This stupid maniac thinks that the leader of “muhajirs” is MQM-Haqiqi only. Even though no one in his most skewed muta’assib mind would ever call MQM-Haqiqi to be representative of Urdu speaking people.
Zulfiqar Mirza is a threat to the peace of Karachi and Sindh.
KARACHI: A number of localities in the city descended into violence on Wednesday night soon after provincial minister Dr Zulfikar Mirza heaped scorn on Urdu-speaking people and Muttahida Qaumi Movement chief Altaf Hussain.
In a fiery speech which may widen the growing gulf between the estranged Pakistan People’s Party and MQM, Dr Mirza also confirmed that he had twice met Mohajir Qaumi Movement (Haqiqi) chief Afaq Ahmed and said that if Mr Ahmed was a criminal then Mr Hussain was an even bigger criminal.
“**In my view, the real leader of the Mohajir nation is Afaq Ahmed **who has been in prison for eight years and not a single case against him has been proved. In fact next to President Asif Ali Zardari he is the biggest political prisoner of the country,” Dr Mirza said while speaking to newsmen at the residence of Awami National Party leader Shahi Syed.
Before being led away by Local Government Minister Agha Siraj Durrani,** Dr Mirza urged the people of Karachi and Hyderabad to rise and rid themselves of these ‘kambakht’ (the damned ones)**.
About the MQM decision of quitting the government, he said the party had miscalculated the situation and played a wrong card on the advice of its friends.
“Now graffiti demanding a separate province has appeared in the city. No-one has the courage to divide Sindh. This was the province which provided you shelter when you came here hungry without clothes.”

Why didn't MQM send their gunmen to protect and defend the common people of Orangi and Lyari against ANP and PPP goons? Just pathetic.

The urdu speaking community needs to take ownership for the shenanigans of MQM. MQM started all the culture of political violence in Karachi in 80s with establishment support, it's gotten so bad that now everyone has to be armed as a result. MQM is indeed a terrorist organization which needs to be disbanded, no ifs and buts, no excuses for killing population for the "broader welfare."
I think Mirza was right comparing Afaaq with Altaf & Governor, as far as cases (whether real or fake) are concerned. His reaction against the provocation of MQM for making Karachi a province, within a month after quitting Sindh Government, was also natural, but choice of wording was very wrong, as is the case with all the politicians.
Why MQM didn't ask for a separate province in around last 10 years when they were in Government? I don't understand with this attitude how they want to increase their vote bank in rural Sindh & Punjaab. MQM leadership should reconsider their strategies!!!
Not sure what he said, but something needs to be done about this Mirza, as in not by doing something unlawful . Its time to calm tensions. I will say to the Sindhis, we have to share this province. That means tolerating each other. Lets calm things down. And for the Punjabi nationalist who fails to tolerate the presence of the MQM, wake up and smell the coffee. The MQM represent the majority, not everyone, but majority of Urdu speaking opinion. If anything, it moderates opinion. I was at a wedding in Houston, full of professional Urdu speakers that colonise that part of America, and it was the MQM member who was cooling tempers. I say to the Punjabis, start to be tolerant, and stop following the likes of Hafiz Saeed, youyr great hero.
Agreed! There should be tolerance and respect for each other and that should not be put on stake just by random statements by some Tom, Dick & Harry! And everyone should be ready to accept truth about any politician irrespective of any affiliation with them.
