The Pakistan cricket team’s victory over India in the ICC Champions Trophy on Saturday has sent waves of jubilation across the country.
Pakistani public so used to raising their hopes and seeing them dashed in the past were pleasantly surprised to their cricketers carrying their form from their stunning triumph in the Twenty20 World Cup in England in June.
Not many expected that Pakistan would show consistency in high-pressure situations, however it seems a positive change has swept over the team as well as Pakistan cricket in general.
yes for the first time they have shown consistency and given us hope to dream that they can lift two trophies this year. This campaign is far from over but already they have made us proud of themselves especially after their performance on saturday.
Reading this article I remembered the song they were playing on the ground on the final whenever a Pakistani player came to bat and at the end the whole crowd sang the song with one voice as the Pakistani team did the lap of honour.
Go our tigers and make us proud again. All we ask is you give your best and inshallah the cup will be ours, but even if not so long as you give your best we will be proud of you.
I do not think it is time yet to evaluate the team.yes it has won t-20 and won against India and W.I,which was relatively a weaker side.Against India, yes but still India-pak matches have always been high scoring or high tension matches. After T-20 win Pakistan lost to S.L and again their win against WI was not impressive…
But still Best of Luck for Pakistan for the remaining matches and congratz for the victories… :k:
^ In any game, some players give their 100% and some do not. Even in today’s Aus v Pak game the bowlers gave 110% :k: while the batsmen probably gave half of that
Ultimately what matters is the result. Thats the difference between “almost won” and “won”.
Look at today's match. They gave their all and nearly pulled it off. That is what is called commitment. That is what matters.
Perspectives differ. I just got promoted today and I had to give a rhetoric speech to my guys and just stressed only one thing , Result.(May be I am a pure sales guy and for me ,only result that matters). Commitment is good but when your result is nil the commitment becomes irrelevent.
Its like somebody fought a war and fought valiantly but the end result was a defeat/surrender.Whats the use in that? The history will tell which side won and which side lost and not which side fought the war with commitment... (I was not referring to any war :) :)
I disagree. Ultimately what matters is IF your team fought well or not. 75/all out and then losing the game in 20 overs is much worst and regrettable/sad than how Pakistan lost today.

Chalo, thats your perspective - tumhe mubaarak ho !
PUI and Arli we understand your dard.. Go ahead and please vent on. Feel free to change your citizenship to New Zealand during that process just like you to changed to Srilanka during the T20 Final and during Pakistan’s tour of Srilanka.

you are comparing your professional life, with someone else professional experiences. Cricket is their profession, not yours.
to be a part of any sport, you have to consider a factor that one in thousands gets the chance to play on professional level and get international recognition. so it is really something God-gifted. whereas rest of us will choose any other profession.
therefore, you are not even in a position to talk about their commitment. the only thing is in your hand it to watch that game. the game length is roughly 6-7 hours which means that the time span is so small that expect spontaneity in every minute. and this spontaneity is the key that makes us to watch these sports. because if everything is visible to you then why would you bother watching it. whereas commitment is something personal.
so do what is in your best capacity and that is to watch it and enjoy it.
discussing their commitment is out of the question cuz they are the one getting paid for it, and not you.
and remind you, it was your decision to see them, they didnt force you to see it.
