Pre wedding dressing up

Before i knew i was getting married i had my hair always looking neat used to visit the hairdresser every 6-8 weeks (i have really short layers on top so decided i need to grow it if want to pull all my hair into an updo on my big day) so haven’t been to hairdressers for about 6MONTHS and my hair is looking still very nice lol but not as neat

Haven’t bought any new make-up as i feel i will go to a Mac counter before my wedding and buy from there for during/post wedding

Haven’t bought any new work clothes for a very long time - as i want to do this for when i return to work after getting married with a brand new trendy wardrobe.

After i get married i intend to change my image (if that makes sense) thats why have stopped making such an effort now.

Anyone else done the same or am i just weird lol??

Re: Pre wedding dressing up

i have one year to go...but i have started to not shop so much...for saving money purposes, and also started to watch my diet and stuff. I am acutally planning on going back to school and not working for the first two years (have to finish my masters)...thats another reason not to buy any more suits and stuff i wont be using them as often.
anyways i guess its normal.

Re: Pre wedding dressing up

yup i plan on doing the same thing changing little things. I still do go for my hair and still dress up just as i use to but I currently have medium lenght hair (use to be long until my birthday weekend when i decided to cut it) and after i get married i wanna cut it short with lots of choppy layers and dye it a different color. My natural hair is lyk a brownish so my fiance says i shouldnt dye it or highlight it ever. but i still want to. so im thinking lyk a hazelnut brown with highlights or lyk a dark reddish

Re: Pre wedding dressing up

I have highlights in mine (light brown) colour needs re-doing as roots are coming out want to get a full head darkish brown colour. I had a really nice hairstyle my hair is really long with very short layers on top - but haven't had it done in ages so the layers have grown out cant wait to get it chopped after wedding inshallah

Re: Pre wedding dressing up

skausar, right after the wedding, you may be going to a lot of parties etc (depending on where you live) so you may want your hair/highlights to be in tip top condition to be able to do that. You may or may not have the time to go get a haircut right after the valima.

Re: Pre wedding dressing up

I understand what your saying but i can't have it right choppy the way i want it before my wedding coz frindge won't go back - i think will get it trimmed and coloured before hand then after marriage get a proper cut what you think?

Re: Pre wedding dressing up

Yep you could always do that! Atleast your hair would be presentable in the sense tht if you straighten it, it would look nice. OR if you can schedule an appt the day after valima and think you can make it, you could go that route too. But we all know how hectic things are with weddings.

Re: Pre wedding dressing up

When i have my short layers in i starigten it all out thats how it suits me - but when layers have grown out straight doesn't look all that good so will trim it and curl the ends for any parties etc Thanks for your advice Ira xx

Re: Pre wedding dressing up

I don't think i dressed any differently before the wedding, but I did grow out my eyebrows, stop wearing makeup, and, based on some recommendations, i severely cut down on washing my hair..so i would shower as i normally did but just rinse my hair out with water, and use shampoo maybe 2ce a week..a fwe weeks before the wedding i did get it colored to get rid of the highlights i was growing out from the year before..but that did no good :(

Re: Pre wedding dressing up

^why didn't u wash them as often?? whats the benefit?

Re: Pre wedding dressing up

my hair was/is prone to breakage, the person who recommended it told me less would fall off so it'd be thicker.

Re: Pre wedding dressing up

Im not dressing up as much myself...sometimes Im afraid he will think he is marrying a frump, lol. Im going on a very strict regimen soon though. Im out of town right now with no gym in these boonies so I have to wait until I get back. Ive got to be nice and toned by my wedding, Inshallah.

Im in mourning...Im going to have to give up food very soon. Waaaaaaaaaaaaaaah!!!!

Re: Pre wedding dressing up

oh and i think traditionally a girl is supposed to look like crap the time before her wedding..so that by wedding day she shines. u know, "saad-gi" and all....

Re: Pre wedding dressing up

I thought it was the opposite. That as soon as a girl gets engaged and is about to get married soon, you always see her looking more fashionable and well put together than before… they start wearing makeup, more flashy clothes and jewelry, no? :konfused:

Re: Pre wedding dressing up

^ vo mooodrern wali dulhan hoti hai :p

Re: Pre wedding dressing up

Girls who are already into makeup and haircolor, heavy jewellery and trendy grown women outfits would probably stop doing that before they get married but if a girl is a simple one and she looks like a girl and not some already married woman than she'd probably try to change her image like get into makeup and jewellery etc.

To each their own.

Re: Pre wedding dressing up
