Kathputli ka show, seen many a times in colorful state of Rajasthan, mostly during Maru festival in February in god forsaken city of Jaisalmer in western Rajasthan:)

Oh Jaisalmir is mentioned in Shah Latif's stories "Sorath Rai Diyaj' and 'Leela Chanesar'. These stories are full of amazing traditions. In Sorath Rai Diyaj, A Rajput Raja gave his head to a singer, as he promised for givin anything to the singer. In Leela Chanesar, Leela exchanged her husband for a Nau- Lakha haar (necklace).

It has more than 800 year fort, named after Raja Jaisal, hottest place in India with almost no rainfall:), Gadsisar Lake, In sarfarosh they have shot in Jaisalmer instead of Bahid, various havelis in the city, Entire city is around fort:). Now my brother is there:)

So term for both CM and PM is wazeer, in Hindi, it is Mukhyamantri and PradhanMantri respectively.Now his son is Omar Abdullah is CM:). General indian population calls Prime Minister in similar way:)

She glamorized Hindu culture and brought in main stream, many traditions got revived because of her:D, Infact, ladies now buy their clothings based on these serials:D, and the actors of TV are better than Bollywood has got:D

The narrator of Kathputli stories in Rajasthan were excellent and as young people I sat for more than an hour listening the story of Rajput Prince and princess:k:, Presentation is always the best by Rajastanis. Folk music is the best in India:)
In India, people know only Mughal-e-Azam:D

Mughal-e-Azam is well known because of movie, books have "Akbar Mahan", "Sikandar mahan" and "Ashok Mahan", i initially thought "Mahan" is surname like kaur:D

Kaur is a surname? I thought its just an addition to sikh girls' name like we have Parveen or Bano. :)

We are not supposed to have surname like men use after singh, for women, we are born kaur and die kaur, we are special creature hence not needed to use surname of either father or husband:),the literal meaning of kaur is princess:)

saw it last week. it happens in almost every star hotel and all the historic places in jaipur. and we have both in huge numbers

That is acccording to sikh theology, none of my cousins ever used kaur, they use their jat title after name, some title have village name as well:). I used Kaur till my marriage:D
Priyanka is punjabi hindus, like entire kapoor khandan, Raj Kapoor family was of pashtoon origin, khatri, arora, and brahmins have same name across, punjabi, pushtoons and sindhis:)
Amirta Singh also uses Singh as her surname :D
She is Pashtoon muslim and sikh mix, Tavleen singh, wife of Salman taseer, uses singh and also daughters of Prime minister, her eldest daughter Upinder singh was my teacher in history in DU:). Otherwise Singh title was mostly of Rajput/Thakur women:)

Actually thats what my impression was too (bold part). girls usually use Kaur when they are single and once they get married they adopt a surname. Kaur is punjabified form of Kuwari/kumari which means a single girl (me thinks) , actually it also means princess.

By this definition Raajkumari (unmarried princess) and there can’t be a married Rajkumari.

actually there is a set nomenclature.
youvraj means king in waiting (usually the eldest prince)
all other siblings are rajkumars and rajkumaris
rajkumar is also called kunwar , bhawar, tanwar etc in rajasthan depending on their seniority.
Rani is any queen of a king.
Pat-Rani is the eldest queen or the queen for practical purpose who is also mother of youvraj.
similarly Rajas have different degrees as well depending on their "greatness".
Raja, Maharaja, chatrapati etc.
also back in the days kings used to do a ritual called Ashwamegh yagya. in which they release a white horse and which ever kingdom it goes either that kingdom has to join the other kingdom or if they choose to fight then they capture the horse which is declaration of war.
King/Lord Ram did that yagya too. his horse was captured by prince Luv and kush. it was followed by a huge fight.
prince luv was later made king of a kingdom and his capitol was called Luvpur which is currently called "Lahore" :)
