The menu you described seems pretty standard, especially in the context of a dawat. The iftar portion of it is neither very expensive to make nor that time consuming (unless perhaps quantity becomes a factor). There may be some scope to argue that it is extravagant if this is all for one person or a small family, but certainly not in the context of dawat where there is a large guest list. Even then I don’t see it as a basis to complain about anything nor to judge anyone.

Do you really believe that this type of eating is resulting in a short supply of food in general? Practically I can see that being the case with one or two items but certainly not the general availability of food being affected and causing people to go hungry.
