^ Agreed. Bad things should be condemned and should call for apology. Having said all this, will you ppl condemn AH for his statement against partition of Indo-Pak. Had your Quaid apologized for talking against a cause for which hundreds of thousand lives were scarified.
All I have seen clips, never the full context of the speach. If he said what you say he said, then I will say it was an unfortunate comment.
Most of these lives lost were those from minority provinces.

The context is very much there in the clips i.e. victim card of MQM.
It doesn't matter 'lives of whom', minority or majority province. The point is ppl had given sacrifices to make this country and calling that a 'blunder' should call for an apology from all the nation.

An emotional statement. This forum is full of threads attacking Urdu speakers. You started most of them. Give a single example of a single post of mine which is anti-Punjabi. None. I said most lives lost were people from minority provinces, not all. Obviously, it is a historic fact that people were also killed in East Punjab, a Muslim minority region. As far as context is concerned, that racist Mirza statement also had a context and background i.e. wall chalking for Muhajir Sooba and he was talking about those persons who have demanded for separate sooba through wall chalking. His statement was not targeted at all Urdu speaking ppl, he was angry at ppl demanding separate sooba and was reminding some facts (which he considered fact and you ppl consider as myth). BTW, its time for MQM to issue a clear statement for / against separate sooba. If I’ve missed that statement, do post here.

**KARACHI: Muttahida Qaumi Movement chief Altaf Hussain has directed Dr Ishratul Ibad Khan to take charge as governor of Sindh, DawnNews reported.
Hussain had asked Ibad to work in harmony with the federal and provincial governments under the guidance President Asif Ali Zardari.
Meanwhile, the president welcomed the statement of the MQM chief asking Ibad to resume work as Governor Sindh.
The president termed it a good omen for harmony and reconciliation.

You think it was all loss and no gain? Actually, anytime MQM has returned it has always gained something from PPP. so, aage aage dekhiye hota he kya. Especially to Racist Sindhis.
Just ask how that Mirza topi thinks about MQM governor coming back in power again. Sindhi racists and their leader have been completely shut off. So much so that MQM agreed for the governor to return.
BTW, killing people is PPP wadera-Sindh specialty. As much as you hate Altaf, he actually appealed to stop that killing. If killing is what MQM wanted then Altaf would not have refrained his workers to stop agitation.
MQM still has not decided to return to the government. This means that it is looking for MORE powers.

I think there is no reason to condemn Altaf's statement. It is enough to disagree with it. After all, he didn't call for elimination of Pakistan. This is in contrast to Sindhi racist Mirza's statement, where he said that he had made up his mind to actually start working against Pakistan.
Now THAT is clearly condemnatory.

Are you trying to say that ordinary urdu speakers are such racist pigheads that they killed 18 people bcoz of a political statement? I guiess you will be fine if Sindhis killed 18 urdu speakers if outraged by wall chalkings.
And who said it about ALL ordinary Urdu speakers? There are such people everywhere. And the need is to punish all of them regardless of ethnicity.
The writings on walls was actually something that should be done. And if it results in killing of people then such pigheads must be punished.
