find his columns very interseting. Thanks for sharing

Re: Putting the Noble Quran on the floor of a mosque

i've read it in a kitaabk. that a sum1 that is impure can't evenread the quraaan neva mind touch it. (however she can read as a form of a dua). and about having only 1 sipara. even that is not allowed. however if there is a kitaab that has a few aayats from the quraan and there is more riting not form the quraan than the quraan then sum1 impure can touch that. although u can't actually touch the aayats form the quraan.

Re: Putting the Noble Quran on the floor of a mosque

AQ, that is indeed a very far fetched explanation of the verses u have brought....

i dont think angels have anything to do with being tahir or not, they r not created in such a state that they wud need tahaara....

i think lawhim-mehfooz and kitaabim maknoon r both used only by those who have no understanding of arabic language....
in both case its the Quran which is described as being protected (mahfooz) in the lawh and protecetd (maknoon) in the book....

a better understanding is that when Quran is saved in the form of a book, then only those may touch it who r in a state of tahaara.....

^

my Ref: Tafheem ul Quran by Maudoodi.

Re: Putting the Noble Quran on the floor of a mosque

whenever a noun is to be identified with its adjective in Arabic, the adjective is put with AL before it....

like Alraheeq-Al-Makhtoom....

raheeq-e-makhtoom is not arabic, its urdu, similarly u cant group lawhim mahfooz according to arabic grammar....

Re: Putting the Noble Quran on the floor of a mosque

My Mom told me girls in Pakistan studied an Urdu book “Islamyaat” and in their class everyone always touched it in the class, even without wudhu, apparently there are many aya’s with their explanations in it. I don’t know.

And a person who is impure can always recite by heart.
If someone impure has a cd and puts it in the computer and then recites the Qur’an, there is nothing wrong with that.

Re: Putting the Noble Quran on the floor of a mosque

:rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes:

Re: Putting the Noble Quran on the floor of a mosque

is it true in pakistan if you drop quran accidently on the floor you will be lynched?

Re: Putting the Noble Quran on the floor of a mosque

no i read inbahsiti zewar volume 1. that it is definately not allowed to read of by herat aswell. only dua’s/ only ihtout wudu u can recite. but if ur on your periods u can’t recite either.

Re: Putting the Noble Quran on the floor of a mosque

No, it is not true.

Re: Putting the Noble Quran on the floor of a mosque

so when Quran says,

Ba’l hova Quran-um Majeed-un Fee Lahwim Mahfooz

how do we translate Quran being in Lawhim Mahfooz according to how you described?

Re: Putting the Noble Quran on the floor of a mosque

^ u describe it as "nay, but it is the Honoured Quran, protected in the Lawh"....

Lawh (which u read as Lawh-e-Mehfooz) and Kitaab (from Kitaabim Maknoon) cud be the same thing while Umm-ul-Kitaab only means the core of the Book (i.e. Kitaab)....
just trying to correc tthe terms....

Re: Putting the Noble Quran on the floor of a mosque

Thanks army for your point of view.. I must say it is interesting and something to consider. I however am most inclined towards the explanation given by Maudoodi Rahimullah in his tafheem ul Quran. And Allah:swt: knows best.

Thanks again for teaching us something of useful

Re: Putting the Noble Quran on the floor of a mosque

^ as if i expect ppl to be more inclined to my views as opposed to maulana maududi's views.... :p

Re: Putting the Noble Quran on the floor of a mosque

BUT next time when I will read on such, I will be able to keep your view in mind as well and may be ALLAH:swt: will guide me towards more truth. As Rasoolulah:saw: said Miracles of Quran will never end.

Re: Putting the Noble Quran on the floor of a mosque

No one can touch the Qur'an but MUTAHHAROON

Why do Mullahs and Mullanis have problem understanding the Qur'an?

LA YAMUSSUHOO ILLAL MUTAHHAROON 56:79

meaning #1: No one touches the Qur'an but those who have done ablution (wudhu). (Will the hands burn?)

meaning #2: Only angels touch the 'master-copy' in the heavens.

Sensible understanding: Only those who approach the Qur'an with clear minds, without pre-conceived notions and extraneous sources like Hadith, will be able to understand it.

Re: Putting the Noble Quran on the floor of a mosque

how does touch equate to understand??? :konfused:
