Re: PCB tamasha - PCB plans action against Afridi -
From Cricinfo
This administration has sought at every opportunity to strangle what it sees as burgeoning player power; last year they banned or fined seven top players after the Australia tour. Two of them, Younis Khan and Mohammad Yousuf, spent protracted periods out of the side thereafter. But Afridi is a different kettle of fish, not only because he was a captain with some positive results to show, but because of his immense popularity across most of the land; no other player in the side comes close.
Butt ke Pait me tu wasi kafi sari Pari hai, likan Lagtah hai Afridi ous ko hazam nahi hoga..
Re: PCB tamasha - PCB plans action against Afridi -
Yaar is it me or People in Pakistan dont know how to speak ? Most of our politicians including President don't know how to speak. Look at Chuhdary Shujaat, Then Offcials in PCB dont know to speak Look at this susar jii. Those who do speak normal dont know when to speak (afridi) or what to say.
Re: PCB tamasha - PCB plans action against Afridi -
Only in Pakistan do players and cricket management behave in such childish, shady and uncivil or disrespectful manner but then it is also a reflection of current Pak society
And it is not the first time that something like this has happened. It seems that we can never get rid of the PCB politics or groupings in the team. It seems like a recurring ailment. Idiots like Ijaz Butt will only fan more groupings in the team
Absolutely disgusting!! ...... and absolutely disgusted by this oft repeated nonsense
laanat ho sab par (both players and PCB officials)
Re: PCB tamasha - PCB plans action against Afridi -
KARACHI, June 2: Former ODI captain Shahid Afridi has hired the services of prominent lawyers to contest the various charges pinned on him by the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) and has challenged the abrupt cancellation of the NOC granted earlier to him for his appearance in English County Hampshire’s T20 exhibition matches.
In a letter sent to the PCB by Mandviwalla & Zafar Associates on Thursday on behalf of Afridi, it has been stated that the show-cause notice sent to Afridi is “malafide in law and facts and is an attempt to tarnish the image of the seasoned all-rounder who is a patriotic, respected and honourable cricketer of Pakistan.” The letter further states that their client Shahid Afridi followed all procedures as per his central contract while applying with the PCB for an NOC to appear for English county Hampshire after which the NOC was formally granted. “However, it is sad to note that the abrupt cancellation of the NOC and the suspension of central contract is a bid to deprive Mr Afridi of his lawful financial income,” the letter adds.—Agencies

Pakistan coach Waqar Younis admitted that he had difference of opinion with Pakistan ODI captain for Wesr Indies tour Shahid Afridi. Waqar, however, expressed his astonishment over how Afridi ‘raised hell’ while announcing retirement from International Cricket.
Re: PCB tamasha - PCB plans action against Afridi -
So Afridi felt like a hero because he won a few series' for Pakistan and got us to the WC semifinals.
I never knew if coming second was ever a goal in sports. Anways. so he decides to take on the coach and the administration (regardless of how pathetic PCB is) for 'facts' he still hasn't disclosed yet.
I'm glad he is put in his place for unprofessionalism. PCB had little choice but to accept his resignation and charge him for violating code of conduct. It certainly taught a lesson to Waqar (who is far more professional in his approach) to keep the media out of it.

Even though in essence they are all wrong in their approach...however, I think using Lawyers is the one right thing now from Afridi's side. Stop talking about this yourself. Let the attorneys hammer it out in court. At the end I see some settlement outside of court Inshallah.
Re: PCB tamasha - PCB plans action against Afridi -
Looks like afridi is desperate to play in england but pcb got in his way. reality is sinking in for him i guess.
Surprisingly media didnt make it a big deal and no body came out in his support. may be all the osamas and mehrans have taken away all the attention from him.
btw if you dont have respect for your seniors an call them "ghatiya aadmi" on national TV then i wonder who would come out in your support.
