hudd hai yar.. Amma Zabardast bhai, what difference does it make! BAkery or TAndoor.. we all know what is being discussed here. ok I make it simple.. the place where they make goool gool, patli patli bread.
ab prostitute ko call girl bolo ya escort, rhai ge tu wo Pakistani political party jaisi. (just felt like fitting it here) :halo:
It depends on where the "sasta-tandoor" is being opened. If it is opened in poor neighborhoods then it is a great move, as poor neighborhood won't have a "tandoor or bakery" nearby selling "roti" anyways as they can't afford "tandoor ki roti", they'd rather make their own roti if they can buy "aata".
Challo yar, someone write to Imran and urge him rename this as 'sasti-bakery',. On a positive note, I am happy certain people arent coming here bringing in PTI's inability to win seats or Sita White this time.
Coming back to the topic, our so called 'bakeries' are selling rotiz for Rs. 5-6 these days. Now if they came up with a concept that delivers by selling them at Rs. 2-3, then hats off to them. I dont think anyones going out of business either.
This is a hella good idea. It is helping the poor. If tandoor shops are price gouging that screw them.
It's not worth to keep shops in business at the expense of the common man opening rozay with water.
Last night i saw part of Capital talk where they were giving out an account number to donate to
misplaced people in Bajaur. Where can i get that number? It had a swift # and a bank account number.

The article explains that the traditional tandoor shops are not price gouging - rather, the increase in the price of wheat has mean that bread now costs a lot more than before.
Imran Khan's idea is basically to use charity to make cheap bread. Traditional tandoor shops cannot sell bread for less than it costs to make because then their owners would have no money to buy anything with. Imran Khan can sell bread for less than cost though, because charity will cover the loss.

Does anyone know what a swift # is.
I think its a routing number. If you provide it to your bank here, they can easily take care of everything.
Came across this news which would have gone unnoticed. I hope such measures start to bring PTI into the attention of the poor people of Pakistan, so that they vote for him the next time around. Kudos to the PTI doing something, even though they aren't in power.
good charity initiative, the political goodwill from it is a question. When AKP did it, it was already a very well organized organization. That is something PTI needs to get to. All the goodwill cant do any good if there are no candidates to field.
PTI need to take this a step further and highlight their people, the people who are actively present and contribute and look after this project. The issue I see with PTI as a whole is not the sincerity of the party, but that almost no one knows any other prominent figures from within PTI who would run in the elections, other than Imran Khan. He can capitalize on his well-known status and put forth candidates, build them up, so when the time comes, they'll already have formed a political base with the people. (Perhaps the locals do know other party members, but nationally not many do)
Absolutely great initiative though. May Allah reward those who start such good deeds to help the poor and needy. Public will remember these people.
There are many people working on these lines already in Karachi. One of them is the Sailani Trust. It gives free meals to thousands of poeple in Karachi and poor patients at Karachi's governement hospitals.
Other trusts doing same work are Chippa, Edhi, Alamgir, Kissan Ghee etc. Its a fact that hardly anyone sleeps hungry in Karachi due to very hidden charity by many people.

Good to know that people still care about their fellow human beings :)
You know what amazes me, is that a good initiative can still lead to Pakistanis arguing over it for some stupid ass reason.
We even argue when a building is on fire...fire brigade calling a meeting first...making a plan to execute it carefully...though by that time...the building on fire might have settled into ashes already... :D

I agree...
For once we can just leave out PTI's inability to win seats or field candidates or Sita White or Jemima, and appreciate such gestures by Imran, be it the sasta-Tandoor, Namaal University of Shaukat Khanum Cancer Hospital.
