there are lots of dialectic differences ..the standard is what is set by pakhtu academies in kabul and peshawar..anyway here is an old list I have
Awal (saturday)
D'Wayaam (sunday)
DRa'Yam (monday)
Sal'Waraam ( Tuesday)
Pin'Zaam (Wednesday)
Sh'Pezaam (Thursday)
Juma ( Juma'a-tul-Mubarrakk)
These are the days names we use in waziristan.
Then you have the farsi ones which were in vogue on both sides of the durand line till the 19th century
shamba : saturday
yakshamba : sunday
dusamba : monday
seshamba: tuesday
charshamba : wednsday
panjchamba : thursday
jum'a: friday.
other areas use the simpler one
jum'a,
khali,
awal,
dwayAm,
dreyAm,
tsalarAm
pinzAm
Although most areas i know use
Ziarat thursday (because people used to leave for home on that day)
Juma friday
Khaali Saturday
The Peshawar-Nowkhaar areas use
friday juma
saturday khali
sunday itwar
monday saloram
tuesday peenzam
wednesday shpagam
thursday ziarat

Dear friends,
as a pustoon I am always confused about that why the people from Shadoo village, use opposite terms for foot,"they call it sspa "which infect is "Night" in Pushtu we call foot = psha(khattak dialect) or Khappa (charsada dialect)

Different dialects for differnt areas, but the basic two are the "sha" and "kha" dialect. We have the Esepzye dialect, khostai, etc.

Dinzee: Language always varies at it's point of origin..you have the standard written versio accepted internationally and dialects which usually vary sharply..the same happens in Punjab ..in England and other nations. If you want a dialect difference check out the difference between moyr and maar between Peshawar valley pashto and waziris.

have u ever heard people say 'staray mashhh' instead of staray mashay. how about 'la khair raghlay' instead of pakhair raghalay.

Its great to find Pashto words having explained so nicely. I am a great fan of Pashto language and Pashtuns. In my efforts to learn pashto, I asked my pashtun friends to teach me but none of them (unfortunately) was able to explain/teach so profoundly as you have. I would appreciate if you please post some links or sites (if any) where i could learn pashto OR is there any other way to learn comprehensive pashto?
