He represents the Christian faith...hes supposed to have a hatred for Islam...i remeber when the Pope moaned about Islam last time everyone got all flustered...it doesnt particularly concern me when non-Muslims moan about Islam...what does get me annoyed is when we hear secularists moaning about how Islam needs to be reformed and become modernised and to make it at one with democracy...thats when i get annoyed...

i think catholics are defintely more left of center, and amongst the christians definetely the more open-minded bunch!!!

we need solidarity with our catholic betheren! they are the only ones not propagating hate against ISLAM!

although there is i have noted a concerted and almost it seems deliberate effort made to demonize the catholics for us Muslims!
I think it is to create a discord b/t Muslims and catholics b/c they seem to be working together well! additionally Catholics are an orgnized religion, and are feared by alot because of that

thier top down heirarchy has made them immune to being hijaked by the propaganda of the religiuous right. They can not be manipulated by corporations either! Thats why you will usllay find the catholic shurch come out making public statements of peace with Muslims, appreciating the Muslim faith, speaking against hte violence in Iraq and Palestine, speaking agsinst the oppression by Israel, which is aLOT more then i can say for any other Christian sect!!

All in all, there is a concerted and deliberate effort to demonize the catholic church!

I think catholics by in large are open-minded and more tolerant then any other christain sect! They have a desire to work amicably with Muslims! and we should encourage this diolgue!

Those that want to see discord b/t catholics and Muslism should not be allowed to be succesful in their efforts to demonize catholics to the Mulsim ppl who in tunr come our and start hating catholics and ruin our good relations wiht them!!!

SO CATHOLICS AND POPE GOOD PPL!!!

they are our friends! not our enemies as some would like to portray! dont buy into the propaganda!

thats the funny thing! he doesnt have hatred of Islam!!!

Its organized religion! the catholic church is a threat to the powers that be, b/c its organized millions of people in one union! which is a threat o the powers that be! b/c a country, a political party, a social elite, a corporation cant control it! the Pope speaks for and to the catholic ppl!

and he as a representative has spoken on more then one occassion for Muslims! the catholic church has instead of demonizing Muslims and saying things like Muslims are barbaric and islam violent, has instead said alot of good things about the people! The catholic church even offered to help and stand in solidarity with Muslims in all of this strife!

Thus far they are our friends! but ofcourse for some ppl thats a threat! some groups of ppl dont want muslims and christians to work together they want to create a clash of civilization, and these ppl are propagating this nonsese!

So dont buy it!!!!

Nope didnt say that at all...but hes a Pope and the simple thing is taking pride and believing your religion means you believe everyone else to be wrong...so i dont care what Christians, Jewish or Hindu leaders have to say about Islam...i expect them to be negative...what i dont expect is Muslims subscribing to this interfaith we're all the same bull****...

Remember they have their own definition of what a good Muslim is...its the moderate Muslim that believes in freedom and democracy...they hate the Muslim who judges by sharah...remeber that the kuffar will onmly accept you when you are like them...

look all our faihts have religious text which can be used to propagate hate! Its really up to the individual we can use our religion to hate, or we can use it to build bridges and promote love and peace!!!

i agree, Farwah.
there are good people definitely in all faiths and yes, muslim priests or molanas will be speaking at addresses about the non muslims as well in a way that might look that they are propagandizing against all non muslims.
we just don’t know, how much of the petty agendas of each side are in the works and who on either side is truly committed to equality and respect towards each other.

tolerance of each other can and ideally must be changed to likeability, clearly any propaganda will not help the end goal of solidarity, if that is what every one is really after – thus, coming from religious figures, any insinuations for fearing of other faiths is to some degree of real concern.

firstly my dear! what i dont where u read me saying that the catholic church is only encouraging good relations with "good Muslims" - thats NOT what i said! infact i said that the pope has stood up against the violence in Iraq and Afghanistan, and against the Israeli occupation. He is in solidarity wiht our oppressed Muslim brothers, and speaks against violence thats inflicted ont eh Muslim populace! And further the Catholic church wants to maintain good relations with Muslims in general, and have said good things about Islam, unlike the awful things that ppl like billy graham said about islam and our prophet! so since they are amicable and extending a hand of peace, we should nto reject it based on this hearsay and vague statements, rather should extend to them peace in exchange as well!

Big deal...they have an issue with what goes on in Iraq and Afghanistan so do certain secular groups in the UK...does that mean you align with them...we're not the same and the criteria is not the same...their criteria for judgement is human rights etc based on their own defintions...their agenda and belief is completely different to ours so under what pretext do you want to side with them,...

And back to my initial point...you are a good Muslim to these people if you partake in interfaith dialogue and make Islam into a secular ritualistic creed...start talking to the Pope about the desire to implement sharah then see how much he supports you...ask the Pope what his opinion on the Crusades were and then see if hes on you side...

According to Dr.Asrar...atlast all european christainwill unite...as already in EU...to fight aginst the final rounfd with muslims.....and Dr.Tahir qadri has the same view that Rome will be there center....

I did not say anything about muslims viewing themselves as quacks or idiots. The pope is not muslim, so I don't know where you're pulling this conclusion from.
