just wondering if there are any tips/tricks/hints all you moms and dads could pass on to help those of us who are prepping for baby?
i’m hitting the gym 3-5 days a week, taking my multivitamins and folic acid, and trying to eat better and not stress over every little thing.
i’m also trying to be regular with prayers.
what else could i/should i be doing? are there any tips i could share with my husband?
and exactly how much folic acid do i need- i mean, should i take it for 3 months or 4 or what?

Did ovulation kits work to detect ovulation?
i am not taking folic acid is it necessary? one more thing, is exersice like running treadmil ok if someone is TTC?
Here is info about the different types of ovulation kits and how they work How to use ovulation kits
A very helpful book is Toni Weschler, Taking Charge of Your Fertility. Teaches alot of important things about your own body and cycle, and how to know when you ovulating using very simple and easy methods
You should definitely start taking folic acid right away
Running and other exercise is fine and good, as in general the healthier you are, the better. But of course moderation is key, dont over do it. If running is too much, just try walking instead. You can speak with your doctor before starting any new physical regime
I second the book by Toni Weschler. Awesome book and i learnt so much about my body in general althouigh it was a bit stressful to track my cycles every month.
folic acid should be started 3 months before planned pregnancy and continued 3 months into the pregnancy but sometimes u have to eat it thru out like i did.
eat lots of red meats. u need to up ure iron levels to pump blood for 2 and not become anaemic when pregnant.
i just bought Taking Charge of Your Fertility- it seems extremely informative so I'm looking forward to reading it through. Interesting theory about trying for a specific gender although that would weird me out so I'm just going to leave it up to God haha
One thing I have noticed is that the more one thinks about trying to have a baby, the harder it seems. SGC you seem to be doing everything right so I would suggest to just take it easy and not to ponder too much over it. InshaAllah, it will happen when Allah wants it to happen. Best of luck!
SGC, WOW!!! You're doing everything right girl....but i would suggest you take it easy, don't burn yourself out... and honestly, don't think about and focus on the fact that you are trying to conceive... just relax and Insha'allah it will happen for you guys. My prayers are with you, good luck! :)
its way hard to not think of babies when you're all about babies, its true. i already have the nursery decorated in my mind, the stroller picked out, and a million other little details here and there confirmed. oi. i gotta slow down.
