Parliament completing 5-year term - sign of healthy democracy - says CJ

Re: Parliament completing 5-year term - sign of healthy democracy - says CJ

politicians? admitting defeat? a blind could see where the case was headed. The govt. case was about as strong as a rotting tree. and if there was a deal...why mind admitting whatever? It was all pre-planned...remember?

Re: Parliament completing 5-year term - sign of healthy democracy - says CJ

Sep 8th - CJ enjoys Baklava with Hariri

Re: Parliament completing 5-year term - sign of healthy democracy - says CJ

Bhaijan, are you saying that CJ is a discredited hudge. Surely not :hehe:

Re: Parliament completing 5-year term - sign of healthy democracy - says CJ

he he. missed the point there, didn’t we?

Re: Parliament completing 5-year term - sign of healthy democracy - says CJ

haha you got the point. However it is a sore point to some.

Re: Parliament completing 5-year term - sign of healthy democracy - says CJ

Ofcourse it is :-)

Re: Parliament completing 5-year term - sign of healthy democracy - says CJ

it wasn't about the merits of the case. more to do with what musharaf will ALLOW the court to do and not. he could have and still could just squelch the whole thing with one order.

Re: Parliament completing 5-year term - sign of healthy democracy - says CJ

like he did with Pemra Ordinance?

I keep saying it, if martial law is the panacea for all that's wrong, why has Musharraf not imposed it already? Why must he drag the country through all this instability?

And again, why would musharraf ALLOW the courts to give a judgment that, in practical terms, becomes a major pain in his u know what?

Moreover, if the conspiracy started with the reference against CJ, please explain a similar judgment of the supreme court about Shehbaz Shareef in 2004?

Re: Parliament completing 5-year term - sign of healthy democracy - says CJ

Cj is the root of all evil in Pak. :vivo:

This proves that u can never disprove a conspiracy theory

Re: Parliament completing 5-year term - sign of healthy democracy - says CJ

POE:

self preservation? March 9. Do I need to say more?

It's his personal opinion. He can say whatever the hell he wants as long as that is not interfering with his work/affecting his judgments or interfering with someone else's work.

Plus, we must keep in mind WHERE he said these words. He was speaking to a delegation of young Pakistani's so maybe he did not want to rant about political idiosyncrasies we have going in front of these guys.

bah whatever. Its a non issue for me.

Re: Parliament completing 5-year term - sign of healthy democracy - says CJ

Yep, that's what they say he did. Oh and Nawaz got deported back to Saudi as well. I wonder if there is a connection? :)

Re: Parliament completing 5-year term - sign of healthy democracy - says CJ

No because he got back his seat through brute force even though the justice system delivered a verdict against him. So yeah U have a point.

if u r going to make it an issue, then please point out his prior views about the parliament that were diametrically opposed to what he has said now.

Thanks.

nah...it's just a conspiracy for self preservation. For some reason I thought only Pakistani's inside the country were afflicted with this disease. Turns out this is a disease without boundaries.

Re: Parliament completing 5-year term - sign of healthy democracy - says CJ

Oxymorons:
1. Military Intelligence
2. Democracy with a Military Dictator

Re: Parliament completing 5-year term - sign of healthy democracy - says CJ

How about 'Democratic Political Party' or 'Sincere Politician'?

Re: Parliament completing 5-year term - sign of healthy democracy - says CJ

or Benign Dictator?

better

Dysfunctional Dictator?

Re: Parliament completing 5-year term - sign of healthy democracy - says CJ

ahan... may be you are right, but fact remains that THIS LOOLI LANGRI democracy is still much better then that democratic decade in 90s. Didn't Musharaf made it EXTREMELY difficult for coming democratic regimes to suppress media? and of course judiciary. didn't he gave a common man awareness of whats going around the country? In our Society democracy can't be implemented over the night, at least he gave us a start towards it strengthening these two pillars.

lets be honest about it and put aside our prejudice against him. I am no fan of Musharaf or CJ, but look at the bigger picture here. when Musharaf goes, we will have an independent media, not afraid of bringing up the issues of common interests and THAT alone is a big achievement, since media plays a major role in check and balance of power.

Re: Parliament completing 5-year term - sign of healthy democracy - says CJ

I have. That u can't find it or refuse to acknowledge it, isn't one of my headaches.

errrrr?

If self preservation at the cost of national *fasad *is a strategy, then sure Musharraf has one. As for PML-N or MQM not having a strategy, I don't give two hoots. It is still not reason enough for me to support dictatorship. Surely British devised/implemented heck of a lot better strategies 60 years ago than we do today. Should we be knocking some doors?

I just hope some day the military strong man in ur country comes up with a BETTER strategy for combating terrorism than ol' dubya (high possibility given the level of IQ we r dealing with here) and rigs ONE election to get in, then we'll talk. Until then we r only going round in circles.

Re: Parliament completing 5-year term - sign of healthy democracy - says CJ

:D

Re: Parliament completing 5-year term - sign of healthy democracy - says CJ

Haha aha! This is perhaps the cleverest post I've seen in gs! Goodone

Re: Parliament completing 5-year term - sign of healthy democracy - says CJ

so as soon as 'corrupt' CJP sides with Busharraf the illegal-rule-defenders jump all over the place ... nice, so you do need his approval
