Rafi Peer Theatre is the only group of Pakistan, which is promoting education awareness, social awareness and entertainment to the peoples of all classes. This was stated by the leading person of Rafi Peer Theatre, Usman Pirzada in an exclusive interview with Daily Times. Pirzada said that the Rafi Peer Theatre Workshop was working on keeping the tradition of folk puppetry alive in Pakistan. It was the only pioneering organisation of its kind in the country. Over the years it has produced a vast variety of interesting work for urban and rural audiences. It is the only organisation in Pakistan that has done extensive work for the development of theatre, he maintained. He said that the Rafi Peer Theatre Workshop was the oldest theatre and puppet company of Pakistan. It was founded in 1974 and was the only group, which was organising major international arts festival. During the last 13 years it has produced 19 international festivals of puppetry shows, he revealed. Pirzada said Rafi Peer was the third biggest group across the world, which was providing entertainment to the masses through puppetry.** He said we were promoting ‘Putli Tamasha’ and were encouraging those who had left the profession. He maintained that it was an honour to continue the puppetry, as it was a part of Pakistani culture. **
“We arrange three to four shows during a week and remain active for providing healthy entertainment to the children as well as to the adults,” Pirzada said. “On Sunday, we organised a special show for the families too,” he said adding, “We also arrange awareness programmes for women about everything. But mostly 70 to 80 percent shows are usually for children and 20 percent are for adults.” “We also go abroad to perform in international festivals. Recently, we achieved third prize in an international festival held in Italy. In this festival more than 40 companies had participated.” He said there were many kinds of puppets such as string puppets, shadow puppets, glove puppets and many others, adding that their main mission was to educate kids about social values, brotherhood, religious values and how to give respect to elders through puppetry. “We also have the nautanki theatre, but in nautanki, human beings perform free of cost as it is a very popular form of theatre,” he said.

Brother did it first and then I got permit to do so:D. both of us are married in same community,pandit, his wife is Pandeyji from Mathura, Mine is Nehruji from Barahmulla:D. So entire blame had already gone on him by the time my case came up:D, problem was more from hubby’s side:(, Pundaas created problem in both marriages but somehow it happened:)

Punjabans are the most overconfident type of women, Our society has more independence than other Indian societies:), Hope adjusting in your father's culture would have been easy for her. I never though being Saraswat Brahmin is so tough:D

Mostly they avoid anything that is khatta for men, Imlee (Tamrind) content is big no, in north Indian Brahmins:)
